EPISODE 53
The weather was nice, but it wasn't so nice at the Brandon's. The cool breeze snuck its way into the living room and it kept playing around with Mandy's hair, messing it up obviously.
It wasn't playtime for Mandy though. Neither was it for Joey whom the breeze kept whispering on his face.
"You ain't asking me anything," Joey said to Mandy who had been mute ever since. "I know you have questions to ask me, so just get on with it," Joey said again. It was harder for him to deal with Mandy's silence than the questions she would be throwing at him.
"I do, actually I really do. But the thing is, I just don't know where to begin. However, Joey; I still want to know, just this very one thing, are you going to die?" Mandy asked with teary eyes.
"Yes," Joey said not mincing words. "Yes, I'm going to die!"
Right after Joey made that statement, a teardrop rolled down Mandy's cheek.
Just before it rolled off her face, she wiped it off with the flower-patterned navy-blue scarf wrapped around her neck. "Must you be so blunt about it!"
"What do you want me to say? You asked me a question and I answered you. Besides, aren't we all going to die at some point?" Joey said with a lackadaisical attitude.
Ever since he served his time in prison, Joey developed a carefree attitude towards life. He didn't really think hard about the future, oh, except the future of bringing Joey dead.
"I know! I know! But it's different with you."
"Different! In what way? How do you mean?" Joey said sounding confused all of a sudden.
"Because...because..you know...”
Mandy kept stuttering. She couldn't bring herself to talk about his health condition. "That!" She said at the end pointing at the drugs on the center of the table.
Joey followed Mandy's pointed hands and when his eyes landed on the item, he laughed out hysterically. "Okay everybody takes a chill pill!" He said a bit loud, still laughing though. "What exactly are you harboring in this peanut-sized head of yours?" Joey asked clapping his palms together as he laughed out loud. "Don't tell me...' Joey said putting a hold on his fist jamming. "By any chance do you think..."
Right here, right now, Mandy realized she made a fool of herself. "What you meant when you told me you were going to die, wasn't the same as what I thought you meant. Right?"
Joey looked at her, he smiled, and then he pitifully answered her. "Yh!" He could see the shyness on her face.
"Oh my gosh! I feel so embarrassed right now." Mandy said trying to cover up her face with her scarf.
"Yh, I know. I can see embarrassment written all over your face." Joey said not able to hold back his laughter anymore even though he could feel her embarrassment.
"I can't believe I shed a tear!" Mandy mumbled.
"I never knew you cared about me that much," Joey said after he was done acting like someone who inhaled laughing gas. "I was touched. My heart, fluttered for a second.". Joey said raising his brows and giving off a cheesy stare.
"Okay, that's enough!" Mandy said to Joey with a stern look on her face. "Cut it out!" She yelled as she stared at the dude who kept making the same face.
"Alright, that's it! I'm just going to leave you here." Mandy said jerking up from her seat.
She couldn't take any step further as she walked out of the door. Mandy stopped not trying to force herself out from whatever held her back. She folded her arms with her face all blazing red. She was blushing. "You could just ask me to come back. You don't have to hold me." Mandy said feeling all good inside. "Don't tease me that way next time. I'm still not coming back to hear whatever you have to say though, so just let me go!" She tried moving again but she still wasn't able to.
“I told you to..." Mandy stopped halfway
through her sentence as she turned and realized what was actually holding her back wasn't Joey, but the door.
"Damn it!" Mandy said feeling even more embarrassed. She looked through the see-through glass door, and then her eyes met with Joey who was seated on his chair, arms folded and watching the drama she was putting on. "This is even more embarrassing!" Mandy cried to herself as she dragged her scarf out. It still wasn't ready to pull out. She had to open the door if she was going to let the scarf loose, and that was definitely the last thing Mandy wanted at that moment.
"How cute!" Joey said as he watched Mandy struggle with the door.
She loosened her scarf taking it off her neck as that was the only option left and then she left it dangling on the door as she walked briskly into her room.
"How do I tell her about this when next she asks. Should I just keep stalling her, by pissing her off, just like now?" He said as he stared at the drugs lying there on the table.
"That was so humiliating!" Mandy moaned as she buried her face in her pillow and her back facing the ceiling.
