One night stand with my president(chapter 39)

Chapter 39 Moving Home

Adeline was puzzled. "Mr. Thomson, this is...”

"A company benefit," Harrison said nonchalantly.

Even though he put it that way, Adeline still hesitated.

Since when did company benefits include providing housing? Why has she never heard about this before?

Furthermore, with her sharp eyes, she immediately noticed that the address written on the note was Shurford Residence.

Even the smallest unit there had a floor area of 150 square meters and was very close to the Thomson Group.

Adeline had considered renting at Shurford Residence before, but the rent was too high for her to afford.

Now Harrison was asking her to move there.

Sensing her hesitation, Harrison was impatient.

He said, "You've been with the company for several years, always diligent in your duties, and recently you even helped me uncover what happened that night when I was drugged. This is my way of rewarding you. Is there a problem?"

Hearing this, Adeline felt that there wasn't an issue.

If Harrison wanted to give her accommodation, even a whole apartment, it would be a trivial matter for him.

Harrison despised being deceived, and since Adeline had uncovered the mastermind behind it, although it was her duty, Harrison

rewarding her wasn't unexpected.

He was always generous with those who worked diligently under him.

If she refused, it would not only seem contrived but might also displease him.

"Then, thank you, Mr. Thomson," Adeline said, folding up the note.

Harrison's demeanor softened slightly. "The house is empty. Pack up and move tonight."

Adeline didn't quite understand why he was so urgent, but since there was a good place available, she might as well move in as soon as possible, which would also prevent Mateo and Janiyah from bothering her.

If she moved, they wouldn't be able to find her.

"Yes, Mr. Thomson," Adeline said.

After work, Adeline immediately went home to pack her belongings.

She didn't have much stuff. After all, she was busy with work, and this apartment was just a place to rest and sleep for her.

So it didn't take long for her to finish packing.

She was about to call the movers when her phone rang.

It was Rowen calling.

Rowen was Harrison's assistant, and Adeline knew him, though they didn't often interact.

Adeline answered the call politely, "Mr. Palmer, what's up?"

"Ms. Hensley, Mr. Thomson asked me to arrange for movers to help you. They are already downstairs," Rowen said. "Are you ready? Can they come up now?"

Adeline hadn't expected Harrison to send Rowen to help her.

When did he become so thoughtful?

"I'm almost done. Please come up, " Adeline said.

"Alright."

While waiting for them to arrive, Adeline finished packing the remaining items.

After a while, there was a knock on the door.

Adeline opened it to find Rowen and several burly men besides him.

She twitched her lips slightly.

"Ms. Hensley. Rowen greeted her with a smile.

Adeline nodded and said, "Mr. Palmer. There's no need for so many people. Two would be enough."

"You don't have much stuff?"

"Not much, just two suitcases and some small odds and ends."

"Alright."

Two men immediately entered and picked up all of Adeline's luggage, heading out.

Adeline grabbed her keys and went outside, smiling at Rowen, "Mr. Palmer, thank you."

"You're welcome. I'm just following Mr. Thomson's instructions," Rowen said. "Mr.

Thomson is the one who truly cares about you."

Adeline found Rowen's words a bit strange.

But she didn't say anything, just smiled faintly.

The landlord lived on the ground floor. Adeline went to the landlord's door and knocked.

The door opened, and the landlord glanced at Rowen, then smiled warmly at Adeline.

"Adeline, What's up?"

"Sir, I'm sorry, but I won't be renting that room anymore. Here's the key," Adeline said.

"| apologize for not notifying you in advance."

She still had half a month's rent and the deposit, which technically couldn't be refunded according to the contract.

Adeline didn't intend to ask for it back. After all, she terminated the lease early.

Unexpectedly, the landlord smiled and said, "Oh, Adeline, it's Okay. You've been living here for several years. I don't mind that.

I'll refund your half month's rent and deposit, and I'll transfer it to you shortly."

"No need," Adeline hurriedly said. "It's settled."

The landlord took the key from Adeline's hand, not giving her a chance to refuse, and slammed the door shut.

Adeline was utterly baffled.

While the landlord wasn't a bad person, he had never been this easy-going before. What was going on today?

Rowen was still waiting, and Adeline didn't want to waste any more time, so she turned to Rowen and said, "Let's go."

"Alright."

Downstairs at the apartment building, Adeline saw two cars parked there.

One was the van for her luggage and the other... She recognized it. It was Harrison's car.

"Ms. Hensley, please get in. Mr. Thomson is waiting inside," Rowen said.

Adeline didn't expect Harrison to be here.

She approached and opened the front passenger door, intending to get in.

Rowen quickly walked over and said "I'll sit here. Ms. Hensley, please sit in the back."

Adeline had no choice but to move to the back and open the door.

Harrison was sitting in the back, looking at a tablet.

After settling in, Adeline turned to him and said, "Mr. Thomson, thank you for sending Mr. Palmer to help me."

Harrison responded with a cold “Hmm."

The driver started the car, and soon they arrived at Shurford Residence.

Adeline said to Harrison, "Then I'll go up now. Goodbye, Mr. Thomson."

Harrison didn't say anything, and Adeline didn't know what else to say. After bidding farewell to Rowen, she got out of the car.

Rowen glanced at Harrison through the rearview mirror and couldn't help but say, "Mr. Thomson, if you wanted to go upstairs, you could have just said so."

"Why do you think I wanted to?"

Harrison's voice was chilly. "Do you think I'm that bored?"

Rowen was speechless. Rowen thought,

"Then why did you rush over to chauffeur Ms. Hensley?”

Anyway, he decided not to say anything more to avoid angering Harrison.

Harrison put down the tablet, leaned back in his seat, and closed his eyes. But his brow remained furrowed.

Harrison thought, "That woman is so ungrateful, not even willing to invite me upstairs for coffee?"

Adeline entered her new home.

It was probably over 180 square meters, fully furnished.

After the two men helping her with the luggage left, Adeline closed the door and began unpacking.

She had considered cleaning up, but the place was spotless.

Adeline pushed open the door to one of the bedrooms.

The bed was already made with fresh sheets, and even the pillows were new.
