Chapter 18: You Are Arrogant
With a bang, the door to the private room was forcefully pushed open.
The loud noise drew everyone's attention.
The intruder was Lauren. Her hair was disheveled, and her clothes disarrayed. Clear finger marks were visible on her face.
"Mr. Thomson, help me!" Lauren cried out in panic.
As she shouted, she ran towards Harrison.
Seizing the opportunity, Adeline got off Harrison and stood aside.
Harrison felt a sudden emptiness in his arms and was a bit disappointed.
His face was sullen.
Lauren, apparently frightened, seemed about to throw herself into Harrison's arms.
But Sam acted quickly and grabbed her arm.
"Lauren, what happened?" Sam asked.
"Mr. Juarez!" Lauren cried, "I...”
Just then, Gunnar also rushed in angrily.
There was a scratch on his neck, and he was bare-chested, wearing only boxer shorts.
Several female attendants gasped.
Adeline's lips twitched, and she looked away.
Gunnar's physique was terrible.
Seeing Gunnar like this, combined with Lauren's tearful appearance, everyone had a good idea of what had happened.
"Gunnar, what are you doing?" Sam, usually smiling, frowned.” Wanting to harass my people on my premises?"
Sam owned this clubhouse, and it was true that Lauren and the other female attendants were under his control.
Gunnar, who had been glaring at Lauren, slightly restrained himself upon Sam's questioning.
"Sam, she seduced me first. When we got into the room, she refused to cooperate with me," Gunnar said angrily.
"I didn't!" Lauren hurriedly denied, "I didn't seduce him at all. He forcibly dragged me into the adjacent lounge..."
It took a great deal of effort for her to escape from Gunnar's grasp.
She hadn't even slept with Harrison. How could she let herself be defiled by someone like Gunnar?
So, her first reaction was to seek help from Harrison.
"You dare to argue?" Gunnar shouted.
In his eyes, Lauren was just one of the female attendants.
Even if she was the headliner, Gunnar didn't think Sam would fall out with him over a female attendant.
Gunnar had thought that Harrison might have some interest in Lauren, so he hadn't dared to make a move.
But today, Harrison had come with Adeline.
So he thought Lauren didn't matter to Harrison.
Lauren also knew that she couldn't compare to Gunnar in terms of status.
She covered her face and cried in despair.
Just then, she felt someone draping a garment over her.
She looked up and was stunned.
The person who gave her the garment was Adeline.
"You…”
Adeline didn't think much about it.
She just felt that a lady who had just been bullied and was disheveled in front of so many people would feel uncomfortable.
Besides, she was wearing a coat today.
So she took it off and put it on Lauren.
Gunnar sneered and said, "Sam, your female attendants don't know their place. She's the headliner, and yet she treats guests like this? Look at what she did to my neck!"
"What do you want then?" Sam asked in a low voice.
"Well, for the sake of our friendship, just let her go with me, and I'll forget about this matter," Gunnar said.
As soon as he finished speaking, a cup suddenly flew towards him.
Gunnar was startled, but he reacted quickly and jumped aside.
The cup smashed to the ground, shattering into pieces.
The room fell silent, and the atmosphere was tense.
The one who threw the cup just now was Harrison.
Harrison didn't even lift his eyelids, picking up another cup and asking coldly, "You're quite arrogant, huh?"
Gunnar opened his mouth but couldn' t speak, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
Harrison actually intervened in this matter.
This shouldn't be happening.
Harrison was indeed very unpleasant at the moment.
Gunnar wondered if Harrison still cared about Lauren.
Then he really picked the wrong target.
Although he could participate in this game, he wasn't very close to Harrison.
Harrison wouldn't respect him at all.
Gunnar wasn't afraid of Sam, but he found Harrison terrifying.
"Mr. Thomson!" Lauren felt overwhelmed by Harrison's support and cried tears of joy.
However, Harrison didn't even glance at her. He just played with the cup in his hand, as if
he might smash it at Gunnar again at any moment.
Gunnar felt weak in the legs.
He smiled awkwardly and said, "Mr.
Thomson, I was just joking. Let's forget about what happened just now..."
"Forget about it?" Harrison's icy voice interrupted him.
Gunnar trembled in fear.
"Done something wrong, and you want to act as if nothing happened?" Harrison's tone was cold.
"I apologize to Lauren, no, I apologize to Ms. Gunnar!" Gunnar had completely lost his arrogance and become fearful. "Ms. Gunnar, I was confused for a moment, and I was wrong. Please forgive me."
Lauren looked at Harrison.
Adeline also glanced at him.
She thought that Harrison cared about Lauren.
Lauren knew her status and didn't want to make things hard for the big shots because of herself.
Harrison's willingness to stand up for her was already the biggest help.
She was about to let this matter go when she suddenly heard Harrison ask, "Ms. Hensley, what do you think?"
Lauren was stunned.
Adeline was also puzzled.
What did this matter have to do with Adeline? Why ask her opinion?
After a pause, she said, "The victim is Ms. Gunnar, so let her decide."
Lauren smiled at her and then said,
"Since Mr. Clarke has apologized, let's forget about it. I'm fine, Mr. Thomson."
Harrison slammed the glass onto the table with a loud "thud."
Lauren flinched at the sudden noise.
Upon hearing Lauren's words, Gunnar quickly turned and fled.
He thought that since Lauren forgave him, Harrison probably wouldn't do anything to him anymore.
Two female PR staff approached them. helping Lauren up from the ground.
"Lauren, are you alright?"
Lauren was fine and then said to Harrison, "Mr. Thomson, thank you just now. I'll go change my clothes now."
Harrison nodded in response.
After Lauren left, Harrison said to Adeline, "Acquire the Clarke Group."
Adeline felt a pang in her chest, but she quickly replied, "Yes, l'l arrange for someone to handle it right away."
With that, Adeline went outside the private room to make a phone call.
The atmosphere livened up as people tried to break the ice.
Sam leaned in close to Harrison, smiling at him.
Harrison glanced at him and said, " Your smile is too ugly. Stop smiling."
"I won't," Sam said playfully.
"Harrison, you looked handsome when you got angry for the sake of beauty."
