LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX (EPISODE 68)

                                 EPISODE 68

it's been two weeks since Y&C withdrew their investment, two weeks since alcohol became Jake's favorite thing in the world.

"Until when babe? Until when?" Tiffany who was already frustrated with Jake's recent behavior and new found hobby moaned.

"Look at you!" She cried out.

"Don't you dare!" Jake said to her as she tried to take his drink away. "Just let me be."

"I won't! I won't be okay! If you are going to beat me up then fine. It's just nine in the morning and you are already on your fifth bottle, c'mon. At this rate, you would even die before your company.” Tiffany cried out.

"My company?" Jake asked raising his eyes to Tiffany . "But you know it ain't really mine right?" Jake asked right before he busted out into a peal of sarcastic laughter.

"What do you mean?" Tiffany asked confused.

"You would get to know, sooner or later!" Jake said in a voice that sounded like he already sobered up.

"I want to know, now!" Tiffany requested commanding so much power.

"I got you!" Jake said as he laughed dancing across the room. "I was only joking around!" He said still dancing.

"You fell for it! You fell for it! You fell for it!" Jake kept singing and dancing around.

"Don't you ever do that again? Never ever!" Tiffany said as she wiped off a teardrop that was about to fall off.

"Did I make you cry, Tiff?" Jake asked as he looked at her. "Don't cry, I'm so sorry." He pleaded.

Tiffany wasn't going to let this opportunity slip away from her fingers. She held on to the bottle of wine which was in Jake's grip, it was just a quarter down.

"Give it to me babe!" She said in a soft voice.

jake looked at her and realized there was no way he could ever say no to her. He gave in to her plea and lets her have it.

"Thank you!" Mandy said as she collected the bottle from him. "You need to rest your head, after which we have to talk." She said as she walked away.

"Alright, babe!" Jake said as he went for the bathroom to wash off the smell of alcohol in his body. He reeked.

"Here you go!" Mandy said as she handed some files over to Joey.

"What is this?" Joey asked as he took it from her hand.

"Why don't you find that out yourself," Mandy said wearing a smile, it was obvious she felt proud of herself.

"Oh! My! Ribcage!" Joey exclaimed as his eyes beheld the contents in the file. "How did you get this?" He asked.

"I won't tell you," Mandy said so outrightly.

"But why?" Joey cried.

"It really took me the courage to give this to you. It is pretty embarrassing to say but like you had advised him before, I thought about it and I could hear the racing of my heart and the excitement flowing in my veins. It's embarrassing, but I don't regret giving it to you because rather than my embarrassment, there will be a countless number of people who would benefit from this.”

"Thank you so much, Mandy! I would use this to the best of my ability." He said feeling super grateful.

"Well, so what was the thing you called me for?" Mandy asked.

"Oh yeah, that's true," Joey said coming back to himself. "I wanted to brief you on you about your travel to Santorini."

Mandy moved to the edge of her seat, although she still wasn't sure why Joey was sending her there but the fact that this was going to be her first official mission made her really excited.

"I'm all ears Boss!" She said as she listened

keenly.

"Okay, so here is the plan!"

Mandy smiled as she heard the words Joey said, she was getting really excited. The fact that she would be embarking on the journey in a week made her sad, she wished it would be sooner.

"Here is what you are going to give them," Joey said as he placed the file on the table.

##############

"Feeling any better?" Tiffany asked Jake who walked into the living room with his hair pointing towards different directions, it was obvious he had a good rest.

"So much better!" He said as he rubbed over his eyes. "Thank you for stopping me, babe." He said to Tiffany as he sat very close to her.

"I'm sorry for troubling you. I promise to be better." He said as he kissed her palm.

"You better keep to your word!" Tiffany said.

"I would die keeping my word!" Joey said moving his hand over her face.

"Oh no, you are not going to placate me with this." Tiffany lied, Jake already did.

"Okay, ma'am!" Jake said as he took his

hands away immediately, feeling his touch wouldn't save him this time.

"I would be traveling to Santorini a week and three days from now," Tiffany said.

"Santorini? Greece? Why?" Jake asked in shock. "Is everything okay?" He asked again looking worried.

"Calm your nerves," Tiffany said as she turned her body on the sofa in his direction.

"I have been doing a lot of groundwork trying to get bigger and better investors. When you told about how big this new project was, I knew having just one major investor would be too risky because they could fall out at any point, and even if they don't, we need more source of funds. To be very honest, my biggest and major reason for even wanting to find another major investor was just so you could be proud of me, I wanted to show you that I could be helpful too. So I was able to find one and I already scheduled the meeting, the meeting was supposed to be two weeks from today but after Y&C dropped out I tried pushing it forward so they don't get to hear about that and then pull out too because the key reason why they decided to invest in the company was because they heard Y&C would be investing too, but they could only agree to let me push it up by four days. I would be meeting with them just to get the deal signed, we already finalized every other thing."

Jake couldn't believe his ears. He held his mouth tightly with his hands because he was on the verge of screaming.

"What would I do without her?" He asked himself.

"Babe!" Tiffany called out to Jake who was deep in his excitement.

"Jay!" She called out again moving her hand over his face.

"I can see you, babe, I can hear you, Tiff!" He said. "I'm just speechless that's all. I could cry right now. I could literally break down in tears."

Tiffany blushed. She expected Jake to get excited and be proud of her too but not to this extent.

"Oh stop it, babe, it's nothing."

"Nothing!" Jake exclaimed. "Oh, now you are really pushing me into crying. How on earth would you call this nothing."

"I didn't want to tell you about it until I get the contract signed, but seeing how you decided to give up on everything, I had to tell you about it."

"Are your needs for traveling met?" Jake asked.

"Yh, I already have everything settled," Tiffany said. "So go back to the office and show them there is still hope. If you leave the company like that do you think your workers would want to work there, even them would want to run away. We have other things to do aside from this. We shouldn't let one sector affect the rest. So go back out there and show them who's boss!" Tiffany exclaimed cheering Jake on.

#############

Mrs.. Mallory had asked to meet up with Tess outside the Mallory's residence. The café Tess chose was just the perfect spot. Nice view, serene environment and to put the icing on the cake, it is far far away from the Mallory's residence. Not in a million years would anyone from the Mallory's residence be at this place. It was just the perfect spot for the conversation they were going to have.

"So how far have you gone?" Mrs. Mallory asked Tess as she took a sip out from the strawberry juice in front of her. "Please tell me you've been making progress!" Mrs. Mallory pleaded as she took another sip. "We are running out of time honey, everyone seems to get way ahead of us. We need to up our game." Mrs. Mallory pleaded again.

Tess didn't take even a single sip from her apple juice, it was quite strange because it was her favorite.

Mrs. Mallory however was about ordering for her second round.

"You really should cut it down on the sugar mom." Tess pleaded. "You know your health condition."

"The more reason why l have to take as much as I can." Mrs. Mallory said with a

sarcastic smile.

"Mom!" Tess said with pity in her eyes.

She doesn't say it, but she felt really bad her mother had to go through all of this.

"Don't give me that look, child."

Tess couldn't help it, whenever she stared at her mom, all she saw was someone pitiful.

"Well, from my Intel, something big is about to go down at Santorini,"

"Santorini?" Mrs. Mallory asked.

"Yes, mom! I would be going there in a week and two days from now. This is our biggest chance yet. Santorini is the passcode mom." Tess said, looking excited this time.
