LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX (EPISODE 56)

                           EPISODE 56

"I'm sorry. Please excuse me." Mandy apologized to the security guard as she did a U-TURN and then hurried back into the car.

"Is everything okay?" Peekaboo asked, within him. Peekaboo was a guy who doesn't meddle in people's affairs especially when he is not invited to do so. It was expected because he hated it when people meddled in his.

Peekaboo's eyes were locked in Mandy's and they both kept staring at each other for what felt like five seconds before Peekaboo broke it by turning on the car's ignition.

Mandy jerked backward and that took her gaze away from Peekaboo.

"Is everything okay?" Peekaboo asked again, still with his eyes. This time though, Mandy wasn't staring back.

"How can a human be so strange?"Mandy questioned herself as she stared outside the window. "If you wanna ask a question just get on with it, I mean, what's the bigish about it." She said again. The thought about Peekaboo's weirdness took Mandy's mind off the subject matter. A heavy weight on her chest brought her back to her reality.

"Ouch!" She yelled out.

She could feel the pain from years ago resurfacing.

She stared at the center mirror, a little to the left above Peekaboo's head, and boom, it was just as she had thought.

Peekaboo was staring again. Asking questions with his eyes. Mandy was already in so good a mood, she had no room for frustrations. She rolled her eyes away.

The journey was quiet, a little too quiet that it became weird, it was too long a journey and it definitely didn't deserve such tranquility.

"Could you turn on the radio?" Mandy requested with her eyes still staring at random items outside the car.

"Sure!" Peekaboo responded as he stretched his right hand towards the knob on the radio. He raised his eyes up trying to lock his eyes with that of Mandy again, his hands still on the control.

"Nah switch to something else," Mandy replied to Peekaboo's voiceless question. He was asking if she was okay with the channel he had turned on. "Something more lively, and less life talking." Mandy noticed the confused look on his face and understood it immediately to mean that he didn't quite get what she just said. "I don't want something that's talking about life, but I want something that's lively."

Peekaboo gave a nod of his head to convey that he got her message better.

If Mandy hadn't spoken to Peekaboo on their way to the orphanage she would have passed him on like a dumb if this was just their first encounter. She couldn't quite get why he was suddenly the way he is. She could have sworn he was on his period if he was a lady.

While thoughts about Peekaboo being a weirdo roamed Mandy's mind,Peekaboo was astonished as to how Mandy could understand his non-verbal communication. It was the first. A smile came to lay its nest on Peekaboo's face, and when Mandy stumbled upon smiling Peekaboo, her assumption of him being a weirdo was confirmed to be a fact.

"Oh, it's official! He is a weirdo indeed!"

She exclaimed within her.

It was already three weeks since Mandy visited the orphanage, three weeks since Mandy ever spoke with Joey.

"Okay, this has to stop!" Joey said blocking Mandy's way. "And it has to stop today! Right now!"

"What are you doing?" Tiffany asked Jake who was engaged in an act that clearly screams what he was doing.

"You that's a silly question to ask, don't you. What in the world does it look like to you l'm doing?" Jake asked back as he dropped the socks he had in his hand to go play with Tiffany's cheeks.

"How nice!" Jake exclaimed as his hands held on to something so soft and at the same time so solid.

"Oh get serious babe!" Tiffany cried out.

"But I am. Or ain't I?" Jake said back.

"I asked you a question and you are yet to give me feedback about it."

"Babe I already told you about this last night. The company's trip is tomorrow."

Tiffany pouted her lips and rolled her eyes, something she does whenever she remembers something she had forgotten.

"Don't tell me you forgot again!" Jake asked in a loud tone unable to hold back his shock. "You are becoming too forgetful lately, are you sure you won't go see the doctor!".

"I think it's mini you who is causing all of this," Tiffany said rubbing over her stomach. Tiffany was pregnant again.

"You silly ass b..." Jake saw the rage in Tiffany's eyes waiting patiently for the last word he was going to drop. " beautiful cutie." He said quickly changing the word.

"It's so sad that I can't go." Tiffany cried.

"It really is sad. I am sad too. Look at me." Jake said pointing at his pretend sad face.

"That aside, what do we do about the blueprint?" Tiffany asked Jake.

"What blue...oh I see. I remember clearly now. Well, I really don't know. Ever since the inventor got the fingerprint verification, it's been almost a month now. I haven't even seen or heard from the tech guy either."

"What exactly is going on, I don't know what is that I feel, but what I know is I don't like how I feel about all of this." Tiffany said with a worrisome look.

"Don't get so worked up about this babe. You know you were told to avoid everything that could stress you, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Please avoid unnecessary thinking." Jake pleaded.

"Okay, Jay," Tiffany said as she hugged him goodbye. "I wouldn't stress me, not for my sake though, but for you, so be rest assured I would just go take my rest," Tiffany said waving him goodbye as he entered the car.

"Oh, she is so going to think a lot today!" Jake said with a smile on his face as he placed his office bag on the other side of the seat. He knew his baby way too well.

"Thinking is all I'm going to do today!" Tiffany said to herself as she shut the door.

She walked straight into Jake's study and then she sat at his study table. She massaged the side on her head with her hands, her eyes were squinted and her gaze was fixed on no particular item. This isn't healthy for her, not at this stage. But Tiffany was the adamant type, once she has her mind fixed on something.

Joey raised his left brow having a grin look on his face. "You seriously want this to go on huh! Could you at the very least fill me in on what my crime is? Mandy! Wait, don't tell me you are this way with me just because I sent you over there . Are you really

misunderstanding my kind gesture right now?" Joey cried.

"Just stop all of this!" Mandy finally said to Joey. "I’m not some kind of ingrate, l know a kind gesture when I see one and I know how to be grateful. What you did that day... still haven't been able to come up with a name for it, but a kind gesture?... Oh please don't make me laugh." Mandy said again.

Joey was dumbfounded. He lost his balance and then Mandy managed to walk away.

There was definitely something someone wasn't telling him. He couldn't bring himself into believing all of this hostility was all because of the good he was trying to do.

"Nah! There is more to this!" Joey said as he punched the wall so hard, so hard his knuckles bled.

"We just arrived at Incheon airport

Boss!" Ford said to Joey over the phone. "It won't be long now before the alliance is formed."

"I'm so sorry!" Angel said apologizing to a young man who she had glided with her shoulder causing the papers in his hand to fall on the floor.

"It's okay!" The young man said trying to be nice.

It all happened in a flash. Angel had swapped the man's paper with a different one which Ford had slid down her way, from where he stood on the phone with Joey. Immediately it got to Angel's hands she slid it over to Dudu who was just a few steps away.

Duplicates of the copy were made in a twinkle of the eye. Ange bumped into him again for the second time, and then she swapped the documents back again. It was the smoothest thirty seconds ever. Before the young man could even realize what was going on, his documents had been swapped

twice.

It's a pity though, the young man isn't to be blamed, all he could think of was how it

could be fate bringing him together with Angel. Her beauty was quite useful. Even though it was just her sparkling eyes he saw.

"Boss! We have the documents in our possession now. We know all about their plans, but its so sad they know nothing about ours." Ford said in a sarcastic tone, as he gave off a smirk at the end of his call.
