One night stand with my president(chapter 61)

Chapter 61: Ms. Hensley Arrives

Adeline quickly realized the situation. She set the flowers aside, stood up, and called out,

"Mr. Thomson."

Harrison ignored her and walked away.

Watching him enter the elevator, Adeline sighed.

"Ms. Hensley, what does Mr. Ronan mean? Is he pursuing you?" a curious colleague asked.

"Not at all, please don't spread rumors."

Adeline glanced at the roses nearby, estimated their value, and picked up her phone to transfer the money to Ronan.

Ronan quickly messaged back.

[Adeline, why did you send me money?]

Adeline replied, "Mr. Ronan, thank you for your kindness, but I can't accept your flowers. In the future, if there are any work-related issues, feel free to ask me, but don't do this again."

Adeline intended to be tactful.

But Ronan was not a kid, so she should be straightforward.

Regardless of Ronan's intentions, she hoped he would quickly move on.

She only wanted to maintain a professional relationship with him.

After a long while, Ronan finally replied, [Adeline, I won't give up.]

Adeline was speechless.

She felt that Ronan was stubborn.

In a private room at a club, everyone raised their glasses together.

"Cheers! Welcome back, Eleanor!"

Eleanor, as the guest of honor, held her glass and said happily,

"Thank you all for organizing this welcome party for me. To be honest, five years have passed, and you still treat me as a friend. I'm truly happy."

After speaking, she downed the contents of her glass.

Sam grinned and said, "Nice one, Eleanor.

Your drinking capacity has improved over the past five years. I remember you never drank when we used to hang out."

Eleanor smiled and replied, "Five years abroad, there were times when drinking was necessary."

Someone sighed, "Being alone abroad for five years must have been tough, right?"

"Well, no matter how tough it is, I've gotten through it," Eleanor replied.

At this moment, someone teased Harrison, "Harrison, why so quiet? Did you feel sorry for her living a tough time?"

Harrison took a sip of his drink and replied, "If you feel sorry, just say so. Don't drag me into it."

"Oh, are you shy now? Everyone knows that you just ordered a bouquet of roses for Eleanor today. I even saw the photo she posted."

"Eleanor, why didn't you bring the roses with you when you came? It would have been a feast for our eyes."

Eleanor blushed slightly and said with a smile, "What's so special about roses?"

"There's nothing special about roses, but those are roses sent by Harrison." Sam exaggeratedly said, "I've known Harrison for so many years and haven't seen him send roses to anyone."

Eleanor lowered her gaze and remained silent.

To others, it seemed like she was shy, so they continued to tease her.

But Harrison remained silent the entire time.

His attention wasn't even on their conversation. He was lost in thought, holding his drink.

Just then, Harrison's phone rang.

He picked up the phone and glanced at it.

It was a call from Adeline.

Suddenly, Harrison's mood brightened slightly.

But he didn't even realize it himself.

He immediately answered the call, asking, "What's up?"

Without discerning his mood, Adeline straightforwardly said,

"Mr. Thomson, there's an urgent document that needs your signature."

Harrison's heart sank suddenly.

He asked coldly, "You called just for this?"

Adeline paused and replied, "Yes."

A faint smirk appeared on Harrison's lips.

He indifferently said, "If it's urgent, bring it to me now. I'm at Sam's club."

Without waiting for Adeline's response, he hung up the phone.

"Harrison, whose call was that?" Sam asked.

Harrison pursed his lips and said nothing.

Having grown up together, Sam knew Harrison well. Seeing his expression, he grinned and asked,

"Was that Ms. Hensley?"

"Yeah."

"Great, bring Ms. Hensley over too. Let's all have fun together,"

Sam chuckled, seemingly eager for excitement.

"Go have your fun."

"I'm curious about who is more important to you. Ms. Hensley or Eleanor?"

"Do you have nothing better to do?"

"Okay, I won't disturb you. Mi go and have fun."

Sam went off to play pool with others, while Eleanor was surrounded by a group of people.

She glanced over at Harrison, who was sitting alone with a distant expression.

Adeline soon arrived at the club.

Standing at the entrance, she couldn't help but recall what had happened last time at this club.

She had almost kissed Harrison.

That day, Harrison had been upset for some reason.

To this day, she still hadn't figured out why.

The club staff recognized her and respectfully ushered her in, telling her the room number where Harrison was.

As Adeline was about to head upstairs, she overheard two service staff whispering, "Eleanor came to our place today. Did you see her?"

"I did! She's so beautiful. I never thought I'd see her in person in my lifetime. She's much prettier than on screen!"

"Yeah. And today, she's here to meet with Mr. Thomson and Mr. Juarez. It seems like she knows that group of people."

"So, is she and Mr. Thomson dating?"

"Most likely. They're a perfect match, both in appearance and talent."

Adeline tightened her grip on the documents.

But she remained composed as she headed upstairs.

Upon reaching the door of the private room, she raised her hand to knock.

Because it was a bit noisy inside the room, she knocked several times but no one came to answer.

So, she decided to push the door open and walked in.

Immediately, she spotted Harrison sitting on the sofa.

As Adeline took a step towards  Harrison, Sam suddenly exclaimed,

"Here is Ms. Hensley!"

Instantly, everyone in the room turned their attention towards Adeline.

Eleanor's gaze also landed on her.

Adeline remained composed. She walked up to Harrison, handed him the documents, and said, "Mr. Thomson, here are the documents for your signature."

Harrison didn't even look at her and reached out to take the documents.

Adeline then offered him a pen.

Harrison accepted the pen and quickly signed his name on the documents.

Onlookers could tell that they were in perfect sync.

Moreover, Harrison signed the documents without even looking at them.

Eleanor, observing this scene, felt extremely uncomfortable.
