One night stand with my president(chapter 52)

Chapter 52: They Are a Couple

Adeline had seen Eleanor's movies before.

Eleanor was very beautiful and photogenic. A film critic once said she was made for the big screen.

She was doing well overseas, so her sudden return must be because of Harrison.

Adeline looked at the photo of them entering the hotel together.

The picture captured a moment when Harrison was looking at Eleanor.

His eyes were so tender.

It was a look that Adeline had never seen before.

"Adeline, are you fine? Are you listening to me?"

Joyce's voice brought Adeline back to reality.

At that moment, Adeline smelled something burning.

She saw that the egg was burnt.

She quickly turned off the stove and responded, "I'm listening. I had heard before that Mr. Thomson had a sweetheart, but I didn't know who it was. But looking at the situation, it seems to be Ms. Fraser."

"Alas..."

"What's wrong? Why are you sighing?" Adeline asked.

Joyce hesitated.

Last night, she thought Harrison and Adeline looked perfect together.

But now, Harrison was with his sweetheart.

Joyce thought, "Are Adeline and Harrison really impossible to be together?"

Should she still develop that photo she took?

"It's nothing, um, I have something else to attend to. I'll talk to you later," Adeline said.

"Okay."

After ending the call with Joyce, Adeline stared blankly at the burnt egg.

After a while, she shook her head.

Forget it. Whether Harrison's sweetheart came back or not, it had nothing to do with her.

Adeline didn't think she and Harrison would be together.

Initially, Adeline thought Harrison would marry Kaylie. Now it seemed Harrison refused to accept Kaylie because of Eleanor.

Whoever it was, it certainly wouldn't be her.

Adeline silently ate the burnt egg and then sat on the sofa, turned on her computer, and started studying.

As Harrison's chief secretary, she needed to be knowledgeable about many things.

Over the past five years, whether at work or during leisure time, she always learned something to enrich herself.

But what she liked learning most was her major in college, finance.

She was genuinely interested in finance and sometimes spent entire days studying it.

Once Adeline opened the study software, she immersed herself in the subject matter, pushing everything else to the back of her mind.

When she looked up from her computer, it was already past eleven in the morning.

Adeline picked up her phone.

Everywhere online was filled with news about Harrison and Eleanor.

Citizens  were discussing everything imaginable.

"I can't believe Harrison and Eleanor were each other's first love."

"I remember now. A couple of years ago, Eleanor mentioned in an interview that there was someone she couldn't forget. It turns out it was Harrison."

"Harrison is a business tycoon, and she is an international star.”

"Well, but I just read about Harrison's relationship with another woman recently. Did I get it wrong?"

"No, you didn't. Rumors had it that he was with Ms. Hensley."

"So, is Mr. Thomson with Eleanor or Ms. Hensley?"

"One is a famous actress, and the other is just an ordinary secretary. If it were you, who would you choose?"

"I think Ms. Hensley was trying to seduce Mr. Thomson while his girlfriend was away. Now that his girlfriend is back, Ms. Hensley has to step aside."

"Ms. Hensley trying to compare with Eleanor? It's ridiculous."

Adeline didn't expect to find herself involved in this. She couldn't help but smile wryly.

There was nothing she could do.

Even though the previous gossip about her and Harrison was quickly taken down, many people still saw it. So some mentioned this matter.

But Adeline was confused. When she and Harrison's photo made it to the entertainment news, Harrison immediately had it removed.

Now his affair with Eleanor had been spreading all morning online, and Harrison remained silent.

The reason was simple. His relationship with Adeline was fake, so he didn't want such fabricated news to spread.

But he and Eleanor might be a real couple.

So he didn't mind if everyone knew about them, or perhaps he was eager for everyone to know that he and Eleanor were true love.

Adeline closed the entertainment app.

She had planned to eat lunch and continue studying, but now, she lost her appetite, so she decided to continue studying instead.

However, at that moment, her phone rang.

Adeline picked it up. It was an unfamiliar number.

Due to her job, she never declined calls from unknown numbers, so she quickly answered,

"Hello."

"Is this Ms. Hensley?" a cautious male voice sounded on the other end.

"Yes, who is this?"

"This is Darian Larson."

Hearing that name, Adeline frowned.

A hint of disgust flashed in her eyes.

Adeline knew Darian, the chairman of the Larson Group and Dawson's father.

Although the person who harassed her last night wasn't Darian, he was Dawson's father. Therefore, Adeline didn't have a good impression of him.

"Mr. Larson, what can I do for you?" Adeline asked coldly and politely.

Despite her disgust, Adeline remained composed.

This was the chairman of the Larson Group, and she couldn't afford to confront him.

"Ms. Hensley, here's the thing. I heard about the mess my child caused last night, and I was furious. I gave him a good beating and sent him back overseas."

Hearing this, Adeline was somewhat surprised.

Darian calling at this moment made her vaguely aware of something, but when she heard Darian's words, she couldn't help but be surprised.

How did Darian know about last night?

Could it be that Dawson voluntarily told him?

Dawson didn't tell him, and she didn't tell anyone else. Could it be Russell?

Apart from the two of them, Russell was the only one who knew about Dawson harassing her last night.

Russell was the only one who knev about Dawson harassing her last night.

"I didn't expect him to have improper intentions towards you. It's my fault."

Dawson kept apologizing. "Please don't be angry. He will never return to the country again."

Adeline regained her composure and said, "Mr. Larson, rest assured, now that Dawson is gone, I won't dwell on this matter."

She had been planning her revenge.

Unexpectedly, she didn't need to take action.

Darian heaved a sigh and smiled,"Ms. Hensley, you're so generous. No wonder Mr. Thomson kept you b his side."

Hearing him mention Harrison, Adeline couldn't help but wonder, " Could it be that he pressured the Larson family?"
