LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX (EPISODE 50)

                         EPISODE 50

Spring was coming in fast and was leaving its footprints behind as it moved along.

Mandy and Joey, bored from doing nothing but sleep, work, and think all day decided to have a little bit of fun.

"Seriously!" Mandy exclaimed. "You know the sad part is the fact that l am actually not surprised but l am disappointed though. I was expecting a lousy suggestion, but I hoped it won't be, at the very least not this time." Mandy said looking dejected. "Is this really your own definition of fun?" She asked again.

"Well, it seems..."

"I wasn't expecting anything spectacular from you actually, but at least I had a pinch of hope. Who in the world regard cleaning of windows as fun." She added, now laughing hysterically.

It turned out to be fun at the end of the day.

The early morning spring due had left a hazy appearance on all the louvers around the house. Kimberly, the housekeeper was still busy with other things, Joey wasn't the kind of boss who would want to drain out every drop of strength his employees have just because he was paying them. Kimberly

was a lady in her early forties, and she wasn't the fast type. It's a mystery how Joey still left her to work for him, with him being someone who detested siuggishness.

"I just thought we could give Kimberly a hand," Joey said to Mandy with a smile on his face, realizing that Mandy was actually having genuine fun.

"Oh wow. That's really nice of you. I still can't believe I'm actually having fun doing this."

"Me too," Joey said. "Probably because I'm doing it with you." He added.

"What did you say?" Mandy asked startled by Joey's statement. Her face turning blazing red and her heart making some irregular rhythmic movement.

"You said you were having fun and I said I was also having fun, and it probably is because I'm doing this with you," Joey said again, so carefree, unaware of the fact he was causing some mental imbalance in the other party with his words.

Mandy's tapped her face with her hand, forgetting the fact that she had a dirty rag on the other.

"What are you doing?" Joey asked as he maneuvered to the other side of the wall-sized window grabbing Mandy by the hand. "Is everything okay?" He asked again.

Mandy began making hiccups noises. She kept blinking her eyes consistently while she stared at Joey who held her hand and was also staring straight into her eyes.

"Huh!" Mandy managed to exclaim. "Oh my goodness!" She screamed realizing she was rubbing a dirty cleaning rag over her face.

"Are you okay?" Joey asked again.

"Erm...yeah, I am," Mandy said stuttering.

"How in the world could he say something like that so easily, more importantly, why in the world am I reacting to a single statement this way!" Mandy said within herself.

"Are you sure?" Joey asked her again, noticing she was staring into the blank. He knew she was thinking about something.

"Perfectly!" Mandy said as she dropped the rag and the cleaning lubricant on the table very close to her. "Erm... think I've had enough fun for today. Thank you." Mandy said as she walked briskly into her room.

"That was... that was... that was definitely not easy," Joey said to himself the moment Mandy was out of his sight, holding on to his chest. "Why in the world did I even say that! It wasn't easy acting carefree at all, it definitely wasn't." Joey said to himself again as he sat on the floor sliding his back over the window. "But, I wonder why she was so affected by it, or could it just be me chasing the clouds." Joey pondered.

It was eight on Tuesday evening, Joey isn't looking so happy.

"And you felt telling me about it wasn't necessary!" Joey screamed over the phone.

"No, not really! That wasn't my intention in any way." Kai said softly trying to make sure Joey could hear her perfectly and also that Mrs. Mallory wouldn't be able to. "I just wanted to get more Intel on the story before I tell you about it." Kai tried explaining.

"More Intel? More Intel! So tell me, do you have the 'more Intel' now?" Joey asked mockingly. "You just let a one-time opportunity slip away from our fingers. I can't believe all of this had been happening and you didn't consider it necessary to talk to me about it. Kai comes on, for heaven's sake, I keep telling you time and time again, we are running out of time. It won't be long now before Jake uncovers everything, all my years of labor, there is no way I'm letting it go just like that. Trust I won't lose this fight because of you!"

"I'm sorry sir!" Kai said apologizing.

"There is nothing your apology can do right now. The damage has already been done."

Joey finally noticed the figure who has been standing at the door for a very long while.

"Be here tomorrow before six. I think it's time I take things seriously." Joey said as he ended the call with anger running through his veins.

"Seems like you are not in your best mood," Mandy said as she walked into the study.

"Not one of my best I won't lie."

"What's going on? You wanna, talk about it?" Mandy asked feeling concerned.

"Trust me I would love to," Joey said as he walked to his chair.

"Alright then, hit me with it," Mandy said as she leaned into her chair, even more, figuring it was going to be a long talk.

#############

"Good morning babe!" Jake said to Tiffany who was still on the bed. "I brought you breakfast." He said again, dropping the food tray on the stool table, next to him.

"I don't feel like eating," Tiffany said as she turned her head facing the other direction.

"But babe!" Jake called out as he moved over to the other side where Tiffany had faced. "You told me this yesterday, the day before that, and the other days before that too. Do you want me to lose you too?"

"Wouldn't that make you happy?" Tiffany  said with an unclear voice.

"Oh, babe just stop this already. Just stop this. Every time I try to talk to you, you always somehow just find a way to bring in Mandy, even when she is irrelevant and unrelated to the conversation. I don't get you anymore.” Jake said feeling frustrated.

"Well can you blame me!" Mandy cried as she sat up on the bed abruptly.

"Would you blame me though?" She said again. "I lost my child because I was trying to stop you from going to meet her. I tried getting you to stay behind but you were already bent on going to see her." Tiffany cried again.

"Do you even love me still?" She asked with pitiful eyes.

"Why would you even ask me that?" Jake said as she grabbed a hold of Tiffany's hands. He rained kisses on them. "Why would even you ever doubt for a second if I do? Everything I do right now, I do them basically for you. Mandy is one of our biggest threats. I didn't want to tell you this before, but it seems like you keep misunderstanding my wanting to get Mandy back so l have no choice but to let you know." Jake said to Tiffany as he moved closer to her. "I thought I was punishing her, l thought it was me being wicked to her because I thought she would never leave, Mandy has access to the documents," Joey said feeling stupid.

"You…you are joking right!" Tiffany said with a smirk on her face.

"I am not, I am as serious as the word serious itself."

"Jake!" Tiffany cried out. "How could you had been so stupid and careless? “ Tiffany asked.

"It wasn't my fault, it wasn't my intention. It all happened that night, at the night of your birthday party." Jake said feeling even more frustrated. "I didn't know what I was doing, was drunk, everything just happened so fast."

"Does she also have access to THE DOCUMENT?" Tiffany asked, hoping desperately for Jake to say no.

Jake stood up from the bed, his eyes said it all, it looked like he was going to break down in tears any moment from now there was no point saying anything. He brushed his head leaving it in a messed up state, he was

mentally messed up already. "She has access to all the documents Tiff!" He cried.

"Oh no, Jake! What in the world have you done? Does she know?" Tiffany asked.

"No! Yes! No! I mean I don't know, l’m not sure. It doesn't seem like she does!" Jake said fidgeting.

"Okay, calm your nerves. We just have to come up with a plan." The scary and battle-ready Tiffany just woke up. "I gat you baby!" Tiffany said pulling Jake into her arms like a baby who needs some cuddling.

The atmosphere at Brandon's residence wasn't very friendly either.

"Good day everyone," Joey said to the twelve seated at the conference table, in his conference hall. "It is the time!"

It seemed like the battle line had been

drawn.
