LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX(Episode 66)

                              EPISODE 66

"Good morning Boss!" Stacy said standing to greet Jake as he walked into the office. "I have your schedule for today ready sir. Do you want it now or should I bring it to your office later?" She asked with a smile on her face.

Jake was bewildered. Did she not go through the file? Was this question resounding in her head. "Oh no no! You can hand them over to me now. I would go through them the moment I get in." Jake said as he collected the schedule book from her. "So I don't even have a lunch break, are you serious right now”  Jake exclaimed the moment he saw how tight his schedule was.

"I'm sorry sir!" Stacy apologized like it was her fault. "I tried my best to postpone some meetings but they are just too many. Ever since the news about The New Dawn investing in our company got out, almost every investor, both within and outside the country wants to sign a deal with us. That is practically the reason for the schedule being so tight." Stacy explained.

"When did the news break?" Jake asked.

"I really don't know about that sir. I don't know the how nor the when, all I know is that the news is out already. I would have loved to handpick potential investors whom I believe would have a better offer but no, I rather want to give every investor the chance to try and get the deal, who knows the company I might eliminate might end up being just what we need." Stacy explained further. "I'm really sorry once again sir, but if I wanted to be faced with this situation again, I would make the same decision." She said with a sincere look.

"It's fine. It's not like it's your fault so stop apologizing. I would go through this." He said raising up the schedule book in his hand. "Make sure you still call my desk before the meeting time for each meeting, don't let the fact that I would be having my own meeting schedule booklet make you assume l would recall everything so well," Jake said.

Getting to his door just a few steps away Jake paused and then he turned back to take a look at Stacy one more time. He still couldn't phantom the fact that she only burnt the documents without taking a peed into any of them.

"If she had peeped info any of the documents, I would tell, because no matter how she would try to hide it, traces of fear would rampage her face. She didn't take a look, otherwise, she won't be here today." Jake said within himself before he turned back facing his office door and then he walked in.

The moment Jake walked in and Stacy was sure he was out of sight, she collapsed into her seat almost like someone who just took off a heavyweight.

Immediately, she realized there were cameras all over the place and Jake could request for any of them at any point. She quickly concluded the whole drama to make it seem like she has tripped over something and had missed a step which made her fall into her seat that way.

"It's only a matter of time, just hold it in within that period," Stacy said to herself as a way of calling for her inner serenity.

Mandy just stood on her terrace staring into the world. She hadn't been here for quite some time now. The cool money breeze ruffled her hair and even got some into her mouth.

"Seems like someone is excited today," Mandy said to the breeze as it could hear her. "Well I'm not in so good a mood so just go play with someone else." While she struggled to get her hair out from her mouth Joey walked in.

"Oh yeah, you could go play with him," Mandy said to the wind. "His name is Joey, I'm sure you would make good friends."

"And who is talking to about me?" Joey asked as he scanned her head and face to see if he was going to find any attachments or communication gadgets. "Just how tiny is it?" He asked after a futile search.

Mandy wondered why Joey hovered around her but hearing him say this now made her understand what was going on. "I wasn't talking to anyone," Mandy said as she chuckled.

No one would look at Joey right now and not do the same.

"I was only introducing you to the wind who wouldn't stop playing with me. I am not in the right mood for that, I felt you would probably be." Mandy said as she got the last strand of her away from her mouth.

"Finally!" She exclaimed as she turned and

leaned on the terrace.

"What makes you think I would be in a good mood?" Joey asked.

"You are getting closer to achieving your goal," Mandy said.

"Well, I wouldn't lie l actually am. Still, there is this, this feeling I still can't quite put a finger on. My chest feels heavy, I should be feeling light but I don't." Joey turned to Mandy and then he waited to get her attention on his face.

"What do I do?" He asked with eyes that yearned for comfort.

Mandy held the gaze a few seconds longer than she had ever held with anyone else then she looked away. "It's spring, but I can smell the summer breeze already." Mandy started.

"Summer is still far ahead but I can feel it already, why? Because that's just how we humans are. We get so worried and anxious about things that are yet to come that we neglect the things already here. I already miss spring when it's still here and I'm already looking forward to Summer which is still up ahead, way way up ahead just because I'm worried about being scorched by the summer sun." She turned to Joey to verify if he was still in the conversation and it turned out Joey never took his eyes off her.
