LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX (Episode 77)

EPISODE 77

The door was dangling from the only peg that attached it to the wall, and it was dripping wet. Peekaboo had done everything he could to put the door together in the most efficient manner imaginable, and he had finally succeeded. They both slept with one

eye open last night, which was unusual for them.

Joey had paid for Mandy to stay in an apartment, as the notion of staying in a hotel didn't appeal to him in the least.

His most recent stay in a hotel while on a business trip in Cyprus was not one he would recommend to anyone else.

He had such a negative experience that Although the property had superb security, it was also well-equipped and the gatekeepers were well-trained and equipped as well. The estate had also hired a number of trustworthy individuals to keep watch over the entire property. Beautifully constructed and painted houses, not to mention a serene and calming environment, were among the highlights of our visit.

"Good morning, everyone!" Greeting Mandy, who had just woken up, Peekaboo greeted her with a warm smile on his face.

Mandy's day was guaranteed to be a nice one based on the first face expression she encountered. Imagine if faces like this were the first things people saw when they woke up in the morning.

"Hello, Peekaboo! Good morning!"

Mandy responded by wiping the corners of her eyes. "Can you tell me how long you've been up?" She inquired, her hand still wiping the corners of her eyes.

Peekaboo strained his neck in an attempt to find out what time it was on the clock on the wall. "Um...l'd say about thirty minutes," He said this after performing a small amount of  mathematical work. "Yeah, thirty minutes," He stated it again, almost as if he was more certain this time.

"Wow, that's incredible!" Mandy burst out laughing. She squinted her eyes to look more closely, as if doing so would make it easier for her to see clearly.

"Can you tell me what you're doing?" She inquired of him after observing him doing something that appeared to be cooking. "Do you happen to be making breakfast?" She inquired one more.

"Oh, err, this," Peekaboo said, pointing to the magic he was working on with his hands.

"It's only a small way for me to express my gratitude for the space I've been provided." He stated it again, this time staring her in the eyes.

"Oh, Peekaboo!" Mandy burst into tears."I'm in such pain." She sobbed once again. "You should have woken me up so that I might at the very least assist you in slicing the vegetables and cleaning up any soiled utensils." Mandy approached him, asking if there was anything she could do to assist him.

"If I hadn’t woken you up, the purpose for which I'm doing this, and the aim which I'm attempting to achieve, would have been as good as nothing," Peekaboo explained to her, hoping to relieve her of any feelings of guilt she might be feeling at the time.

The doorbell began to ring.

"This is embarrassing!" says the speaker.

"I'm sorry," Mandy whispered, covering her face with her hands. She was embarrassed by the state of the door, which was as good as open, but the person behind the door was still courteous enough to ring the doorbell nevertheless.

"Da you think anyone is coming?" She asked Peekaboo to open the door for her before she walked out the door.

"That's right, I contacted the maintenance team. I couldn't leave you here knowing that your door is in, well, you know..the state it is in. I couldn't."

"He said it," he said.

"Okay, now I'm feeling even worse. You didn't just give me breakfast; you also went ahead and contacted the fixing agency on my behalf." She walked up to the front door to let the maintenance man inside the building.

"Good morning, Mr. President." She greeted him with a smile.

"Good morning, ma'am!" The maintenance worker returned the greeting.

"So, I'm assuming you're here for the door, correct?" She inquired, hoping to obtain confirmation from him despite the fact that she was aware of the purpose he had come.

"Oh, absolutely, ma'am! I received information regarding a damaged door."

"Can you tell me how long it would take?" She inquired.

"It took between two and three hours." The maintenance worker responded.

"That's fine with me. Please phone me if you require assistance. I would be inside if you require assistance." She gave her instructions and then returned to the kitchen to meet Peekaboo there.

"Breakfast is ready!" says the cook.

Peekaboo said this as he made a display presentation of the excellent resuit he had achieved through the skillful combination of elements he had achieved with his hands."Welcome to the table!" He stated that he was attempting to imitate the French cooks.

"How about you?" Mandy inquired after observing that he only made one portion of each meal. "Are you sure you're not going to have any?" She inquired one more time.

"Nah! I'm not hungry at all. Enjoy?" He stated it once more, this time with a big smile on his face. "I'd be waiting for the repairman at the front door. Once he is finished, I would accompany him out the door." As he moved away from the kitchen, he murmured something.

