"How long do we have to keep doing this?" Tess asked Mrs. Mallory as she opened the can of distilling water in her hand. "I'm getting sick and tired of this whole make-believe."
"I really don't know child. We just have to keep doing this if we ever want to get her hands on the document in the vault." Mrs. Mallory replied feeling dejected. "This is frustrating and stressful all at once and one thing I don't need in my life right now is this stress."
Tess was already flaring up. Smiling at Tiffany like all was good wasn't something easy to do for her. "I don't know about you but when it gets to the point where I can't take it anymore, I'm so pulling out from this."
"You know what Tiffany said, it's not easy for anyone to trust me. Having to hug Tiffany is like asking me to drink the sewer water." She noticed the disgusting look on Tess's face. "Yes it's that disgusting to me too, but what can I do? I have come too far to just quit along the way."
"Mom!" Tess exclaimed. It was obvious her mother's statement was making her weak and wanting to bear the discomfort a little bit longer. "You make it hard to leave you!" She exclaimed again she runs into her arms for a hug.
"Thank you for understanding child."

"Well, I'm trying to be filial," Mandy said squeezing in the water can which by now she already emptied.
"Good morning sir!" The lady who was cleaning the office greeted Jake the moment he walked in. "I'm sorry sir, l should be done with this in the next ten minutes." She said apologizing for still cleaning the office at that time.
"No, it's fine. Take your time." Jake unusually permitted.
Jake wasn't someone who let things like this happen, the last time a similar incident happened, it wasn't even his office but the hallway which the staff was still trying to get cleaned up and he happened to had come an hour earlier than usual. At that spot and moment, he had dismissed the lady from her job. Hearing Jake permit this Lady from cleaning his office at this moment wasn't something anyone would believe if you weren't present. Seems like the series of life worries he had been facing were actually beginning to pay off in shaping his attitude.
"Sir, I'm sure you are excited about today." The staff had said with a smile. "You would finally get to see the face of the one who had been your rival for so many years." She added.
"What do you mean?" Jake asked confused.
"I'm talking about the press conference, sir."
Jake chuckled and then he said. "Could you please just focus on getting your work done, I have a herculean task ahead of me today?"
Jake didn't take her statement seriously. He believed if anyone was supposed to know about a press conference it should be him, and not her, More so if it was a press conference this big. The young lady gave off a smirk. It was scary. Although she was reprimanded, she had this satisfying look in her eyes like things were going according to plan.
"Okay, sir! I'm sorry I crossed the line!" She apologized attending to the little portion of work she had left as fast as she could.
It wasn't up to an hour after Jake arrived at the office when Cosmo walked in to submit the files Jake had requested yesterday.
Cosmo's eyes moved over to the content being broadcast on TV and he wondered why Jake would be watching that at an important moment like now.
"Sir the press conference is about to begin, I think you should switch channels now!" Cosmo said.
Cosmo was an average height man in his mid-thirties. His stomach was screaming for freedom as they were forced to be hidden behind his buttoned shirt. The last two buttons on his chest which were exactly on his stomach region looked like they could
come loose if he takes a single more breath. Strangely a man like this was one of Jake's favorite people in the company. His dedication and input in the company were what mattered to Jake. The number of business deals he had brought to the company won him a spot on Jake's good list.
Cosmo had walked in to hand some files over to Jake and had by chance stumbled upon him listening to the news on the weather rather than the most important issue on ground.
