LEGALLY MARRIED TO MY EX (Episode 36)

                              EPISODE 36

"My name is Joey, Joey Brandon!" Joey said as he began his autobiography. "Just like you l am also form North Carolina. It is not easy to be me, and it is definitely not easy living my life. I am the first, last and the only child of my late parents. My mother died in a car accident on her way to my middle school graduation ceremony. My father...hmmm..." Joey paused, no smile on his face, but an expression that seemed like sadness. " His death isn't one I would love to talk about right now, let's skip that and save it for later."

"It's fine. Whenever you feel like you are ready to talk about it, I will be hear with my ears ready to listen." Mandy said with a smile trying to get him into smiling too.

"Yh, let's do that." He said returning the smile, but a very faint one. "I went to prison right after high school, and I spent almost five years there. When I got out almost all of my friends and highschool mates were already graduates, the ones who were yet to graduate were in their final year. I didn't know what to do or where to start from, in this world filled with millions and billions of people, I felt lonely, rejected and outcasted."

"Here you go." The waiter said as he placed a glass of orange juice and a box of pizza before Mandy on the table.

"Oh thank you." Mandy courteously replied.

"I went to the central park to rest my head and filter out every negative feeling." Joey said as he took out a slice from the pizza box. " I saw kids with their parents playing around with so much happiness and enthusiasm. Ever since I was in prison a smile never brushed past my face, not even by chance. While I was still engrossed by the happiness this innocent looking kids displayed , a little girl walked up to me and pointed towards the sky. I looked around to know if I would find her parents

assuming maybe she was lost. I stood up to take a clearer look around if I would see anyone looking for a child, but I didn't see anyone. I decided to take a few steps further to have a proper look when, the little girl grabbed my pinky finger with her entire hands, when I turned back, the eyes I saw gave me a kind of feeling I can't explain with words."

"Oh, sorry!" Mandy said to Joey as she brushed into his hands trying to take a slice of pizza at the same moment he also wanted to.

"I am sorry too." Joey said, knowing it wasn't just her fault alone. " She pointed towards the sky again." Joey said as he continued his story. " That was when I realized what the little girl actually wanted. Her kite which was stuck on the cherry tree floated in the sky. I didn't know how I was going to do it, but I knew I was going to get it down for the puppy eyes staring at me. As I gave the kite to her after bringing it down, she smiled at me and then ran to her parents who apparently had been staring at us the entire time. That was I realized I had been used, it happened that her parents asked her to come ask me to get it down for her." Jake smiled brightly now, remembering a kid used him was very hilarious. " What actually got me mesmerized was when I figured out she wanted to get the kite down not even for herself but for her baby brother who was crawling on the mat. I was happy I made them happy, and I felt this sense of fulfilment, strangely."

"Erm... what do we do?" Joey asked smiling at Mandy as they both looked at the last slice of pizza.

"Leave it for me, that's what." Mandy said laughing.

"Alright, you can have it." Joey said letting her win.

"That was where the idea of 'Joy Park' came from." Joey folded his hands, laid back and watched Mandy make the facial expression he knew she was going to make. " I know the questions floating in your head, I would answer them. Yes! The joy park I am talking about is the joy park in your head. I own joy park."

Joy park was the biggest private park in the whole of North Carolina, and couldn't believe she was sitting before such a big personality.

No one knew what the CEO of joy park looked like, not even his name, they only knew his gender and gave him the nickname ABM (Anonymous Big Man).

"Don't tell me you own, 'Just-For-You' and 'Jolly Rides' too?" Mandy asked still amazed.

"Yes, I do." Joey replied trying to sound as humble as he could.

The general brand name was J-BRAND, Joy Park, Just-For-You and Jolly Rides were the three companies making up J-BRAND.

"Wow! How did it happen?" Mandy asked with her eyes screaming curiosity.
