One night stand with my president(chapter 54)

Chapter 54: They Are a Perfect  Match

Harrison was confused and said, "Are you crazy?"

"I'm not. It's everyone online saying so," Sam replied. "Why don't you remove the trending topics?"

"I can't be bothered," Harrison said.

"Come on, how can you be so lazy about this? Aren't you afraid Ms. Hensley will see and get jealous?" Sam asked.

"If you keep talking nonsense, I'll hang up," Harrison said coldly.

Harrison felt ridiculous that Adeline would be jealous about this.

She hadn't even called or messaged him once.

"Don't hang up," Sam hurriedly said. "So, are you together with Eleanor right now?"

"Yeah."

"Having dinner?"

"You want to come?"

"I won't. If I show up, Ms.Fraser will think I'm a third wheel."

Harrison didn't want to hear Sam's nonsense anymore. "I'm hanging up."

"Wait a minute. Since she's back, let's have a party. She used to be the dream girl in our circle. Now that she's back, many people are eagerly waiting to meet her," Sam said.

"Then you talk to her yourself."

Harrison handed the phone to Eleanor. "Sam wants to talk to you."

Eleanor immediately took the phone and put it to her ear

Harrison handed the phone to Eleanor. "Sam wants to talk to you."

Eleanor immediately took the phone and put it to her ear.

"Sam."

Sam said something on the other end of the line.

"Okay, you guys figure out the details. I'm free all week. Harrison has my contact details, just ask him."

Sam must have said something else  as Eleanor's face turned slightly red. She smiled and said, "Don't talk nonsense. Okay, bye."

After ending the call, Eleanor handed the phone back to Harrison. "Sam is as talkative as ever."

Harrison glanced at the screen again.

There were still no messages from Adeline.

Eleanor observed his expression and said, "Harrison, you seem a bit off. Did something happen at work?”

"Nothing," Harrison replied flatly.

Eleanor lowered her eyes, looking somewhat disappointed.

"Harrison, it seems I've been away for too long. I remember that you used to tell me anything that was bothering you."

"Is that so?"

Harrison thought for a moment but couldn't recall much.

After all, that was five years ago.

Eleanor observed his expression and smiled, "But I suppose even if something is going on at work, Ms. Hensley can handle that. I heard she is capable."

Once she brought up Adeline, Harrison glanced at his phone again.

He still didn't get her messages.

Instead, there were various messages from Sam teasing him.

Harrison replied, "Yeah, Ms. Hensley is very capable.”

Eleanor picked up a piece of steak and placed it in front of him, asking casually, "I don't recall ever hearing about Ms. Hensley working under you. When did she join you?"

"That's none of your concern, is it?"Harrison lifted his gaze to meet hers.

Sensing the chill in his eyes, Eleanor was taken aback and quickly said, "I was just asking out of curiosity."

Harrison remained silent while eating.

Eleanor smiled again and said, "Thanks for arranging for me to be the spokesperson for a product of the Thomson Group. I really appreciate it."

"It's mutually beneficial." Harrison replied.

Although Eleanor had been developing abroad for these years, she was an internationally renowned actress with considerable fame and many fans in the country.

Having Eleanor as a spokesperson would benefit the Thomson Group,  and at the same time, it would provide Eleanor with a favorable start to her career in the country.

Eleanor wanted to say more, but Harrison seemed unwilling to continue the conversation.

Eleanor quietly finished her meal.

After they finished eating, Harrison settled the bill and prepared to leave.

"Harrison, I've already arranged my accommodation. Will you come over tonight?" Eleanor asked.

"No, I have other plans."

With that, Harrison got into the car.

The driver quickly drove away.

As Eleanor watched the car disappear into the distance, her fingers tightened.

Her assistant, Sidney Wood, approached cautiously and asked,"Eleanor, are you alright? You don't look too good."

Eleanor gave a cold smile and said,"I've been away for five years, and Harrison seems different from before. During dinner just now, he kept looking at his phone. Could it be that he's waiting for a message from Ms. Hensley?"

Sidney quickly reassured her, "It must be work-related, Eleanor. Mr. Thomson and Ms. Hensley aren't in a romantic relationship. Don't overthink it. Besides, how can a secretary compare to you?"

Eleanor frowned slightly, feeling no relief from Sidney's words.

If that were true, then why had Harrison been so cold and distant towards her since last night?

After she got off the plane, she called him, and he did come to pick her up and take her to the hotel.

But throughout the journey, he only discussed business cooperation with her.

Of course, she was more than willing to cooperate with the Thomson Group.

It would undoubtedly elevate her career.

But what she wanted was Harrison's love and care, not this strictly businesslike attitude.

At the hotel, she hinted to Harrison that she wanted him to stay.

But either Harrison didn't understand her hints or something else, he just walked away.

She stayed alone in the hotel and didn't sleep until dawn.

When she woke up, she immediately called Harrison to arrange lunch together.

He agreed, but he was still polite and distant to her.

Harrison was willing to keep in touch with her, but it seemed only because of their cooperation.

Eleanor couldn't accept this.

He had been so good to her five years ago, often smiling at her and speaking softly to her. He even said that he would support her dream of becoming a big star.

Their friends even joked that they were a perfect match.

Why was everything so different now?

Could it be that he was still angry about her leaving without saying goodbye five years ago?

Eleanor's eyes lit up.

"That must be the case," she thought.

Harrison was just still angry with her, but as long as she showed him that she would never leave him again, he would come back to her.

After leaving the restaurant, Harrison instructed the driver to Shurford Residence.

However, he didn't have the driver stop at Adeline's building but instead in a secluded spot where he could see the entrance to her unit.

Leaning back in his seat, he stared at the door, lost in thought.
