EPISODE 29
"No! No! Babe see..." Jake moved closer to her and drew her close to him.
"Forget I said all of that. It's just that l asked Mandy to come to the office today, I had promised to give her a tour around the company and she seemed excited about it." Jake said happily.
"Is she the one excited about the tour or is it you?" Tiffany asked as she saw the excitement burning in Jake's eyes.
"What do you mean?" Jake asked as the smile on his face fades away.
"The statement I made is clear Jake. Look at you, I can't remember the last time I saw you this happy." Tiffany wasn't too happy about Jake's reaction.
"Tiff!" Jake called out again this time with his hands caressing her face.
"Look at me." He said turning her face to him. "No one, I repeat no one, can take your place in my life, and I'm not going to stress so much on this."
He kissed her forehead and then he walked back to his desk.
"So what exactly is the issue?" Tiffany asked feeling more relaxed and at ease.
She is more reassured that she still remains the queen of her territory.
"Joey! Joey is the issue." Jake said in a low voice, but yet still showing the intensity of the situation. " We need to find a way to break into his defense because he already broke into ours."
"But..." Tiffany said cutting Jake off. "Are you sure it was Joey you saw and are you even sure he knows Mandy is married to you? Do you really think he is close to her just to get to you?” Tiffany asked.
"What is this supposed to mean?" Jake asked annoyed all of sudden.
"You and I know that if truly Joey knows where you stay at the very least, he won't even waste a second before he comes to pull the trigger on your head, remembering all that you did to him, his family and made him go through, Nah, Nah, Joey won't want to play this hide and seek game with you." Tiffany blurted out.
Jake couldn't say anything, for as much as he was not happy with Tiffany making such a statement he stillcouldn't deny the fact that everything she had said was true. Jake messed up Joey's life.
"So what do I do about Mandy?" Jake asked trying to change the subject of discussion.
"I know just the thing!" Tiffany said wearing an evil smile on her face.
#################
"You didn't come to the office again," Jake said to Mandy who was watching an opera on TV.
"I never told you I was going to come,"
Mandy responded.
"I asked you to come through and you seemed excited when I said it."
Mandy laughed. "Excited? Me! I don't think you know what you saw. You told me to come to the company and that was it. I never gave you any response, you didn't even wait to hear it."
"Okay then! If that's what you say, there is no problem."
Jake didn't act as he had been acting the past few days, unlike the new him, he made no struggle or even pushed the argument further, he just agreed and walked away.
Jake noticed Kai making apple juice for Mandy in the kitchen. He walked to the kitchen with his heart racing very fast.
"I would give it to her myself." He said taking the tray from Kai. "You can go." He added.
Jake's heart raced really fast. He was scared, this is something he never saw himself doing and as usual, it was Tiffany's idea again. If Jake wasn't as desperate as he was, never would he had considered this an option.
"Here you go," Jake said as he handed the glass to Mandy. "As you said before, I won't pester you further. I would stop here."
Mandy took the glass from him, and then she gulped down the entire glass of chilled apple juice. She felt bad about how she had made Jake feel.
"Good morning babe!" Jake said with a smile as he planted kisses on Mandy's forehead.
Mandy slowly opened her eyes, as her sleep got distorted.
"Tell me nothing happened," Mandy begged.
"No! No! No! Not again! No please tell me it didn't happen again." Mandy cried out.
In all of this, Jake kept mute.
It was the same scene replaying all over again. Once again Mandy woke up to Jake next to her in bed, having no idea about how it happened. There was a slight difference though, the expression on Jake's face was different this time. He was strangely happy.
