EPISODE 72
It's been over two weeks now, since this emptiness in Joey developed. With the rise of the sun every morning, and the setting of the sun every night, the emptiness grew.
Joey wasn't one to keep friends and he wasn't the best user social media could have, all he did was read books, and make plans. His life became patterned.
Same routine every day. Nothing new was added and nothing old was removed.
The only time he had a switch was when he visited the office.
Joey was going through some old files when something that seemed like an old ruffled paper flew out from one of the files. He bent down to pick it up, and the moment he read the contents of the paper, his eyes became blood shut, he was crying inside and was trying everything he could to hold the tears from falling.
This was an old wound he lived everyday deceiving himself he was over. The wound hasn't left a scar yet, because it was yet to heal.
"Oh okay! No problem you could come over," Joey said to Kai over the phone.
#############
"Boss!" Kai called out. "When do you plan on telling her?" She asked Joey who was staring outside the window.
"I don't know," Joey replied looking dejected.
"I wish I could answer that too," He said turning to Kai and giving her a weak smile after which he turned back.
"Don't you think she would understand you better if you do," Kai said. "And maybe even corporate better. I really think you should tell her boss!" She added.
"I wish I could turn back the hands of time. The all of this wouldn't be the way it is now," He said.
"Why is that?" Kai asked again.
Joey turned back again, he leaned on the window and then he smiled at Kai.
"I think we should stop the conversation here," He said walking away from the window. "What do you have for me. Let's hear it,"
"My Intel isn't adequate Boss, I would love to apologize for that before I begin,"
"Kai! Kai! Kai! I'm not surprised. It is you to always have incomplete information. I would have been surprised if you told me you had complete Intel, but this, oh nah, I'm not surprised," Joey said as he walked to have his seat.
"I'm sorry boss!" Kai said apologetically.
"So, I was asked to call Jake by Mrs. Mallory and then I stumbled upon Tiffany and Jake having a conversation.
It seemed like they were planning something really bad, like really really bad. Tiffany isn't someone to be shocked when she hears about plans that were bad and dangerous, I mean she came up with the plan of killing Mandy even though she knew Mandy was pregnant without batting an eye, but when she heard what Jake told her, she screamed out of shock. That only goes to say that, whatever Jake told her isn't just bad, but evil and I feel it involves killing too. I could have told you this over the phone but l insisted on taking the risk and then coming here to tell you about it directly because I want to plead that you tighten the security around all of us, The game is getting dangerous," Kai cried.
Joey smirked. He didn't even budge or act surprised by what Kai said. "You seem to be slacking on your job lately Kai, seems like I've gotten soft on you.
You only state the obvious, do you even monitor your environment at all, do you
try to smell out news or you just relax and wait till they come to you, Huh?"
Joey switched up on Kai all of a sudden. "I seem to be better at this job than yourself. Even Stacy whose eyes and ears you are meant to be seems to seeing and hearing better than you do. I already got Intel about this," Joey said in a rage.
"I have something else Boss! They say save the best for the last, remember?" Kai said with a smile.
