EPISODE 20
It's been three days since Mandy got the text message and since then she hadn't done anything nor told anyone about it, and the caller hasn't called back since then.
Mrs. Mallory was in her room getting ready to go to the office when she received a call from an unknown number.
"Hello!" Mrs. Mallory said over the phone which she held with trembling fingers. "Who are you?" She asked still trembling.
There was no response.
"Who are you?" She yelled this time.
"What do you want? Speak up!" Still, there was no response.
Mrs. Mallory had tried calling the number with which she received the message, but the call didn't go through. Not long after she failed the attempt, this number called her. She's been trying to get the caller into speaking but there was no response.
"Who are you? Why did you call me? Please tell me what you want!" She pleaded, but still no response. The call ended and then she slumped into the couch.
Mrs. Mallory was on a hot seat. Nothing has ever put so much pressure on her before. She was afraid hoping it won't be who or what she thinks it is.
Mandy picked up her shopping bag, after dressing up, it's been almost a week since she stepped her feet out of the house.
"Where are you off to?" Tiffany asked Mandy.
Mandy initially didn't want to answer but just walk away, but she also wasn't in the mood for fights and arguments, plus Jake wasn't going to the office today. Today was his off day, but still, he worked from home on his laptop.
"I'm off to the supermarket," Mandy answered turning towards Tiffany.
"...to the supermarket! Tiffany said trying to understand what Mandy was going there for. What do you want to do there?" Tiffany asked curiously.
"What do they do at the supermarket Tiffany?"
Mandy asked her frustratingly. Noticing the agitation in Tiffany's eyes which screamed she was ready for a fight which Mandy knew she definitely wasn't ready for she quickly answered her question. I am going there to buy things, Tiffany."
"Things for..?" Tiffany still asked again.
Mandy got to her endurance limit. She heaved out a heavy sigh trying to calm herself down and collect her emotions in order.
"...cooking, Tiffany. I am going to the supermarket to get things for cooking!
Can I go now?"
"Oh no, you can't! Tiffany retorted in a loud voice. "I'm not done yet, because I still don't understand what you are going to the supermarket for," Tiffany adjusted her body on the couch trying to collect her words. "You want to go to the supermarket, to get things for cooking. Cooking for who if I may ask?" Tiffany said with her hands folded. "Where do you even plan on making this delicacy of yours?"
"Tiffany, I want to cook for myself and my husband but I will definitely increase the quantity just in case anyone else would love to eat. And obviously, I am going to cook in the kitchen. Can I go?"
"No, you still can't go. Why do you want to cook?"
"Because I want to, I want to okay and that's what I'm going to do."
"No, you won't, because you are not going to use my kitchen. I don't care if you go to the heavens to get the ingredients, but you won't use my kitchen so, just find someplace else to cook your recipe."
"And... why wouldn't I cook here?"
“because I don't want you to."
"Oh, Tiffany you can't be serious. Why do you always love getting on my nerves? I just still don't understand how frustrating me to give you joy. Just leave me alone. Jake is right beside you," Mandy said pointing towards Jake. "Have him, talk to him, annoy him, be in his business, and leave me the hell alone. Please!" Mandy cried out. "This is getting unbearable, just let me go!"
"I don't even care about you, stop feeling yourself, you're not that important, you're not so relevant. Okay, so just stop all of this self-proclamation."
"Tiffany, you killed my child. Isn't that enough for you and Jake?" The moment Mandy made that statement, Jake shuddered. It had been a long since that conversation came up. "You took the only thing that was relevant in my life; you shattered my hopes and dreams; isn't that enough? What do you want? My life?!" Mandy walked closer to Tiffany with tears in her eyes.
"Come take it! Just take it, Tiffany. Kill me! Kill me and be happy! Kill and all your problems would be solved since you keep making it obvious that I'm your only problem."
She picked up Tiffany's hands and pulled her up from the couch. Mandy was just a few inches taller than Tiffany; she placed Tiffany's hands over her throat and pressed on it.
Tiffany was confused as to what Mandy was doing, but for a split second, Tiffany grabbed onto Mandy's throat, pressing hard on it and actually wanting to kill her.
Tiffany kept applying pressure until Mandy started choking, Jake quickly grabbed onto Tiffany's hands and pulled out her hands, then he held on to Mandy.
For a moment, Jake was scared. Tiffany had scared him.
"Are you afraid of me?" Tiffany asked Jake with disappointment in her eyes.
The look on Jake's face showed his fear, he knew they both wanted Mandy dead, but he was never really confident about it, all he wants is to make her suffer, but killing her was just going too far, the first time they ever planned that, Tiffany suggested the idea. He never even imagined that Tiffany would have the guts to want to kill someone whom she once called sister with her bare hands.
Mandy moved away from Jake's grip and then she fell to the ground. Tiffany couldn't stand Jake staring at her with those fearful looks in his eyes, she ran upstairs packed up some clothes, and then she ran out of the house weeping bitterly.
Mandy stood up after trying to gasp for breath, and then she ran to her room. Jake just stood there, confused about whom he was to run after.
Tiffany bumped into Mrs. Mallory on her way out. Mrs. Mallory was too scared to stay at the penthouse, she wanted some fun and a little bit of distraction, so she comes to piss off the ladies in the house again, but it was bad timing for her, the house wasn't in the best mood.
She asked Jake who was still standing what had happened, and Jake told her how Mandy had compelled Tiffany to choke her to death, and how Tiffany actually gave in and tried doing it. He told her how Tiffany had run away after seeing the fear in his eyes as he pulled her hands away from Mandy's throat.
Mrs. Mallory just kept laughing. Everything was just too funny to her.
"So, what now?" She asked as was about sitting down. What are you going to do? Would you go outside running after your murderer of a mistress, or would you go upstairs and run towards your wife whom you don't love?"
The staff was peeping from the kitchen and different locations and positions.
Everyone was curious as to whom their boss would pick. Obviously, everyone was cheering on for Mandy, but it was still plain out obvious whom Jake was going to pick.
Tiffany was outside, still hoping that Jake would come out to beg her and bring her back. She was running out of patience and was going to wait for extra five minutes.

Mandy was in her room crying, all she wanted was to be alone; the last thing she needed was for anyone to come to her.
While one wants to be checked upon and begged, the other wants nothing to do with anybody and the last thing she needed was for anyone to come to tell her sorry.
It seemed like Jake had made his pick and he ran, like his life depended on it, he ran towards the gate.
Everyone was sad, but not surprised; they were disappointed but not shocked. They all already knew Jake was going to go after Tiffany, but somewhere in all of them, there was this hope that he would pick Mandy this time.
Mrs. Mallory, stood up, in shock like she was seeing someone she wasn't supposed to, Jake was running back inside, even more desperately than he had run outside. It was less than fifteen minutes after Jake had gone out, he came back alone, Tiffany wasn't with him.
Without saying a word to anyone, he ran upstairs not counting his steps as he flew above as many stairs cases as he could.
Everyone was happy, the staff couldn't hold in their excitement. They jumped up with happiness. Jake had for the first time in his life, chosen Mandy over Tiffany.
But the big question was, why?
—Do you know why?—
