Chapter 27: Enjoy Yourself Tonight 

Something seemed to flash through

Adeline's mind, and she immediately let go of Mateo and turned to leave.

But Millie suddenly rushed over and blocked her way.

"Adeline, where are you rushing off to?" Millie's mouth curved into a strange smile. 

"Since you've come in, I won't let you go so easily."

Adeline tensed up, looking at her warily. 

"What do you mean?" Just then, the door to the room was pushed open.

It was Joshua who walked in.

At this moment, his face was full of excitement, and his lecherous gaze kept scanning Adeline's body.

"Millie, you really delivered!" Millie sneered, 

"Of course. Just enjoy yourself tonight."

Adeline understood what they meant.

She was infuriated and trembling all over. She looked back at Mateo, who was avoiding her gaze.

Adeline suddenly felt despairing.

Seeing Mateo's behavior, she knew that he was also complicit in today's events. Or rather, he knew about Millie's plan.

Not only did he know, but he also cooperated with her.

Otherwise, why would he pretend to be drunk and deceive Adeline into the room?

"Dad," Adeline's voice trembled. "Are you out of your mind?"

Hadn't she been a good daughter?

Yet, Mateo was conspiring with others to set her up.

"Adeline, l've found you a good match. Don't blame me," Mateo said awkwardly, "Mr. Reed said he really likes you. He'll marry you, and then, our family will get a dowry of 160 thousand dollars. You' re not losing out by marrying him, are you? Besides, you're not - young anymore. You might consider him."

After speaking, he hurriedly left the room.

Tears welled up in Adeline's eyes, and she clenched her fists tightly together.

It was always about money!

Previously, Mateo had set her up on a blind date with an older man for money.

And now, for money again, he had sent her into the hands of a lustful man.

Mateo was just a bastard.

"Adeline, l've found you a good match. Don't thank me," Millie said, turning to leave.

Adeline suddenly raised her hand and grabbed Millie's hair.

Millie screamed in pain, "Ouch. Adeline, let go of me! Are you crazy?"

Adeline didn't speak. She just forcefully pulled Millie's hair, and Millie was in so much pain that she felt like her scalp was being torn off.

"Joshua, what are you doing? Hurry up and come help me," Millie cried out.

Joshua was stunned by Adeline's sudden fierceness. He quickly came to his senses and rushed over, pushing Adeline's shoulder forcefully.

Adeline was fierce, but she couldn't be as strong as a man.

She was pushed back, and the pain in her shoulder made her grip loosen slightly.

Millie took the opportunity to escape from her grasp and ran out of the room.

Now, there were only Adeline and Joshua left in the room.

Joshua smiled lasciviously. "I didn't expect you to be so fierce. I like you even more."

Adeline steadied herself and said seriously, "Aren't you Millie's boyfriend? What's going on now?"

"Millie? I'm just playing with her. But you're different. You're so beautiful. I really like you.

Don't worry. I'll marry you," he said.

His words disgusted Adeline to the core, and as she watched Joshua come at her again, she quickly dodged, her eyes scanning the room for something she could use to defend herself.

However, Millie seemed to have prepared in advance and taken away all the offensive items in the room.

"Don't struggle. It's better to just give in to me. I'm sure you will enjoy it. But if you insist on playing this kind of game with • me, I can accept that too," Joshua said.

Adeline said, "Do you know who l am? I'm the chief secretary of the Thomson Group, Mr. Thomson's right-hand person."

Adeline had never liked to throw her weight around, but now, in order to protect herself, she could only borrow Harrison's power.

'"the Thomson Group?"

Joshua paused for a moment, then burst into laughter. "So what? Do you know that my dad is high up in the Thomson Group? Even if you're close to Mr. Thomson, you're just a secretary. I'll have my dad talk to Mr. Thomson, and Mr. Thomson will definitely respect my father."

Hearing him say this, Adeline suddenly thought of Camryn from the HR department.

No wonder Camryn strongly recommended Millie to the CEO's office. It turned out he was Joshua's father.

"Let go of me!" Adeline struggled desperately.

"You bitch! I wanted to be gentle with you, but since you don't appreciate it, don't blame me for being merciless!"

He slapped her with all his might, and Adeline felt her cheek-burning with pain, and her head was buzzing.

With a tearing sound, her shirt was torn open by Joshua, and her fair skin was exposed.

This scene stimulated Joshua's nerves intensely.

He bent down to kiss Adeline, who - quickly turned her head to avoid him, but Joshua reached out to grab her chin and tried to turn her face towards him.

Despair surged in Adeline's heart.

There was only Mateo and Millie outside the room.

They couldn't possibly come to her rescue.

She had already exerted all her strength.

Was she really going to let Joshua have his way?

Just as Joshua's foul mouth was about to come close, Adeline was filled with despair. 

But at that moment, the door to the room was suddenly kicked open with force.
