One night stand with my president(chapter 46)

Chapter 46: Poach Adeline

Joyce didn't know why Sam suddenly asked for her name.

She thought, "Is he trying to remember it to settle scores later?"

"My name is Jemma Aguirre," Joyce replied without changing her expression.

"Jemma?" Sam said with a smile.

"That's an interesting name. Are you a journalist?"

"Well, sort of," Joyce didn't want to reveal her real profession.

After tonight, they probably wouldn't meet again anyway.

In a few minutes, aman holding a camera hurried over.

"Mr. Juarez, here's the camera you wanted."

"Great, thanks."

Sam took the camera, checked it, and confirmed that it was working before handing it to Joyce.

"Here's your camera."

Joyce took it and was shocked when she saw the brand.

This was the camera she had wanted before, but it was too expensive, and she couldn't afford it even after saving for years.

She never expected to hold it in her hands now.

Joyce's eyes lit up as she held the camera, not wanting to let go.

Seeing her reaction, Sam smiled and said, "You can use this camera for now. I'll get your camera fixed as soon as possible."

"Thank you."

With that, Joyce hastily left.

Back at the venue, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Joyce thought, "It seems that he is nice, and he's quite good-looking."

If it had been an arrogant and overbearing rich man, things might have been different.

Joyce never thought she'd have a chance to use this camera, but she still felt sorry for her beloved camera. She hoped Sam could get it fixed.

The auction began.

Rows of chairs were already set up in the venue.

Given Harrison's status, he sat in the front row.

Adeline sat beside him.

Dawson was in the third row, his gaze fixed on Adeline's back.

Joyce had a seat but stood to take photos instead.

When Joyce saw Harrison and Adeline sitting together, her face lit up with joy.

Harrison and Adeline were such a perfect match, and their auras were so complementary.

Joyce couldn't understand why Adeline was so convinced that there was nothing between her and Harrison.

Joyce couldn't help but raise her camera and take a picture of Harrison and Adeline.

They were so eye-catching.

When she developed the photo, she would put it in a frame as a gift for Adeline.

Harrison showed no interest in the previous items at the auction.

However, when a sapphire necklace appeared on stage, Harrison suddenly felt a stir in his heart.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this sapphire necklace first appeared in the seventeenth century and has been preserved until

today, passing through many hands before finally coming to us," the host smiled as he introduced it. "It's said that those who have owned this sapphire necklace have found true love."

Laughter erupted from the audience.

They didn't believe that a gem could bring love, but the necklace was beautiful, and many were tempted to bid for it.

"Kaylie, isn't this necklac gorgeous?" Carla said eagerly.

Kaylie replied, "It is, but its price must be bid up."

"Yeah, I have no chance," Carla sighed. "My dad won't let me spend a lot of money on a necklace. Kaylie, why don't you bid for it?"

The Hickman family was wealthier than the Foreman family, and Kaylie had some savings.

Carla thought that if Kaylie could win the necklace, maybe she could borrow it in the future.

Kaylie remained silent, casting a sidelong glance at Harrison.

Seeing Harrison looking at the sapphire necklace, she frowned slightly.

"Does Harrison intend to bid? If so, who is it for?" Kaylie thought.

While the host continued talking on stage, Adeline whispered to Harrison, "Mr. Thomson, I'll go to the restroom."

"Sure, go ahead."

Adeline got up and left.

After she left, Dawson also got up and walked toward the restroom.

The restroom was outside the banquet hall, so there weren't many people around.

As Adeline emerged from the restroom, she saw Dawson leaning against the corridor wall.

He didn't look like he was there for the restroom. He seemed to be waiting for her.

Annoyance welled up in Adeline's eyes. Without looking at Dawson, she intended to leave.

Dawson blocked her path. "You're Ms. Hensley, right?"

Dawson asked with a smile.

With so many people at the venue, he had already found out Adeline's identity.

"It's none of your business. Please move aside," Adeline said coldly.

"I sincerely want to be friends with you. You don't have to be so cold," Dawson said. "Ms. Hensley, I'm about to become the head of the Larson Group's branch. How about being my secretary? I will offer you double what Harrison pays you. Plus, there are all sorts of benefits, more than you can imagine."

His tone was extremely lecherous.

Adeline understood what he meant.

She thought, "Hadn't the Larson Group's chairman informed his son of the situation in the country?"

But thinking of Joshua, who dared to lay his hands on her despite knowing she was Harrison's secretary, Adeline felt that people like them were spoiled by their families, just doing whatever they pleased.

But Dawson was trying to poach Adeline.

if Harrison found out, Dawson might not be able to be the head of the branch.

"I'm not interested in changing jobs right now. Also, I  need get back to the venue. move aside immediate or I will call security,"

Adeline's refusal infuriated Dawson.

He grabbed Adeline's wrist aggressively and said, "You don't appreciate my kindness, huh? If it weren't for your looks, do you think I'd waste my time with you?"

In an instant, the overwhelming sense of despair she felt when Joshua humiliated her came rushing back.

Adeline trembled slightly, but she managed to maintain her composure her face pale as she said, "Let go of me.”

"I won't let go. What can you do?" Dawson laughed recklessly.

"You want security? With my dad around, who dares lay a finger on me?"

His words sent a chill down Adeline's spine. She was disgusted by Dawson's grip on her wrist, wishing she could wipe out this man in front of her.

Just then, footsteps sounded behind her, and someone stepped up beside her, forcefully pulling Dawson away.
