One night stand with my president(chapter 25)

Chapter 25 Find Out That Woman

Harrison suddenly thought of the image of kissing the woman that night.

At that time, he didn't have much consciousness.

But now, the memories of that moment suddenly became clear.

And he couldn't remember that woman's face.

Harrison suddenly realized that this wasn't the first time he had thought of that woman in front of Adeline.

This was rather strange.

"Could it be that she was Adeline?"

A thought flashed through Harrison's mind.

But immediately, he felt that it was too absurd.

Just as the two remained silent, Adeline's phone rang.

The ringtone instantly shattered the awkward atmosphere. Adeline, feeling relieved, quickly took out her phone and answered,

"Hello?"

The person on the other end said something, and Adeline's expression became serious.

"Are you sure?"

"Okay, I understand."

After hanging up the phone, Adeline said, "Mr. Thomson, the person who set you up that night has been identified."

"Who?"

"It's Kaylie."

Harrison suddenly looked gloomy.

Adeline knew he was angry, but it wasn't directed at her, so she continued, "I found out that after that night, a waitress resigned.

I've been tracking her whereabouts, and when we found her, she said a man gave her money to tamper with your drink. Interestingly, the man met her in a place with a very concealed surveillance camera, which they probably didn't notice, so they didn't destroy the surveillance there. After checking the footage, I found that the man was from the Hickman Group."

"Is there any other evidence?" Harrison asked.

After all, Kaylie was from the Hickman family.

Without solid evidence, he couldn't accuse her rashly.

"Yes," Adeline said, "I had the drink you had that night tested and found a drug in it. This drug is expensive and scarce, only available from overseas. In the past three months, the only person who purchased this drug from abroad was Kaylie's friend, Carla Foreman. Also, on the night you were at the hotel, Kaylie was there, staying in a room very close to yours. It's just Kaylie's grandmother suddenly fell ill, so Kaylie hurriedly went to the hospital."

One piece of evidence related to Kaylie could be a coincidence, but with so much evidence present, it couldn't all be a coincidence.

Harrison chuckled coldly and said,

"the Hickman family really got something."

Myra had been trying to set him up with Kaylie. If Myra knew that the "daughter-in-law" she fancied was drugging her son, Harrison wondered what she would think.

While he was angry, Adeline was also thinking.

She wondered why Kyson would message her to buy condoms for Harrison.

Was it also arranged by Kaylie?

Why?

But she dared not tell Harrison what she was thinking.

If she did, Harrison might suspect that she was the woman from that night.

As she was thinking this, Harrison suddenly said, "So, the woman who came to my room that night wasn't Kaylie or someone sent by Aprico Group."

If it was someone sent by Aprico Group, there would have been some movement by now.

Aprico Group now had a grudge against him, and if they had such leverage, they would have come to threaten him long ago.

Adeline's heart skipped a beat.

It seemed like she was inviting trouble.

"Let's find out who it is," Harrison said.

Initially, he thought the woman was either related to Aprico Group or the person who set him up.

But now it seemed she might be innocent.

In any case, it was best to find out who she was.

Harrison's words left Adeline speechless.

Didn't they decide not to investigate anymore?

Although she had found out that Kaylie was the mastermind behind the scenes, it seemed like Adeline had dragged herself into trouble.

"Ms. Hensley?" Harrison looked at her with a complex expression. "Is there a problem?"

Adeline realized that she hadn't responded to Harrison.

She quickly said, "No problem, it's just that the surveillance footage from that night at the hotel has been destroyed, and no one at the hotel saw anyone enter your room, so it might be difficult to investigate."

"Is that so?" Harrison's tone was meaningful.

Since Adeline became his chief secretary, he had given her many difficult tasks.

But she rarely was backed out by difficulties.

She usually accepted his orders immediately and went to handle them. This time was an exception.

Adeline quickly added, "But I will do my best."

She was afraid that Harrison would let someone else handle it. Then she would not have a chance to save herself from trouble.

Harrison looked at her and said,

"You never disappoint me."

Adeline lowered her eyes, not responding.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the office door.

Since the lounge door wasn't closed, they could hear the knock.

"I'll go open it," Adeline said.

But before she could take a step, Harrison had already gone out.

Harrison walked to the office door and opened it.

Standing at the door was a woman holding a shoebox. As soon as she saw him, she smiled.

Harrison remembered that she was the new assistant who Adeline said wasn't suitable for the job.

"Mr. Thomson, l've come to deliver the shoes," Millie said sweetly.

After saying this, she didn't hand the shoebox to Harrison but tried to walk into the office.

Harrison directly blocked her from entering and said coldly, "I remember I didn't ask for you."

"Oh, Anna had something to do, so I'm delivering the shoes for her," Millie said.

"Give it to me, and you can leave."

Millie was a bit unwilling, but Harrison had said so, and she didn' t dare to disobey. She handed the shoebox to Harrison and turned to leave.

Harrison then closed the office door.

Millie stood at the door, looking unhappy.

Just then, Anna returned.

Seeing Millie still standing there, she said, "I advise you to focus on your work. All these efforts are in vain. Do you know what kind of shoes Mr. Thomson asked for just now?"

"What kind of shoes?" Millie asked hurriedly.

"They are high heels," Anna said. Also, since Ms. Hensley entered Mr. Thomson's office just now, she hasn't come out."

Anna intended to make Millie give up.

But Millie's attention was all on Adeline.

She thought, "No wonder Adeline didn't let me get close to Mr. Thomson. This bitch has hooked up with Mr. Thomson! Well, just wait, when Joshua is done with you, I'll see if Mr. Thomson still wants you!"
