LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX (EPISODE 83)

EPISODE 83

Mandy tapped her feet on the floor, her rage still ablaze in her veins. This time, however, it is not because she was unnecessarily hurried into the room, but rather because Peekaboo still sees no reason why he should apologize to her for anything.

With her gaze fixed on the wall clock that hung on a nail in her room, Mandy counted the seconds that elapsed between now and the arrival of the thirty minutes that Peekaboo had mentioned.

"Finally!" As the final second ticked away, she exclaimed.

She walked to the mirror, her fury still burning within her. She was fiddling with her outfit and making certain that everything was in working order.

After getting ready, she remained in her room for a while longer. She wasn't going to take a step outside until Peekaboo approached her and asked her to do so.

"Mandy!" Peekaboo exclaimed as he repeatedly slammed the door against the wall, calling out to her.

Despite the fact that she could hear him clearly, she remained steadfast. The incident

that had occurred thirty minutes before had occurred, and she was doing everything she could to punish him and make him realize that she was still extremely upset about it.

"Mandy!" Peekaboo screamed for the hundredth time, and this time it was louder. "Please accept my apologies!" From behind the door, he let out a shriek.

Mandy was still standing firm, as if she couldn't discern the sincerity in the apology.

"Please accept my apologies, Mandy ." He said it softly this time, sounding a little more sincere than the previous time he said it.

"Let's get going," Mandy said as she opened the door for the group.

"Thank you so much!" Peekaboo exclaimed, clearly relieved.

"Seo Joon! It's Joon ah!" Peekaboo burst into tears. "We'd definitely come back!"

Peekaboo left without waiting for a response to confirm whether or not Seo Joon was

really still inside the building or not.

*********

Jake's mind was a minefield, a minefield in a maze trap.  He desperately needed to get out of this situation, but there was no way out. The more he moves around in an attempt to find a way out, the more mines explode around him.

Not the life he had imagined for himself years, or even months before this happened. All of this began the day he saw Mandy with Joey for the first time.

“No! It all started much earlier than that. That night, I was in a trance. That night of Tiffany's birthday celebration served as the foundation upon which this tree of interminable problems grew.”

The memories from that night kept flashing through his mind, and he couldn't shake the guilt he felt when he accused her of drugging him into sleeping with her. He knew it in his heart, he knew he had asked for it. His voice remained clear, sharp, and resonant in his mind even after all this time. He could still recall the exact moment he asked her if she would be interested in spending time with him.

"Jay!" Tiffany dialed his phone number once more. Taking him away from his bucket of thoughts was a challenge. "You have to make a decision, and you have to make it quickly." She expressed herself.

When she convinced him to kill Mandy that day, the hitman made a rash decision and everything went wrong.

This was the same thing she did when she persuaded him to be wicked and bad to Mandy in the hopes that it would aid her in her escape and get her out of the country. None of her plans, not even one, ever came to fruition the way she had envisioned. The fact that he was seriously debating whether or not to proceed with this was a major factor in his decision. There were some differences between this and the other situations. If this went south, the consequences were far more severe.

He questioned himself several times as to whether he was truly prepared to take the risk. "Do I really think I'm ready?" He asked himself the question, this time aloud, and unconsciously as well.

Jake's eyes were filled with uncertainty, doubt, and fear, and Tiffany could see it. She couldn't hold it against him, because this was a decision that required him to put everything on the line. Either he wins big or he loses big, that was the choice. Whatever the outcome was going to be, it was going

to be extraordinary.

"Babe!" Tiffany yelled out once more.

"Jay!" She explained that she was walking closer to him this time. "I understand that you are scared. I understand why you're scared, but you don't have to stay that way. I'd take care of your fear," Tiffany said this as she tapped him on the back of the head.

Jake's palms were sweating, and his heart was racing as he walked. His presence on Tuesdays was not expected, and he was not even supposed to be in the office. He should have been at the office right now, but his mind was not in a relaxed state. His thoughts were scattered all over the place. Mandy is being murdered! That wasn't something he ever imagined himself having to go through with. But what about the documents? No one should be able to access the documents because they are in a safe.

