Chapter 30: Settle the Scores

Adeline nodded and said, "Thank you, Mr. Thomson."

Harrison didn't say anything else and turned to leave.

Adeline closed the door and headed to the bathroom.

Although Joshua hadn't done anything to her, his dirty hands had touched her, making Adeline feel disgusted.

Once in the bathroom, she meticulously took a shower and scrubbed her skin so

vigorously that it felt like it might break.

Wrapped in a bathrobe, Adeline saw the medication on the coffee table.

She walked over to the sofa, intending to take the medicine, but suddenly found herself staring into space.

What Harrison did today was indeed out of her expectations.

Not only did he save her, but he also took her to the hospital, got her medication, and even sent her home.

He even escorted her to her doorstep and suggested she take a few days off.

Having been by his side for five years, Adeline had always thought of him as cold and indifferent, not caring much about others.

But now, it seemed that wasn't the case.

Coming back to her senses, Adeline applied the medication to herself.

As the cool medication touched her skin, she felt more at ease.

Harrison came down from upstairs.

When he just got into the car, he received a call.

He answered and asked indifferently, "What's the situation?"

"Mr. Thomson, that man is now in our hands," Rowen's voice came from the other end. "He kept shouting that his father is a senior executive at the Thomson Group, so I checked, and he is the son of the deputy director of the HR department."

Harrison let out a cold laugh.

His reaction sent shivers down Rowen's spine.

"So, what do we do now?" Rowen asked.

"Since he's Camryn's son, let's invite Camryn over as well," Harrison said coldly.

"Understood."

Half an hour later, Harrison sat on the sofa in the private room of the clubhouse, with Rowen standing behind him.

Camryn stood in front of him and looked pale-faced, not daring toBbreathe heavily.

His son, Joshua, was lying at his feet.

Joshua's head was already bandaged but it looked hastily done, probably just to stop his blood from flowing.

Camryn felt distressed, but looking at Harrison's expression, he didn't dare to show concern for his son.

After arriving here, he had already known something. Joshua must have done something to offend Harrison.

This troublemaker was audacious, daring to offend Harrison.

Ten minutes had passed, but Harrison still hadn't spoken.

Camryn was on pins and needles.

After pondering for a while, he asked, "Mr. Thomson, what... What happened?"

"You're asking me?" Harrison coldly said, "You should ask your good son if he's dissatisfied with me. He even dared to bully my man!"

Camryn was shocked and quickly said, "Mr. Thomson, there must be some misunderstanding. He wouldn't dare to do so! My son is a troublemaker, but he absolutely wouldn't dare to offend you. If he did something wrong, it must have been unintentional. Please spare him this time."

Harrison remained silent, just looking at Camryn coldly.

Camryn broke out in a cold sweat under his gaze.

Asking Harrison to spare Joshua was impossible.

He gritted his teeth, forced himself to be ruthless, and kicked Joshua hard.

"You scoundrel! What have you done? Apologize to Mr. Thomson right now!"

Joshua was still groggy at this point.

After being kicked by Camryn, he only mumbled a few incomprehensible words.

Despite his reluctance, Camryn could only kick him several more times.

He could only hope that Harrison would take pity on them.

Joshua groaned weakly.

"Mr. Thomson, what... What did he do wrong? I'll definitely discipline him!" Camryn said anxiously.

"I didn't call you here to answer your questions," Harrison said.

Camryn's heart sank. Harrison was truly angry, and what Camryn had done just now wasn't enough to appease Harrison's anger.

They were done for.

In the past, Joshua had done many absurd things, but Camryn had managed to cover them up, either by coercion or bribery. The victims could only swallow their grievances.

But now, Joshua had provoked Harrison. 

How could Camryn cover it up? Anyway, Joshua was his son. If Camryn hadn't indulged and spoiled him, Joshua wouldn't have repeatedly done those absurd things.

"Mr. Thomson, I..”

Harrison impatiently interrupted him, "Since you can't explain your son's matter, let's talk about yours first."

Camryn's heart skipped a beat, but he maintained an innocent expression on his face. "Mine? Mr. Thomson, what about mine?"

Harrison chuckled as if mocking his feigned ignorance.

Meanwhile, Rowen threw a folder onto the table, saying expressionlessly, "Mr. Reed, these are records of you using your position for personal gain over the past month."

Camryn's mind went blank suddenly.

He had been with the Thomson Group for over ten years, promoted to deputy director of the HR department six years ago. Perhaps because he considered himself a "senior" member, he had started to gain benefits for himself these past two years.

But he had only started implementing them a month ago, and he had done so very discreetly.

How did Harrison know everything?

"You've been scheming behind my back, Camryn. Do you think too highly of yourself or too little of me?"

Harrison's tone was calm, but for Camryn, it sounded like the tolling of a death knell.

He said with a defeated look, "Mr. Thomson, I was wrong. I've never done such things before. I only started recently. Please spare me for the sake of my years of hard work for the company."

"If I spare you, another executive will follow your example, and more people will be even more excessive than you. Should I spare them all because of their years of hard work?"

Camryn was speechless, his face drenched in sweat.

In fact, Camryn knew he couldn't defend himself. He had been with the Thomson Group for so many years, and the company had always been generous to him in terms of salary, bonuses, and various benefits.

Joshua had always been causing trouble because Camryn was a high-ranking official of the Thomson Group.

Now that Camryn had done something to damage the company's interests and profit himself, why should Harrison forgive him?

Camryn knew this, but he still had to find a way out for himself.

Camryn braved himself to say, "I need to call Mr. Lorenzo Thomson."

Lorenzo Thomson was Harrison's grandfather, who had previously been in charge of the Thomson Group. Five years ago, he retired and handed over everything to Harrison.

Lorenzo had praised Camryn before, saying he was capable.

Now, Camryn could only pin his hopes on Lorenzo.
