EPISODE 78
"It appears that someone has finally decided to finish up," Mandy observed as Peekaboo walked into the house after saying goodbye to the repairman.
"I was already in the process of preparing the guest room." She said it again, this time in an attempt to be humorous.
"Tell me about it," Peekaboo murmured, his face flushed with exhaustion.
"I had no idea how difficult it would be to repair a door. Jeez! What is it that these people do?" He asked Mandy a question while he waited for her to respond in a meaningful way.
Mandy shifted her gaze to her sides to make sure Peekaboo wasn't actually loaking at her.
"Do you really expect me to respond to that?" After confirming that Peekaboo's gaze was indeed directed at her, she asked, placing her hand on her chest.
"Please, if you are able, do so!" The couch was even more lifeless than before, Peekaboo said as he walked towards it.
"I... am... completely... fatigued!" He let out a yell. "Could I please stay for thirty minutes before leaving...please?" says the speaker. He pleaded his case.
In the end, Mandy squinted her eyes and glanced away, almost as if she wasn't going to let him get away with it.
"Of course you can!" says the Instructor.
As she turned to face him, she burst out laughing. She then got up from the sota and escorted her out of the room.
"Could you please stretch that to an hour?"
"Could you please extend it to an hour?"
Peekaboo begged to be seen again, this time looking pathetic.
"All right, that's fine!" Mandy said this with a sigh and a roll of her eyes, as if she were hesitant about the whole thing.
She smiled at the same moment she took a step away from Peekaboo's line of sight. She breathed a sigh of relief.
Mandy was not someone who like the sense of being indebted; therefore, she made it a point to repay any favors she received. And Peekaboo has just provided her with an opportunity to reward him for his generosity.
It's not clear to me what you're referring to or from where you obtained this information, or who has been infusing your brain with all of this garbage, but ! do know one thing: I am disappointed in you! Jake was enraged by what Mrs. Mallory stated.
"Oh, it's fine if you're disappointed; I don't care. I don't require your appraisal, I don't require your praise, and I don't require your approval, so whatever you want to call it. The fact that you conspired with Tess and attempted to steal the firm away from me cannot be denied. How did you manage to pull that off? And to your own son, no less! If this isn't the pinnacle of cruelty and
inhumanity, then l'm at a loss for what to call it. What parent would be joyful just when their child is upset or sobbing, and then be depressed because their child is happy in the next situation? What parent are you referring to?" Jake was the one who inquired. His fury was no longer visible; instead, he appeared to be hurt. I was hurt emotionally.
"Jake, I don't comprehend what you're saying! No, I don't!" Mrs. Mallory screamed angrily. "I was under the impression that you were a nicer person than this. How could you possibly believe anything that anyone tells you to believe? I previously stated that I had not done anything. I didn't conspire with Tessy, or Tessa, or whatever name you want to call her. I was simply being honest. After we all saw her the other day, I haven't had any further contact with her. This is. something I strongly disagree with. I'm not going to keep my cool!" She said this while channeling her own wrath.
"Wow!" Jake was perplexed at this point. He was astounded by how convincing his
mother could be when she lied. He snorted and then said something. "You have a chance to win an Oscar." He didn't say anything else because it was clear that the conversation wasn't going in the right direction. They would only continue to go around in circles, and he would wind up wasting the entirety of his day by being absolutely unable to accomplish anything.
"I'd like to leave you with some advice." He remarked this as he moved closer to Mrs. Mallory. "Please advise Tess to use caution in Santorini." He walked away with a sneer on his face.
Mrs. Mallory staggered as soon as she heard the door close behind Jake. She was on the verge of falling to the ground. She gasped for air because it was difficult for her to take a full breath.
"Tess, Tess, Tess! I need to get in touch with Tess!" She remarked this as she examined the entire room, attempting to figure out where she had left her phone.
She discovered she hadn't brought it with her to the living room but had. instead left it in her bedroom instead.
She ran back into the room at breakneck speed. It was such an incredible sightseeing experience that a woman in her mid-fifties decided to run that route. She appeared to be in such good health that it was difficult to believe she was suffering from a terminal illness.
She snatched her phone from the side of her bed and dialed Tess's number on the other end.
"Good day, Tess!" When she heard Tess say hello on the other end of the phone, she shrieked. "You have no choice but to leave Santorini!"
It's official: "I'm not going back to California, mom!" Tess responded with a snarl of defiance.
"No, not at all! In no way, shape, or form You're not coming back here, and you're not going to remain there either, either. I'm not sure how it happened, but Jake managed to find out about everything. I'm not sure how he accomplished it, but he did. Even if I don't agree with the entire situation, l believe someone is using him against us. For the time being, we must maintain a low profile and exercise utmost caution. Someone was keeping an eye on us as well, despite the fact that we believed we were the only ones
performing the watching ourselves." Mrs. Mallory said something while fidgeting on the phone. Sweat pockets appeared on her brows and on her forehead.
