LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX (EPISODE 61)

                             EPISODE 61

That everyone was trying to hide something, is a fact that could not be hidden. Kicking off from the fake smile on Jake’s face to the weird cordial hug between Mrs. Mallory and Tiffany, to the awkward laughter coming off from Tess, everything was just strange, weirdly strange.

Kai was confused, this wasn't the plan.

They were supposed to be at each other's throats not hugging and laughing. This smiling wasn't what she should be seeing.

"Here you go, ma'am," Kai said as she dropped the glass of apple juice on the table before Tess. "You seem to really love apple juice ma'am, I mean, this is your fourth glass," Kai said with a smile.

"Oh yeah, honey. I madly really do." Tess said with her eyes fixed on the TV screen.

"That's nice," Kai said with a satisfying smile on her face. Things may not be going as they had wanted, but that doesn't mean they can't still take advantage of the direction of things now.

"Tell me you're kidding!" Stacy yelled over the phone. "All my hard work, all of my effort, the risk, the calculated thinking, everything, gone! Just like that!" She screamed even more. "How?How is that even possible!"

"I don't know, I really don't. Earlier today Tess came in, I was still trying to understand her reason for the visit when Jake walked in with Tiffany. I became even more surprised when Tess came out to greet them both, it was almost like they've been friends for years. She wasn't even trying to hide.

That isn't even what left me speechless, Mrs. Mallory had called me to come to serve them drinks, and what I walked into took me aback. I walked into the midst of happy people, people who were happy with

themselves and happy with one another too."

Stacy couldn't believe what she heard.

This wasn't the plan at all.

Six days ago, Stacy had gone to Tiffany's favorite store to shop at the same time Tiffany goes there. She had maneuvered her way into becoming friends with Tiffany and it wasn't long until she started feeding Tiffany with tales that would make them all drift apart. It had been raining hell on Mallory's residence ever since. They hardly sit together to have a discussion and if ever they did, it was either to cook up more arguments or to try solving a solution-less problem. Everything seemed to be working according to the plan up until today. Why they are suddenly acting all close was something to be suspicious of.

"Keep a closer eye on them, I'm sure they would leave some loose ends, and that's where we would dive in from," Stacy said to Kai.

"I think I already found one," Kai said."The one who requested for the apple juice the other time..." Kai moved the phone away from her mouth and then she looked around to be sure no one was listening in. "...was Tess. This time I'm not talking just on mere speculation, I confirmed it from the source herself."

"Nice! This is so nice. I would give you a warm bear hug right now if you were close by." Stacy said.

Kai chuckled.

"So, it's the big day huh!" Mandy asked as she leaned on the door staring at Joey who was struggling with getting his necktie in place. "Are you nervous?"

"Nervous?" Joey exclaimed as he turned to take a look at Mandy. "Would the abandoned be more scared? Or is it scarier for the abandoned to return?" Joey asked Mandy as he slanted his head a little to the left.

"I would answer that if I understood what you meant."

"Well, you don't have to."

"Are you really sure Jake did all of that?" Mandy asked Joey as she took steps towards him. "All the years I spent with him, I never heard him not even for once talk to anyone about the drugs, neither have I found any around. Are you really sure?" Mandy asked again. She was really worried and concerned Joey might endanger himself.

"Do you really think I'm trying to get Jake's money all to the very last penny just to see him miserable about losing? No! Obviously no!"

Joey wasn't waiting for Mandy to come to him anymore, he wasn't good at waiting.

"The masses are dying, but giving them money alone won't help them for life. It won't be long up until the whole money gets exhausted and they go back to the lifestyle they were leading. If I don't stop Jake, millions of young people may become drug addicts without knowing and the aged may die due to its high narcotic content. The only way to stop Jake is by stopping his source of production, the only way to stop that is to suck every penny he has from him." Joey explained.

He walked up to Mandy, standing so close. Too close that she could feel his breath on her face.

"It's quite painful that you don't believe me though, up until the very end you still believe Jake over me," Joey said with sad eyes.

"No, I don’t ! I believe every word you say." Mandy said trying to clear up the misunderstanding.

"You keep making me want to break my own rules," Joey said, this time his forehead placed on Mandy's.
