                            EPISODE 39

After Joey finished his narration Mandy looked at him in astonishment. She,  was enthralled by his plan, she absolutely loved it.

"So, are you ready for this?" Joey asked looking tensed up, as he waited for Mandy's response.

"You see..." Mandy stared keeping her

face like she wasn't going to flow with his plan, making Joey even more tensed up.” l was born ready!" She screamed.

Joey held on to his heart almost like he just saved it from falling off and then he heaved a very loud sigh of relief.

"Let's go, I'm pretty sure they are searching for you right now. We don't have time anymore, it won't be long until they find you here, they could hack your phone and try to see your text messages, we have to leave now."

Joey flung a face cap towards Mandy.

They both stood up after Joey paid the bill.

"You still haven't told me why you are doing this." Mandy said holding on to Joey wool sweats.

"At the right time, I definitely would."

He said as he slowly pulled her hand away. 

Just as Mandy was about returning her hand to her body, Joey grabbed on to it, holding it firmly, almost like she would run away if he doesn't.

Mandy was cut off guard, while he walked her outside the restaurant looking at the door, Mandy walked beside him with her eyes fixes on him!

She felt her heart do a flip.

"Isn't that the lady in the picture?" A man said to his friend as they walked into the restaurant.

"Where, where is she?" The other person anxiously asked.

Before they could take a look at the picture and a second glance at Mandy to confirm if it was actually her, she disappeared into thin air.

"She's gone!" They both said in unison, sighing disappointedly.

"What's the update?" Tiffany asked Jake as she arrived at the residence.

"Oh Tiff!" Jake exclaimed in a baby's voice as he ran straight into Tiffany's opened arm. "I've missed you, l've missed you! I've terribly missed you!" Jake said as she planted kisses all over her face. "I felt so alone like I was being choked up by the whole situation, but now I can breathe again, and it's all because you are here." Jake said as he raised Tiffany above the floor, twirling her round. "You're my oxygen you know." He said starring at her with a soft gaze, just before kissing her on the lips.

"Oh silly you!" Tiffany shyly said as Jake returned her to the floor. "What's the update?" Tiffany asked again.

"Nothing positive!" Jake said with a disappointing look. "I even spoke with our head staff, and she told me about her last encounter with Mandy today just before she left, but I still can’t trace anything, but from the discussion she told me Mandy had with my mom before leaving, I feel my mom pushed her to, but the big question is where?"

"Everything would be fine. Soon a clue would come, a positive one, l just know it." Tiffany said as she rubbed on Jake's back trying to calm him down and ease his tension.

Jake’s phone rang.

"Hello! Any positive results," Jake asked the detective.

"Erm...not really but my colleague said he saw someone who looked like your wife, I wasn't able to confirm it though, she disappeared before we could do so but she..."

"Did you call me to get me more upset?" Jake asked as he stood up inna rage. "What am I supposed to do with such an information?"

"Sir. Sir, you have to stay calm! She was with someone, a man. I wanted to confirm with you if you feel your wife might have ran away with some other man, so I know my next line of action."

"A man!" Jake said. He started fidgeting again, he held on to his leg as it became wobbly. "It can't be..." Jake said with a smile that said he was afraid. "It can't be right, Tiff?" Jake asked Tiffany not looking at her, as he panted heavily even though he didn't run. Jake's mind flashed back to the day of the accident.

####FLASHBACK####

"He did it, it was all him!" Jake had told the cop who arrived at the scene. Just like Judas sold Jesus with a kiss for 30 pieces of silver, Jake sold his best friend with his words just to save himself.

Jake's phone fell from his hand, this was a new phone he just got after smashing the former one.

"It can't be! It shouldn't be!" Jake said as he fell into the couch. More like he was in a trance, Jake couldn't see anything although his eyes were open, he couldn't hear anything even though he wasn't deaf.

"Jake! Jake! Jay! Baby!" Tiffany kept screaming, but Jake couldn't hear her.

At that moment life was placed on mute for him.