She moved her legs in the air like one swimming in a pool, causing her silk flowing gown to move downwards a little, giving off a display of her straight, chocolate-skinned legs. Mandy wasn't the normal white-skinned American, and his skin color compliments her personality so perfectly.
She turned her face upwards and then she placed the pillow on her chest." | didn't even get to ask him what the drugs were for." She said feeling sad in the middle of her bag of emotional embarrassment.

"Off to work already I guess," Tiffany said still in her pajamas as she stumbled upon Jake just before he walked out of the house.
"And it didn't seem necessary to you to let me know before you leave." She said folding her arms, as she stood in a defiant position.
Tiffany's rolled-up pajamas complimenting her stance, with her messed-up doughnut made her look like a real thug. Jake wasn't supposed to but he couldn't help it, the figure standing before him couldn't let him be serious with the situation.
"is that a smile I see on your face?" Tiffany asked him with her brows rolled up. Jake wasn't helping matters.
"Is that a chuckle I hear?" Tiffany asked him as she squinted her eyes raising her brows even higher. "Jake stop it!" She yelled at already laughing Jake. "I'm supposed to be mad at you right now but..." Like the laughing gas just got into her, Tiffany started laughing too.
"...you know whenever you laugh like that, I can't help but laugh too. I mean look at you!"
Jake was assisting himself with the wall, while he held on to his stomach as he laughed out even harder.
"I know you are mad babe!" Done laughing, Jake said as he walked closer to her. "I just didn't want to wake you up. You know how much I hate it when someone cuts my sleep short, do you think I would enjoy doing that to people, besides it's you, Tiff, c'mon, we both know how much you enjoy your rest."
He planted a peck on her soft forehead skin.
"Baby!" Tiffany said as she hugged Jake tightly. "You make it hard to stay mad at you!" She said in a baby voice.
"You make it easy!" Jake said planting a kiss on her again, this time, he moved lower, placing the kiss on her lips.
"I haven't washed!" Tiffany said as she shyly moved her lips away.
"And who said it mattered?" Joey asked as he held Tiffany by her chin and then he kissed her even more. "I have to go now," Jake said as he slowly let Tiffany go. "We want to talk about the company's trip."
"Okay, Jay. Bye!"

"I was thinking Sir," Josh said as he pointed towards the slide display on the projector.
"Itaewon?" Jake asked, puzzled by the location.
Everyone gathered around the conference table murmured amongst themselves at the mention of the location.
"Yes sir. Itaewon!" Josh said again.
"Could you tell me why that location," Jake asked interested in this new idea?
"Okay, sir. Itaewon is a town in South Korea. I chose this location because I believe it's going to be an outstanding opportunity for the company. Diverse cultures gather around this town, and it's going to be a way for us to meet investors from across the globe. I mean
apart from that it would be nice to leave the American borders. Every company trip is always around this continent. Not only is Itaewon an opportunity to meet global investors, but it's also a once-in-a-lifetime
experience for our staff, we get to be in an Asian country. Sir, I believe this is the best location to be at. And our next project has tagged the globe. I feel with this experience, we can also gather information concerning that project sir."
Jake squinted his left eye, almost like he was trying to perfectly picture the entire speech Josh just gave. He looked around the other board members and he could see not all were in agreement.
"Maxwell," David called out. "It's obvious you have something to say, spit it out."
"Sir, I would agree that this idea is indeed amazing, but sir, we have to think about the cost. This is going to cut deep into the company's funds sir." Maxwell said with a display of his plight on his face.
"I get that. That is also the only problem I would say l have with this, but as Josh said, if we are lucky, we could meet the investors that would change the fate of our company on the global map forever!" Jake moved over to Josh. "Nice presentation!" He turned and then he looked at the rest of the people seated. "Next stop Itaewon!"
"Seems like we are going to Itaewon guys!" Allen said to his squad. "I must commend you Dudu, you planted the chip on Josh perfectly."
Dudu had tripped over Josh, just before
he walked into the conference room and he had planted the chip on him, which gave them access to the entire conversation. They were a step closer to accomplishing their mission.
"Next stop..." Angel said raising a glass of ice-cold Americano.
"Itaewon!" The rest of the squad replied in unison as they clunk their glass together.
