EPISODE 75

Mandy's favorite object at the moment was her human sized dressing mirror.

Mandy always loved acting, she just never had a chance to divulge her acting skills, well, not until Joey gave her this mission.

She made it a daily routine to always

rehearse her lines. Everyday she came

up with new lines, she needed not be told that on the day when she would need to publicly display her acting skills, she would say nothing of what she was rehearsing at the moment.

One thing she would do though, is maintain this gaze. The gaze she's been rehearsing to keep wasn't just intimidating, but comforting as well. It had their weird comforting intimidation. While she makes you feel comfortable to say things even you didn't plan to say, things you've never told anyone or ever imagined telling anyone, you would feel intimidated at the same time having no other choice than to give in to everything she asks of you. 

That wasn't a gaze anyone could pull off, only Mandy could. With practice obviously.

"Yes! Who's there?" Mandy asked the

person who was knocking on the door.

"Delivery ma'am!" The deep voice replied.

"Delivery?" Mandy asked herself. "I don't. don't remember making any orders." She said to herself.

Immediately she remembered the last conversation she had with Joey, he had asked her not to open the door to any

strange person. He didn't specify why though. Mandy's hands became sweaty, she started fidgeting and her legs became wobbly. Her heart raced really fast and thumped really loud.

"Ma'am! Open up! You don't wanna keep me waiting you know!" The deep voice said again, almost like he was singing a song.

All of a sudden loud noise started playing and Mandy could hear the door being broken. She was terrified, she didn't know what to do or who to call.

At that moment she didn't think of the possibility of calling Joey or Peekaboo. She picked up her phone few seconds after she came back to her senses. The music stopped playing and the banging on the door stopped. She dialed Joey's number, it kept ringing but no one picked up. Joey had left his phone at home. This wasn't something

Joey would ever do, but it had to happen, today of all the days.

"Pick up! Pick up! Pick up!" Mandy cried. Like literally cried. Tears were already rolling down her cheeks.

Suddenly the music started again, but the banging on the door didn't. The next moment, the door opened.

"Surpirse!" The man with the deep voice screamed. "I told you you didn't want to keep me waiting." The man with the deep voice said again as he stood at the door.

Mandy's phone slipped away from her hand and it fell forcefully on the floor. It could survive the hit, it opened up with its parts at different locations.

Now she couldn't call anyone for help, and she couldn't pick up if anyone wanted to call.

Mandy kept panting and gasping for breath. 

"So this is my end!" Mandy said within her, fear flowing in her veins.

"Mini mini mani mo! There is no way out for you, No!" The man said with a mocking laughter.

"So, what was it you were yapping about?" Jake asked Joey.

"Yapping? Who me? Now that's a bit too harsh don't you think?" Joey said.

"Anyways, I would keep yapping then. Your mother, isn't your mother. Tess, the lady who caused a ruckus at your place some months ago, she is, your sister, or maybe not since you don't share the same blood. Well Mrs Mallory connived with her daughter Tess, to take away the Santorini deal. If you think I'm lying, just wait here for a while, in the next one hour thirty minutes, a group of investors would arrive here with your not so real mother, to sign an agreement contract behind your back." Joey said.

"You expect me to believe the garbage you just spout out. Really!"

"Oh stop pretending, you know know, that you know, she is not your mother. What are you so afraid of? Don't tell me you are afraid of being abandoned? Hah!" Joey said mockingly covering his mouth.

Joey though, he knew how to piss people off. And he was good at planting ideas in your head.

"Why are you telling me all of this?" Jake asked.

"Leave Mandy alone." Joey said within him."I just hope you can spot your real enemies and focus your resources on them, rather than chasing stars." Joey said to Jake.

 "How did you know about all of this?"Jake asked Joey who already stood up to take his leave.

Joey just looked at him and smiled saying nothing at all, then he walked away.
