EPISODE 40
"What did the detective say?" Tiffany asked Jake as she passed a glass of warm water to him, when he finally became relaxed again. "Is anything wrong?" She asked again.
"Tiff." Jake called her. " Would you wait for me to be out if I end up having to be locked up in cell?"
"Well..it all depends on how long you get locked up." Tiffany said rolling her eyes not wanting to look at Jake's face.
"Babe! C'mon be serious!" Jake cried.
"But I am, serious." Tiffany said as she squinted her eyes.
It was crazy how Jake got this emotionally attached with Tiffany, at first many people felt he was only trying to play with her heart,
considering his looks everyone thought he was a playboy. The one whom Jake had a thing for was Mandy, ever since the very first day she walked into the class, Tiffany had always been there, but Jake never looked at her side.
Jake was the total opposite of what people presumed he was, rather than a player he was a complete softie, very shy, and emotionally fragile. He couldn't summon up the courage to tell Mandy how he felt, he was being a shy boy, so he took a peripheral route, by going through Tiffany.
However, little did Jake know, that Tiffany never for once told Mandy anything about how he felt, she rather came back with untrue replies which made Jake drift totally away from Mandy, having a wrong conception about who she was. The brawl between Tiffany and Mandy started from then, but it was only growing silently.
"You really would leave me?" Jake asked again.
"Let's not talk about it." Tiffany replied.
"The future alone knows what it holds, I don't wish for that to ever happen, but if it does, even I don't know what my reaction would be. I won't promise you anything." Tiffany added.
Jake stood up and walked away. Few minutes later Jake returned again, dressed up like he was about going somewhere. "I would be back." He said as he adjusted his wristwatch.
"Babe!" Tiffany said holding him back.
"You still haven't told me what the detective said. You are getting me really worried leaving me in suspense.
You know it's not good for me." She placed her hand on her stomach and rubbed over it gently. "It's not good for our child either."
Jake turned the moment he heard the last statement Tiffany made. "Child!" He exclaimed wearing an expression of shock mixed with excitement.
"Yes babe! You heard me correctly. Our child." She said again with a beautiful smile resting on her face.
"How did it happen? When did it happen? Why didn't you tell me? How long have you known? When did you find out? Oh my goodness I'm asking so many questions! I can't believe this, am going to be a father!" Jake screamed in a happy tone.
"Calm down babe!" Tiffany said placing her palm on Jake's blazing red cheeks.
"You have to stay calm. I didn't want to tell you about this because of the current situation of things, but I realized that if I kept waiting for the right moment, I just may never find it.
So please babe, for the sake of the child, for the sake of you and l, you have to clean up whatever mess, that happened. You can't afford to go to prison." She withdrew one of her hand and placed it back on her stomach. "Not now, not ever!"
"I will be back babe!" Jake said as he left.
"He still didn't tell me what the detective said." Tiffany said soliloquizing as she walked away from the door.
"Babe!" Jake called out as he grabbed on to Tiffany and turned her towards him. "It seems Mandy is with Joey." Jake said with a sad smile and then he rushed out.
"Joey!" Tiffany exclaimed as she missed a step. "Oh no!" She said making her blonde curly hair into a mess. "This is bad, really really bad."
