EPISODE 95
Humans aren't called social beings by accident, we are called that because that is what we actually are. Even when God created Eve for Adam, he did that because he knew Adam needed her, he didn't create an animal but another human.
The sight was pathetic to behold. Tess stood there all alone beside her mother’s grave with a white rose in her hand, nobody, not even a single soul came around to mourn with her.
Tess turned as she heard footsteps coming behind her. This was the last person she ever expected to be here today.
It was Jake.
He had pleaded with Joey to help plead on his behalf to let him see the woman whom he called mother for a good part of his years on earth one last time.
"You came?" Tess asked him as he walked in with a black rose in his hand.
"Why...why wouldn't I!" He exclaimed.
The moment he got to the grave, he fell into it and sobbed like a two-year-old., Despite the hate he bore for Mrs. Mallory in his heart, he still loved her, she was his mother, after all, not biologically but she still was. "Who told you to die? Whoever permitted you to
or ever even said you could do so?" He lamented in pain. "You always do what
you won't don't you! You were always like this, you didn't care much about others as long as you were happy. satisfied, and okay, you couldn't care less about how the other person felt!"
He cried.
Tess just stood beside him, unable to understand why Jake was crying as much as he was. The police officers who came with him stood some feet away.
"Even on that night too, you were also like this, it was fine as long as you were satisfied! But! Do you know what that one night did to the life of this boy!" He yelled as he stroke himself on his chest. "Do you even care?" He asked again. "You haven't paid for what you did who said you could die. Who said You could die such a painless death!"
Jake smacked the flower on the grave that all the petals fell off and it became nothing but a naked stick. After that, he started digging out the grave with his hands.
"What is wrong with you?" Tess said as she held on to him trying to stop him.
"What are you doing?" She asked him still holding on to him.
In his rage and fury, Jake pushed her away not minding where she was going to land, or what she was going to land on.
The cops noticed this and then they ran to the scene.
"Come out from there! You can't die now! You can't die now! Come out!"
Jake kept screaming as they dragged him across the floor, and then they flung him into the van.
“What exactly could he mean by all this?" Tess asked herself. "Ouch!" She cried out in pain as she tried to stand up. She had sprained her ankle when he fell to the ground. She hopped closer to the grave.
"What did you not tell me? What don't I know about?" She asked Mrs. Mallory who was already six feet into the ground.
************
The weather was nice, and strangely very bright. As weird as it may sound it came with an energy that exhumes happiness. You could call today a happy day.
"Unmask!" Joey screamed.
There was murmuring in the room. No one believed what they just heard.
"Unmask!" Joey said again for the second time. "It is an order!" He added.
Everyone took off their mask. For the first time in forever, the legion saw the faces of one another.
"Now introduce yourselves," Joey said.
The look on everyone's face, the smile, the happiness that was evident on their face, this moment was priceless.
One could only imagine how these people must have felt having to put on a mask and unable to see what the other looked like.
The moment Kai saw Allen, her heart skipped a beat. She had been searching for him ever since. She kept staring at him until her stare forced Allen to look in her direction. She immediately took her eyes away, but it was too late though, Allen already saw
her staring, and he also couldn't stop stealing glances at her.
"Why boss?" Orange asked.
"Why?" Joey asked himself as he smirked. "I don't know. Even I don't know why! But there is one thing! do know, that the legion is not just a team but a family, and rather than being each other's weaknesses, I believe, and I - know, we would be the strength of one another.
They were all so happy and ran to hug one another.
"You were on my team!"
"We all went to South Korea together!"
"We worked together spying!"
"You ate my chips that day at Itaewon!"
They all kept saying as they're remembered the memories of the missions they embarked on.
"Why did I ever ask them to wear masks What was I ever thinking?" Joey asked himself as teardrops rolled down his cheeks. He was too happy not to cry.
Mandy noticed the tears and then she gave him a side shoulder hug. "See how happy they are right now, you made this happen! I don't know what you think you've done, but all I know you've done is build an unbreakable family bond." Mandy said giving off a bright smile.
It's been ages since such a smile was seen around the Brandon's. Mandy kept moving her head sideways.
"Is everything okay?" Joey asked her when he noticed it.
"Erm...yeah, I am!" She said.
"Are you sure?" He asked again because he wasn't seeing a facial expression that complimented the response she gave him.
"Yh I am...l am.. Ouch!" Mandy screamed. Her eyes quickly went straight to the calendar and she could see the date she had circled with a blue pen. "What date is it today?" She asked Joey.
"28th" He replied. "Why? Is it today?"
He asked.
Mandy couldn't say anything as she was trying to hold in the pain, she could barely manage to nod her head in affirmation.
"Yes." She tried saying.
"What did you say?" Joey asked her as he couldn't hear her properly. He was confused as it is.
"Yes!" Mandy uttered out in annoyance.
"Oh my God! Everyone the baby coming! The baby is coming!" He kept screaming. "What do we do? Anyone got any idea?" He asked.
Joey was losing it. He was sweating, even more than the person who was in labor.
"The car keys boss?" Peekaboo asked Joey.
"A car key? What's that?" Joey asked.
At that moment, Joey didn't know what anything was anymore.
"A car key, to start the car so we could Unmask! take her to the hospital." Peekaboo explained slowly.
"Oh, that! You should have asked me for my car key!" Joey exclaimed.
"But that was..." Peekaboo swallowed back the remaining words as he watched Joey dash off.
"Uhmm...hmmm..oooooh..awuuuh...aw
uuuh! Mandy kept exclaiming at intervals.
"Here they are! So what next?" Joey asked.
"We take her to the hospital!" Peekaboo said.
Everyone was just confused and all over the place. They were doing something but at the same time doing nothing. While Ellen assisted Peekaboo in taking Mandy into the car with, Angel with them, and Joey following them behind, Kai stopped Joey.
"What about the baby items?" She asked him.
"Baby items...baby items...baby items." Joey kept saying to himself. At that moment, he also didn't know what baby items meant.
"Oh, the things for the baby! You should have asked me for the baby items." He said.
Kai was dumbfounded. "But that was what I..." She swallowed back the rest of her words as Joey sprinted off.
"All of this!" Kai exclaimed.
"I don't know which is needed and which isn't, plus, we don't have so much time so, let's go with everything and leave the hospital to take the one they need." He said as he got into the other car with Kai and Allen.
Orange and the rest stayed back in the house, all praying in the language they understand and the way they know how to for Mandy's safe delivery.
Unusual traffic started. Joey kept trying the number of Mandy and the people that went with her to know if they were also stuck in the traffic or if they were able to escape it but none of them were answering or returning the calls.
Back at the residence, however, different phones kept ringing, turned out everyone except Joey had left their phones at home.
"Oh, why today! Of all days why today?
And of all moments why now?" Joey was tensed up, restless and uneasy.
The more worried he became the bright the sun shines and the more beautiful and intriguing the atmosphere looked.
Everywhere kept reeking of happiness.
On the face of everyone was a smile.
"God please I know I don't pray or call on you, but, could you just make this whole traffic go away!" Joey prayed in his heart.
In less than five seconds after his request, vehicles started moving again.
Joey was shocked and scared, surprised and happy. "I don't know if this is just a mere coincidence or...but whatever it may be, thank you, Jesus!" He said happily within him.
While everyone was busy with their own thoughts, Mandy was where she was wondering how she would be able to push out her baby with his size.
Fear gripped her. And fear is the last emotion a lady in labor should feel.
"Push!" The doctor said. Mandy didn't, she was scared.
🌲🌲happy new year 🥰🥰
