One night stand with my president(chapter 62)

Chapter 62: Russell Joins Them

After signing, Harrison returned the documents and pen to Adeline.

Throughout, his gaze never fell on her.

Adeline also seemed indifferent.

She took the documents and prepared to leave.

However, just then, Sam suddenly strode over.

"Ms. Hensley, since you're here, why rush to leave?"

Adeline smiled lightly, saying,

"There's still business at the company."

"Your boss is here. What urgent business could there be?" Sam interrupted, taking the documents from her hands.

Adeline was at a loss. "Mr. Juarez, what are you doing?"

"Since you're here, let's have fun," Sam insisted.

Before Adeline could respond, Eleanor approached them.

"So, this is Ms. Hensley," Eleanor smiled at her, "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Fraser." Adeline nodded politely.

Eleanor glanced at Harrison and then continued, "I heard you've been with Harrison for the past five years. Thank you for looking after him."

Adeline replied, "I'm simply Mr. Thomson's secretary. There's no 'looking after' involved."

Eleanor chuckled, "If I hadn't gone abroad, I'd probably be Harrison's chief secretary by now. But with your talents, I'm happy that he has you."

Adeline responded nonchalantly, "If you want to join the CEO's office, you can apply for it."

Eleanor was taken aback but maintained a smile, "Ms. Hensley, you have a sharp wit."

"As do you, Ms. Fraser."

Adeline had no intention of clashing with Eleanor, but if she was going to be provocative, Adeline couldn't remain passive.

Sam watched with interest from the side.

At that moment, Harrison said to Adeline, "You can go back now."

Adeline prepared to leave, but Eleanor suddenly blocked her path.

"Sam is right," Eleanor said.

"Since you're already here, why rush to leave? Join us for fun."

With that, she turned back to the others in the room and said, "You don't mind, do you?"

"Of course not."

"Yeah, the more the merrier," Everyone enthusiastically agreed.

Adeline frowned. She hadn't expected that she would have to stay.

If she insisted on leaving now, it would seem disrespectful to everyone in the room.

She turned to look at Harrison.

However, he remained silent.

Was it because Eleanor suggested she stay, so he agreed?

Eleanor followed Adeline's gaze and smiled, saying, "Are you worried that Harrison will object? Don't worry, with me here, he won' t mind. Come on, Ms. Hensley, sit over here."

Eleanor then pulled Adeline to sit on a single sofa.

"Ms. Hensley, don't be shy. They're all friendly. Feel free to order whatever you like to eat or drink."

After saying that, Eleanor turned around and walked over to Harrison.

"Harrison, how about playing some pool?"

She invited him with a cheerful smile.

Adeline sat across from Harrison.

She looked at him.

He also glanced up and looked in her direction.

The two locked eyes.

But there was Eleanor between them.

"Harrison, why are you ignoring me?"

Eleanor shifted aside, blocking Harrison's line of sight.

"I'm not interested," Harrison said calmly. "You go ahead and play."

"Harrison, we haven't played a proper game in five years. Come play with me."

Eleanor reached out to grab Harrison's hand.

Harrison subtly avoided her.

Even though Eleanor was in front of him, he could imagine how Adeline looked right now.

She must be sitting quietly, her expression cool and distant, as if nothing around her mattered.

Perhaps she was still working on her phone.

She had always been very dependable when it came to work.

Harrison stood up and said to Eleanor, "Let's go."

He was tall, so as he stood up, he looked over Eleanor's head and saw Adeline.

Just as he suspected, she hadn't even glanced in his direction.

Eleanor smiled, pulling him toward the billiards table while discreetly glancing at Adeline.

Adeline, however, was focused on her phone.

She seemed preoccupied with work and frowned slightly.

Eleanor's expression darkened slightly.

Despite the noise in the room, Adeline remained oblivious to it.

Perhaps it was because of Eleanor's presence that no one approached Adeline, and Adeline was content to handle work matters on her phone.

At that moment, a man suddenly said, "I just found out Russell is nearby. I invited him to join us”

"Russell?" Sam asked.

When Harrison heard this, his grip on the pool cue tightened.

"Yes. Our families are related to the Hunter family, so Russell is my cousin," the man explained.

Sam nodded and didn't think much.

Most of the people here don't have any issues with Russell, so it was not a big deal that he joined them.

But Harrison's gaze darkened gradually.

He turned to look at Adeline.

She was still focused on her phone, unaware of Russell's impending arrival.

What exactly was the relationship between her and Russell?

"Harrison, it's your turn. What are you looking at?"

Eleanor tugged at his arm.

Harrison averted his gaze, set the pool cue aside, and calmly said, " Nothing. I'm not in the mood to play.

"Feeling tired? Should I get you a drink?" Eleanor asked.

"No need."

Harrison stretched his legs and returned to his previous seat.

At that moment, Adeline stopped looking at her phone and glanced toward the door.

Harrison wondered if she was waiting for Russell to arrive.

In reality, Adeline simply wanted to leave, which was why she looked toward the door.

After a while, Adeline felt like leaving.

Just as she was about to ask Harrison if she could go, the door to the room was pushed

open.

It was Russell.

As soon as he entered, his gaze fell on Adeline.

However, it was only a moment before he averted his eyes.

But Harrison didn't miss that glance.

"Russell, there you are."

"Mr. Hunter is here."

Given the Hunter family's status and Russell's connection, the people in the room greeted him warmly, except for Harrison and Eleanor.

Eleanor had intended to greet Russell as well.

However, she sensed that Harrison wasn't particularly welcoming Russell.
