One night stand with my president(chapter 29)

Chapter 29: ls He Your Boyfriend?

"I won't go back there again," Adeline said softly.

Harrison didn't say anything more, and soon the car stopped at the hospital entrance.

It was late now, but there were doctors on duty at the hospital.

The doctor examined Adeline and said it was just superficial injuries. He prescribed some medication and advised her to apply it for two days. He also gave her some precautions.

Adeline listened silently as the doctor spoke. Just as she was about to speak, Harrison said,

"Thank you."

"You're welcome," the doctor said, giving him a strange look.

Just as Adeline was puzzled, Harrison's phone rang.

He went out to take the call, and the doctor immediately asked Adeline, "Do you need me to call the police?"

Adeline shuddered.

She thought. "Could the doctor tell that I was almost been...”

"The guy just now is your boyfriend, right? Judging by your face and the scratches on your neck, you've been beaten. Is he abusing you?" The doctor said with concern, "You must bravely say no to this situation. Don't tolerate it!"

Adeline was stunned for a moment and then said, "No, you misunderstood. He's not my boyfriend, and these injuries weren't caused by him. On the contrary, he saved me."

"Oh, I see," the doctor was a bit embarrassed. "That explains it. How could such a handsome young man do such a thing?"

"Anyway, thank you," Adeline said with a smile.

"You're welcome. My daughter is about your age and working in another city. Sometimes, I worry about her being bullied..."

The doctor chatted with her for a while, oblivious to the bitterness and disappointment in Adeline's eyes.

Parents love their children the most, but Adeline was a poor kid.

After a while, Harrison returned from his call.

The doctor gave them a prescription and asked them to pick up the medication.

After they came out, Harrison asked Adeline to sit on the bench in the corridor while he went to get the medicine.

"Mr. Thomson, I'll go get it myself," Adeline said uneasily.

Harrison had never done such a thing to others.

Harrison glanced at her and said calmly,

"I've been with you for the examination, a few more steps won't hurt. Do I look lazy to you?"

Adeline said, "I didn't mean that."

"Then sit tight."

Harrison returned with the medication and saw a young male doctor chatting with Adeline.

The doctor's face was full of enthusiasm, and whatever he said made Adeline laugh.

Harrison's eyes narrowed, and he walked over quickly.

He stood beside Adeline, not even sparing a glance at the male doctor, and said coldly, "Let's go.”

"Oh, Okay."

Adeline immediately stood up.

When the male doctor saw Harrison, he hesitated for a moment, then tentatively asked, "Is he your boyfriend?"

Just as Adeline was about to say no, she suddenly heard Harrison impatiently say, "Are we leaving or not?"

Adeline thought, "Fine, he's the boss and he has the final say."

L

Adeline smiled politely at the male doctor and then followed Harrison out.

The male doctor watched her leave with a look of regret.

After leaving the hospital and getting into the car, Harrison handed the medication to Adeline.

Holding the medication, Adeline glanced at him cautiously and asked, "Mr. Thomson, what happened when you went to get the medication just now?"

"Nothing," Harrison said coldly.

Adeline wondered why he was angry.

The driver seemed to sense that something was wrong and discreetly raised the partition, afraid that Harrison's anger would affect him.

After driving for a while, Harrison suddenly asked, "Do you know that male doctor?"

Adeline was lost in thought, and Harrison's sudden question startled her.

Coming back to her senses, Adeline said, "No."

"Then why were you chatting so happily?" Harrison sneered, "You were smiling so brightly."

Adeline said with a wry smile, "I wasn't. I was just being polite."

Just now, while she was waiting for Harrison, the male doctor came over to chat with her.

Out of politeness, she chatted with him.

How could Harrison think she was happy?

Hearing her words, Harrison frowned and recalled her appearance just now.

But no matter how he recalled it, he always felt that she was smiling brightly.

Harrison felt extremely displeased, but when he thought of what Adeline had experienced tonight, he didn't want to continue being cold to her. So he softened his tone and said, "In the future, talk less with strange men."

"Yes," Adeline said, "but I have to entertain and talk to strangers when I'm with you for business."

"That's different," Harrison said.

With him by her side, he could prevent something dangerous.

But Adeline didn't quite understand what was different.

Whatever Harrison said was the golden rule, especially after he had just saved her.

After a while, Adeline spoke again,"Anyway, thank you very much tonight, Mr. Thomson. I can't think of how to repay you. I'll just work harder in the future."

After all, Harrison lacked nothing.

She racked her brains but could only come up with working harder in the future as a way to repay him.

Harrison snorted and said, "Working hard is what you should do, but I didn't save you for you to repay me."

"I know," Adeline hastened to say, "You're kind-hearted and brave.”

"That's enough," Harrison said expressionlessly.

Adeline coughed and stopped her flattery.

The car stopped downstairs at her apartment.

Adeline opened the car door, preparing to get out. Seeing the pitch-black night outside, she instinctively shrank back.

From the hospital until now, Harrison had always been with her, so she felt safe.

But now, facing the darkness alone, Adeline suddenly felt a wave of fear creeping over her.

Harrison's eyes narrowed slightly.

He got out of the car first, then came around to Adeline's side and said, "Get out of the car. I'll take you upstairs."

His words made Adeline feel a lot more at ease.

Harrison accompanied Adeline in the elevator and then all the way to her doorstep.

Adeline entered the password and opened the door.

She asked, "Mr. Thomson, would you like to come in?"

Originally, she wanted to invite Harrison in for a drink out of politeness and gratitude, but as soon as she said it, she suddenly felt a bit awkward, as if she was extending some sort of invitation to him.

"No need," Harrison said indifferently. "You should rest early. I'll give you a few days off to recuperate."
