One night stand with my president(chapter 17)

Chapter 17: Don't Be Nervous

Lauren thought to herself, "She's indeed beautiful."

Even Lauren, who always prided herself on her beauty, felt a sense of crisis.

Moreover, Adeline was always by Harrison's side, and now she was following him to attend such a private gathering.

Lauren's exquisite features twisted slightly with a hint of jealousy.

Adeline was always sharp, but at this moment. she did not notice Lauren's unfriendly gaze because all her attention was focused on the cards in Harrison's hand.

In this round, if Harrison lost, she would have to kiss him publicly.

Fortunately, Harrison's hand was not bad this time.

Adeline held her breath, analyzing the current situation in her mind.

If he played normally, Harrison should win.

At least he wouldn't be the loser.

Just as Harrison was about to play a wrong card, Adeline suddenly panicked and pressed his hand, saying, "You can't play this card."

Harrison stopped and asked her, "Then which card should I play?"

With winning on her mind, Adeline, without noticing Harrison's teasing tone, carefully selected a card and said, "Play this one."

Without waiting for Harrison's response, she directly drew a card and played it.

"Oh no! I can't beat that." Sam lamented, "Ms. Hensley, how could you do this? You're cheating."

Adeline replied calmly, "I am partnered with Mr. Thomson. How can this be considered cheating?"

"But...”

A female attendant beside Sam laughed and said, "Mr. Juarez, we overlooked this. Let's establish a rule that you can only play on your own and can't ask for help. How about that?"

"My darling knows me so well." Sam laughed heartily, "That's settled  then. Does anyone have an objection?"

Adeline had a lot of objections.

But Sam seemed to have no intention of consulting her opinion. She understood it now.

Sam was doing this deliberately.

Although she didn't know why, she couldn't let him have his way. But she couldn't turn to Harrison for help.

She had just thought about not losing to him and not letting him see her embarrassment.

If she went to him for help, all her efforts would be in vain.

"Ms. Hensley," Harrison's voice came from above her. "Don't be nervous."

Adeline wished she could pinch him.

But she didn't have the courage to do so yet, so she could only smile awkwardly and say, "I'm not nervous!"

"Is that so?" Harrison smirked, can see your legs shaking a bit."

With that, he maliciously touched her legs through the clothes.

Adeline was about to say something when suddenly a voice sounded beside her, "Ms. Hensley, you seem a bit pale. Are you alright?"

Adeline turned her head and saw a graceful and beautiful woman standing beside her.

She recognized this woman, who was the star attraction of the club.

Adeline had seen her picture hanging on the wall when she came to deliver something to Harrison before.

It was said that many wealthy young men had spent a fortune on her, just to spend a night with her, but Lauren had never agreed to any man.

She understood now why Lauren never paid attention to other men because she only cared about Harrison.

But she couldn't think about that now.

Lauren was her lifesaver.

She immediately said, "Yes, I do feel a bit unwell."

"How about going to the lounge for a rest?" Lauren smiled, "Mr. Thomson can be here with me."

"Great.”

Adeline was about to get off Harrison's lap, but he directly hugged her waist.

"Trying to escape?" Harrison whispered in her ear, a voice only they could hear.

Adeline also lowered her voice and said, "Mr. Thomson, you misunderstood. I just want to make room so as not to disturb you and Ms. Gunnar."

Harrison's gaze towards her was sinister.

But to outsiders, they looked like they were affectionately whispering to each other.

"Hey, what are you two doing? Be mindful of the atmosphere." Sam tried to contain his laughter.

"No leaving," Harrison said dominantly.

Adeline wanted to leave without a care.

But she was rational.

No matter how much she secretly competed with Harrison, he was still her superior.

If he got angry and fired her, she would have nowhere to go.

So Adeline could only endure it and turn to Lauren with an apologetic smile.

"Lauren, it seems Mr. Thomson doesn't need you tonight." Gunnar came over and took Lauren's arm.

"Why don't you come with me?" Lauren secretly cursed.

She thought Adeline didn't want to leave Harrison to her and was pretending to be nice.

With something on her mind, Lauren didn't notice that Gunnar was leading her outside the private room.

It wasn't until they stepped out of the room that Lauren suddenly came to her senses.

"Mr. Clarke, where are you taking me?" Lauren forced a smile and asked.

Gunnar smirked ambiguously and said, "Didn't I ask you to accompany me tonight? Lauren, I've liked you for a long time. Since Mr. Thomson doesn't want you, then come with me.."

With that, Gunnar pushed Lauren into the adjacent lounge.

The "lifesaver" was being pulled away, and Adeline felt uncertain.

But she counted the cards that had been played and then looked at Harrison's hand.

She thought that as long as Harrison didn't deliberately lose, he wouldn't be the last one to finish.

And Harrison didn't seem to want to lose on purpose.

Adeline breathed a sigh of relief.

Now, only Harrison and Sam were left playing.

Sam's hand should all be small cards.

But just as Harrison was left with a few larger single cards, Sam suddenly threw down a joker and then played several pairs in a row, finishing his cards.

Adeline was confused.

She remembered that someone had already played the Joker.

Where did Sam get another joker from?

"Oops, sorry about that, Harrison." Sam chuckled, "Looks like you've lost this round."

Harrison expressionlessly discarded the remaining cards in his hand.

Adeline stiffened. She thought Harrison would refuse to kiss her.

Although no one seemed to care about kissing in public, from what she knew about Harrison, he wasn't that casual of a person.

"Harrison, can't you afford to play?" Sam asked.

Upon hearing Sam's question, Adeline looked up at Harrison.

Büt she met his deep eyes.

Adeline's heart began to beat rapidly.

At that moment, they were very close to each other.

If he just leaned down a bit, he could really kiss her.

"Kiss, Kiss!" Someone started the chant, and everyone joined in.

Adeline felt her face burning.

Whether it was her imagination of not, Harrison's gaze seemed to be able to melt her.