"She should never have been allowed to flee in the first place. She should have stayed and endured, just as she had done in the previous years, She was the one who brought this upon herself. She shouldn't hold it against me.”

“She shouldn't hold it against me!" He kept repeating these words to himself to aid him in his search for justification for killing her.

"Baby!" Tiffany spoke in hushed tones to him. If we truly want to keep all of our wealth, we will have to do this, even though it isn't something we want to do. Your mother's throat has been marked as the battleground, and, as much as I hate to say it, there may come a time when we will need to draw our sword from its scabbard and place it on her neck. In a war, you either kill or you are killed, and that is the case in this battle." Tiffany finished her sentence with a higher pitch than she had begun with.

"But do we really have to kill in the traditional sense?" Jake asked, his heart still thumping loudly in his chest. "Does it really have to be this way?" What if we simply threaten them or do something else to

them instead of killing them? He wanted to know more.

"It's crystal clear that you're not prepared. I can't be with a man who is a coward and won't take the bull by the horns when the going gets tough. I can't be in a relationship with a man who runs away every time things get tough. No!  I just… l just can't be!"

Tiffany left the room in a flurry of excitement. She didn't pause to rethink her decision, and she didn't pause to take one last look before continuing.

"Ti! Jake called out, but his voice was very low in pitch. He couldn't even hear himself because the volume was so low. His mouth opened once more, but there was no word that came out of it.

The only thing he could do was to call Tiffany's name in hushed tones from a distance. The only way to tell if he was calling out to her was to pay attention to the shape of his lips.

He was gasping for air because the room was stuffy and he was choking on his own breath. This meant that he needed to breathe different air, he needed to be in a different location, and he needed to be in the same space as other people. His mood was not conducive to traveling far, so he simply went for a walk around the compound,

taking a step outside.

Jake could count on one hand the number of times he had actually visited the garden, used the swing, or even walked on the walkway since this building was constructed, and this was true for all of the years he had lived here. He was either never around or was extremely busy whenever he did appear to be present.

"Mom!" Jake let out a yell. "Yep, I have a mother!" "I think I should go talk to her about it." Jake was thinking to himself at the time.

After all, Jake had forgotten about his last encounter with his mother until he got to the front door. Just as he was about to knock on the door, a video of their previous encounter

flashed across his face, and he couldn't help but bow his head while leaning his head against the door. "Damn!" He let out a yell.

He looked perplexed. There was no one else to talk to at this point. Although he was well aware of how bad of a decision he was about to make, he couldn't allow himself to be overly concerned at the time because he didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

Jake walked in through the door, which he opened slowly and deliberately.

"Mianhamnida!" Tess said something to the lady whose cap she had accidentally

knocked to the ground when she bumped into her. " Igo, here, nonun, go," Tess had a difficult time communicating in Korean. All she wanted to say was, "Here you go," and that was it. When she looked up to return the cap to the lady, she couldn't believe her eyes when she realized who she was looking at.

Mandy, took the cap away from her in a hurried manner without even acknowledging her apologies. Her hand was resting on her chin, as if she were trying to remain invisible. She quickly reattached the cap, and then she was gone in the blink of an eye.

Tess couldn't keep her excitement at bay because, of all the places she could imagine Mandy could be, South Korea was not only not the least on the list, but it was also not at all on the list, She was unable to go shopping any longer. The adrenaline rushing through her veins wouldn't let her go. She needed to tell someone about the good news she had received.

She hurried back home to share it with the one and only friend she had, who also happened to be the only person who would understand what she was going through at the time.

Once she got to the house, she threw her bag on the couch and, while still wearing her shoes, quickly dialed Mrs. Mallory's phone number, which was still in her pocket. "Hello, Mum! You're not going to believe who I just happened to run into!"
