LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX(Episode 65)

                           EPISODE 65

Stacy couldn't believe what she had in front of her. With the way her voice echoed in the room, she was sure the neighbors would wonder what was going on. Already, one of the neighbors came to ask her to quieten down, but the more she went through the documents, the more she had the urge to scream even louder. Everything about Jake's dirty business was contained in the file. She couldn't keep this information to herself alone.

"At first I felt I was going to sink into the floor, but then I remembered the words you said to me just before I walked out of the door, and it kept resounding in my ear and that was what all I thought of until..." Joey's phone began ringing interrupting his statement. "Sorry! Please excuse me." He said as he answered the call. "It's Stacy!" He

whispered to Mandy as he picked it up.

"Oh sorry! I would leave now." Mandy also said in a whisper. She stood to excuse herself but Joey held her back.

"Stay!" He said, not in a whisper but out loud.

Just one word, but it rained a million butterflies in Mandy's stomach.

"Boss!" Stacy began. "I don't even know how to say this, but with me right now are the documents containing every illegal deal done by Jake and his company."

"Give me details," Joey said he wanted to really digest the entire story.

"Okay, Boss! I had made friends with Tiffany and then without raising suspicions I had told her of some of the plans Mrs. Mallory had and Jake too. I was only trying to stir up a feud, but it backfired, I don't know how or why but somehow it did. I couldn't just sit back and wait for another opportunity to get into their head. Since things didn't work out well with Tiffany I decided to come indirectly through Jake, the house wasn't going to be a good idea so I  chose the office. I maneuvered my way into to the head of Jake's secretary and I made her turn in her own resignation letter. She hadn't done that officially yet, but she was already in the process. I took a job as a cleaner in the company and then I played with Jake's head too and he offered me the job of his secretary." Stacy paused, she could no longer hear any sound from the other side. 

"Boss! Are you still there?" She said trying to confirm if he was still listening in.

"Yh I am, carry-on," Joey responded.

Mandy was already getting scared, so many crazy thoughts as to what the file would contain ran through her mind.

"Okay, Boss!" Stay said as she continued."He handed some files to me today and asked me to burn them. I just went through them and Boss, the contents of these documents are mind-blowing and heartbreaking." Stacy lamented.

"And what are the contents?" Joey asked.

"There is one of his deals with the prosecutors' office and T&B law firm. The cases they had won for him, and all the monetary transactions he had done with them. There is one on his illegal importation of narcotics, the fourlawyers who died while trying to uncover the secret behind the new drugs they were coming up with were killed by his hitmen. There are documents that also confirm that the air pods and headphones which their tech company produces are dangerous to the brain. There is a document stating the substandard resources they used in producing the candy which kids consume. The list is endless boss.

Documents containing every atrocity which Jake and his company had done are in my hand right now. I don't know what to do with them." 

Stacy was

scared, one could tell by the sound of her voice.

"Calm down and listen to me," Joey said to Stacy but his eyes fixed on already tensed up Mandy. "This is what you are going to do."

Mandy was fidgeting, her hands were shaky and she was developing cold feet. She couldn't believe this was the same man she lived with, the thought of ever living in the same house with Jake scared her even more.

Joey moved over to where Mandy was, while he still spoke with Stacy over the phone. He covered both her hands which she glued together with his palm. He made sure she stared into his eyes. "Everything is going to be fine. You don't have to be afraid, you have me." He said to Stacy while he looked at Mandy, getting Mandy confused about whom he was talking to.

"Alright Boss! Thank you! I would do exactly as you've said."