"However, Peeka..." Mandy mumbled something, but no one was present to hear her, so she simply brought it back inside the house and sat down to one of the sumptuous-looking dishes on display. I said,

"We've got a lot of time to feel sorry for ourselves, but right now we should fill our tom tom!" Mandy murmured this as she put the guilt to the side and focused on her hunger instead.

"Did you want us to get together here?"

Because he was uneasy in the environment, Jake inquired. He was well aware of the impending atrocity that was about to take place here.

"Can you tell me what you want?" Jake inquired of Joey as the two of them sat down to have a discussion.

Joey had recommended that they go to an ice cream shop to see a movie. On purpose, he had chosen Mandy's favorite store as a meeting point.

"What exactly do you want to gain from all of this? What exactly do you require from me?" Jake inquired once again.

"First and foremost, take baby steps! First and foremost, take baby steps!" Joey screamed. "We've just arrived, so tet's take a moment to relax, okay? We haven't even gotten around to ordering ice cream yet! He stated it once more.

"What about ice cream? What are you doing at this time of day? With the weather as it is today? You cant be serious, can you?" Jake responded in a less-than-calm manner. didnt want to  say anything when you decided to meet at an ice cream shop, and I'm not sure what your plans are with this, but I just have one thing to say: if I ever find out in any way, shape, or form that you were just playing with me and leading me around in circles inside a maze, trust me, trust me, Joey Brandon, you won't like the part of me you'd see," Jake warned.

"Is that supposed to be a threat?" Joey was the one who inquired.

"Oh no Joey! I am extremely disappointed, c'mon, you could have done more than this," Jake stated at the conclusion of the sentence, a sarcastic grin on his lips as he said it.

"I heard that a man attempted to run over his pregnant wife someplace around here,"

Joey stated.

As he observed Jake's reaction, he quickly realized Jake was a difficult nut to crack and shifted his course of action accordingly.

"This was the best line in my favorite movie...", Moving his palm across his forehead gave the impression that he was pondering about something. "My my, I can't believe I Forgot what the movie was called so quickly. Anyway, that sentence is one of my favorites." He said this while still keeping an eye on Jake's expression.

Finally, Jake's expression of relief could be seen on Joey's face when he finally received what he desired.

"Can you tell me what you want?" Jake inquired of Joey once more.

"What are your thoughts?" Joey responded by asking Jake a question.

Jake complained once more, "I'm weary of all of this back and forth," he stated.

"To be honest with you, l'm only going to tell you one thing. The person you believe will save you is actually the one who will assist you in taking your final breath."

The fear and terror were there in Jake's eyes, and Joey could feel it in his heart. Joey wished to provide him with additional information, but doing so would put him and every member of his team at risk. Assuming that he wished to keep Jake's attention diverted and focused on other matters,

he would need a substantial amount of knowledge with which to occupy Jake's time and therefore divert his attention away from Mandy and the other issues.

"Can you explain what you mean by that?" Jake responded with a question.

"All I'm trying to say is that you should be cautious with those around you, and that you should be aware of the events that are about to take place," Joey responded.

Even though Jake couldn't quite make out what Joey was talking about, he had the distinct impression that he did at the same time.

Joey got to his feet and prepared to go.

"Are you getting ready to leave?" Jake inquired of Joey as he rose to his feet to keep him from falling. "You can't just stand up and leave like that," Jake remarked emphatically.

"How come I can't?" Joey was the one who inquired.

The only thing Joey could do was stand there with no response to that inquiry, and Jake gently let go of his hold on Joey.

Joey agreed, saying, "Beats me too."

"I just have one more thing before I leave," Joey stated as he turned and walked back towards Jake.

******************

Jake dashed into the penthouse, panting and shivering like a deer in search of water.

"Mommy! Mommy! Mrs. Mallory, please!" He yelled as he tried to yank her out of whatever she had rolled into on the ground.

"What in the world is going on?" Mrs. Mallory screamed at the top of her voice as she approached the location where she had been summoned. "Jake!"

She let out a loud scream. "What had gotten into you? What exactly is your problem? What's the point of all of this commotion?" She asked.

"How could you do that, Mom?" Jake burst into tears.
