One night stand with my president(chapter 45)

Chapter 45: The Camera Is Broken

Sam watched from the side, thinking that Adeline was indeed not just eye candy. She had valid reasons to become Harrison's chief secretary.

She could remember so many people and whenever someone talked to her, she could chat confidently about anything.

Suddenly, he felt like Harrison had struck gold with such a secretary.

"Mr. Thomson, how do you do?"

At this moment, a young man was standing in front of Harrison.

Adeline whispered to Harrison,"This is Dawson Larson, the illegitimate son of the Larson Group's chairman. He has just returned from abroad not long ago."

The chairman of the Larson Group had a son with his wife and another with his mistress.

Initially, both the mistress and this illegitimate son were kicked out of the country many years ago, but recently, after

chairman's legitimate son died in a car accident, they brought this illegitimate son back.

It was said that Dawson was accustomed to extravagance, bullying others, and engaging in all sorts of misdeeds.

Harrison had no regard for such a person.

So he simply ignored Dawson.

Dawson felt a bit awkward and somewhat irritated.

However, he hadn't come over to chat with Harrison in the first place.

He was here for Adeline.

He had spotted her the moment she entered the venue because she was too eye catching.

Since Dawson returned to the country, his father doted on him, granting him anything he desired.

And from the moment he saw Adeline he was determined to make her his.

Seeing Harrison engaged in conversation with others, Dawson took the opportunity to approach Adeline.

"Beauty, may I know your name?"

Adeline, being Harrison's secretary, ignored people whom Harrison ignored.

So, just like Harrison, she ignored Dawson.

Dawson wasn't upset. He thought that beauties were always proud, and he had to be patient.

"I'm Dawson Larson, and my dad is the chairman of the Larson. Group," he announced his identity.

Having just returned to the country, Dawson wasn't familiar with the local situation, but he knew his father was wealthy and influential, capable of covering for anything he did.

However, even after stating his identity, Adeline remained unfazed.

She turned and fetched a glass of champagne from the nearby table, handing it to Harrison.

Dawson became more annoyed.

Since returning to the country,he had never been so disregarded.

There were others around, and Dawson couldn't continue to embarrass himself like this, so he could only turn and leave,

However, his gaze remained fixated on Adeline.

Adeline sensed it but didn't mind

Over the years, she had encountered such gazes countless times.

In this kind of setting, Dawson wouldn't dare to do anything to her.

Joyce observed the situation in the venue while snapping photos with her camera.

if she managed this report well, she might be promoted to deputy editor next month.

So she couldn't afford to be careless.

She was holding her camera up to capture a scene where two CEOs were toasting when suddenly, someone hurriedly passed by her, accidentally bumping into her arm and causing her to lose grip of her camera, which fell to the ground with a "crash."

"Ouch," Joyce exclaimed.

The man who bumped into her turned back, offering an apologetic smile, then left with his phone.

Joyce picked up her camera and saw that the screen was black, unresponsive no matter how much she tried to operate it.

Clearly, it was broken.

Joyce was filled with frustration.

She loved photography, and this camera she had just bought with the money she had saved up for a long time was a limited edition.

Now it was broken from being dropped, and she was not sure if it could be repaired.

Most importantly, the culprit had just smiled at her and left.

Joyce immediately picked up her camera and ran in the direction the man had left.

Sam had just received an urgent call related to company matters.

Since it was noisy inside the venue, he moved to a terrace to take the call.

After finishing the call and turning around, he saw a young woman glaring at him, looking angry, and her face flushed slightly.

Sam recalled that he had just bumped into this woman, causing her to drop something from her hands.

"I bumped into you earlier. Sorry about that," Sam said.

"Just sorry?" Joyce raised her camera and said, "Do you know that my camera is broken? This was a limited edition I had saved up to buy, and it's no longer available in the market."

Sam was a bit stunned.

"And I need to take photos today and write a report. Now, I can't take any more photos. How are you going to compensate me?"

Sam was usually smooth-talking, but now, looking at her red eyes, he found himself unable to utilize his charm. All he could say was," How about this? I'll have someone bring you a new camera. The highlight of tonight's event hasn't started yet. You can use the new camera for now. You can't miss capturing moments during the auction, right?"

Joyce thought, "Indeed, that made sense”

"As for this camera, I'll have someone fix it for you. Please give it to me," Sam said.

Joyce hesitated as she looked at him. "Are you serious?"

"Of course," Sam smiled. "Oh, by the way, here's my business card."

With that, he took out a business card from his pocket and handed it to Joyce.

Joyce took a few steps forward, accepted it, and then froze in shock.

She thought, "Sam Juarez? Is he the heir to the Juarez family? Oh my, have I just yelled at the heir of the Juarez family?"

This was a disaster.

But now that it had come to this, Joyce felt she couldn't suddenly back down. That would be too embarrassing.

So, she forced herself to remain calm, handed the broken camera to Sam, and said, "Alright, I'll trust you this once. When will you get me the new camera?"

"I'll have someone bring it to you immediately," Sam assured her, then made a call.

"I'm on the terrace. Bring a camera here right away," he said on the phone.

After hanging up, Sam said, "It'll be here soon. Don't worry. The auction won't start for another half an hour."

"Alright."

Joyce sighed inwardly.

What a mess.

Not only had she broken her beloved camera, but she had also scolded the heir of the Juarez family.

Although it was his fault and he didn't seem angry, Joyce felt a bit uneasy.

"What's your name?" Sam suddenly asked, sending a shiver down Joyce's spine.