"Can you tell me where I should go now, Mom?" Tess was the one who inquired.
"I really don't know! I really don't believe it. However, anywhere that isn't there or here is definitely a possibility. Anywhere, with the exception of Santorini and California."
"But mom..."
"Wait! I believe I understand where you're talking about." Tess was being interrupted by Mrs. Mallory.
"Can you tell me where Mom is?" she inquired.
"Seoul, South Korea!" Mrs. Mallory exclaimed with delight. "There's just no way anyone could have guessed you were going to show up."
"I guess my childhood fantasy is finally going to become a reality," Tess expressed her delight at the prospect as well. "It's a shame, because I was really looking forward to finding out who had outwitted me, As well as yh, mum" Tess said
"Yes, child," Mrs. Mallory responded.
"I think I know who the eyes are,"
"Can you tell me about your eyes?" Mrs.
Mallory inquired.
"The watchman's eyes are looking over him," Tess added, her voice a little calmer than usual.
"Who?"
"Her!" exclaimed Tess.
***********
"Okay. Thank you so much, Kai! Recently, you've made significant strides. Keep it up and.. keep it low for the time being "Joey said something to Kai on the phone.
"All OK, Boss!" Kai was waiting for Joey to hang up when he stated this.
Joey took a few steps towards Mandy's room. Consciously. He stood at the door, his gaze fixed on the opening. He yearned for her. He resented himself for missing her so much that he despised himself for doing so.
As soon as the phone started ringing, his attention was drawn away from the door to go answer it.
"Yes!" he exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Sir, l'd like to leave the office today. I'd already taken care of the door." Peekaboo shared his thoughts.
"Okay! That's a nice thing. You've done a good job. Make sure you don't get too far away from danger; you never know when it might come knocking on your door again. Always keep a tight eye on things." He stated it once more.
"All OK, Boss!" Peekaboo reacted with a smile.
"Boss!" When Mandy overheard Peckaboo call out, she was intrigued.
"Does that look like Joey?" She inquired once more, this time attempting to whisper.
Although he had already heard her, it was too late to stop her, and it was also pointless because he could continue to hear her.
Peekaboo smiled and nodded his head in response to her question.
"Does that look like Mandy?" Joey inquired as to when he no longer heard her voice.
"Yes, sir!" says the boss. Peekaboo responded once more.
"Without arousing suspicion, leave the area where she is currently located; I have something I need to tell you." "He said it," he said.
When Peekaboo walked away from
Mandy after bidding her farewell and acting as if the call was over, the latter said, "I'm clear sir."
"You would be departing for the island of Jebu. It's a community in South Korea that I'm sure you're familiar with. The location of your next mission would be there." Joey shared his thoughts.
"All OK, Boss!" Peekaboo responded just as Joey was about to hang up.
Peekaboo sat staring at the phone, perplexed as to why Joey had to tel! him to leave the area where Tiffany was. He thought it was unusual at first, but it only took a few seconds for the thought to pass him by. Peekaboo wasn't the type to ponder things for an extended period of time.
Mandy's stomach was becoming increasingly bloated. A doctor had been visiting her to see how she was doing. Joey had everything meticulously planned out.
During this time, tears streamed down Mandy's cheeks as she rubbed her hand over her stomach. It wasn't entirely clear, though, what had caused her to cry tears.
"All you have to do is tell me about it." "I said it under her weeping breath," she claimed.
*****************
"Jay!" Jake heard Tiffany cry out to him.
"You don't appear to be in such good shape" As she searched his face, she whispered something. "Can you tell me what's wrong?" She had a question for him.
"Everything is perfect, babe!
Everything!" Jake let out a scream.
"Nothing seemed to be going according to plan. Everything seems to be going wrong at the moment. First and foremost, Joey shows up, but he doesn't say anything about the past, which makes the situation much more distressing. He keeps telling me about things that are going on around me that I was completely unaware of, which makes me wonder how much he knows about me. I would have to confront a very terrible reality very soon, and I mean very soon. As if that weren't enough, my own mother is secretly sighing agreements behind my back in an attempt to get my fans to support her. Moreover, I have yet to be able to contact Mandy, which is the cherry on top of everything." Jake screamed in agony.
If there was one thing about all of this that you really wished could be resolved right away, what would it be?" She had a question for him. While she messed around with his perfectly arranged beards. "Please teli me." She repeated herself.
"Mandy!" Jake shared his thoughts. "If l could just track down Mandy, I would have practically all of my issues fixed."
His eyes were filled with desperation when he uttered this.
"Well... what if I told you I knew where she was," Tiffany remarked, an evil grin on her face, and then she raised her brows, biting her lower lip to the point. where it almost bled, before raising her brows once more.
Whatever she was thinking at the moment was something as terrible as her smile, and she was correct.
