EPISODE 17
FLASHBACK
"What are you doing here?" Jake had screamed noticing the figure beside him.
Mandy was still sleeping; the alcohol was still with her.
"Wake up!" He screamed again, shaking her this time. Oh my God! What have I done? What have I done?" Jake cried, messing up his already messed up hair even more as he brushes his hand through it.
Mandy was waking up now, slowly. The alcohol was gradually fading away. "Oh my God! Oh my God!" Mandy screamed covering her face. "How did I get here? How did we get here? How did this happen?" Mandy asked still feeling confused.
Mandy was furious only because she woke up in bed next to her best friend's boyfriend, she still wants to believe nothing had happened. To Mandy, just waking up beside her best friend's boyfriend is betrayal enough. She slowly pulled up the duvet, she had her doubts but she was still trying to be confident that nothing happened except just sleeping next to each other.
Mandy was fidgeting. Her fears had finally come true, she was stacked naked. "Oh my God! What have I done?" Mandy was broken.
No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't remember how any of this had happened. The last memory Mandy had was talking with Tiffany in the living room with a glass of whiskey in her hand.
"What happened, Mandy?" Jake asked her as she owed him answers like she was supposed to know what happened.
Mandy looked at Jake with disappointment in her eyes. Looking at the expression on his face, she already knew what to expect from him if she should actually become pregnant.
While Mandy still tried to phantom what was going on, she was still trying to get her words ready, she still didn't know what to say to Tiffany or how to say it, Tiffany walked in.
The atmosphere was tensed, not for Tiffany, not for Jake, but for Mandy. She couldn't deal with the stares. Tiffany looked at her with disappointment in her eyes, and Jake looked at her with a gaze that asked for explanations.
She could understand Tiffany for looking at her the way she did, but it just didn't make any sense to her that Jake was trying to blame her for all of this.
"It's not what you think Tiff! It's not what (Mandy knew her best friend wasn't buying any of the things she was saying)...Tiff, believe me, this isn't what it looks like." Mandy said with pleading eyes, but it was futile, the one she was pleading with already had another view of the whole situation in her mind.
"Jake!" Tiffany screamed.

####PRESENT####
Mandy looked at herself in the mirror, she smiled at the lady she saw reflecting in it.
"You're pretty" (she said to herself still wearing the smile), even your scars couldn't make you any less pretty. You have been through a lot, but it doesn't really matter." Mandy pouted
her lips and applied her strawberry lip-gloss to complete the artwork she had done on her face.
"Ma'am, Boss... I'm sorry I mean Mr. Jake said I should call you. He is downstairs." Kai said, as politely as she could.
"Okay, I will be there," Mandy said dropping down the lip-gloss.
Mandy was happy, she was stupid to feel that way, but she still couldn't help but just be happy. She had never dressed up for any occasion ever since she stepped her feet into the Mallory's residence. Tiffany's party was the last time she had had to wear makeup.
She wasn't happy simply because Jake had asked her out for the company's dinner, what really got her excited was the fact that for the first time in a very long while she felt pretty again.
The smile on Mandy's face disappeared the moment she saw Tiffany all dressed up, and standing next to Jake.
"I should have known." She said out loud. "I'm sure you both had a swell of an entertainment." Mandy was sad.
There was nothing more painful than realizing you've been played once again by people you know had no good intentions for you. She saw this coming, but somewhere within her, she had hoped that Jake would have been genuine even for the slightest.
"What are you talking about?" Jake asked her with a confused look. "We've been down here waiting patiently for you and what you could say the very moment you saw us is this!" Jake was infuriated.
Mandy was confused, she wondered if she had made a wrong conclusion.
"Look, yes we don't have the best relationship and we probably never will, but you shouldn't let it cloud your judgment of us," Tiffany added, holding Jake's hand.
"Let's go!" Jake said signaling Mandy to come with them.
Looking at the people before her, Mandy didn't know what to do or say.
She just stood looking confused. It would have made more sense to her if the scenario she had played in her head ended up playing out, seeing them actually inviting her to go with them to the party just left her even more bewildered.
Tiffany sat with Jake at the back, while Mandy sat at the front. Everything seemed normal, but there was always definitely that one thing that would seem abnormal. Mandy noticed something, Jake and Tiffany weren't overdressed, and they just showed up
Yooking casual but good.
She looked at them again and looked at herself, she definitely went overboard with her dressing, but you couldn't blame her, it was just like when you let a bird out of the cage after being locked in for a long while.
"I get the whole thing you said, I understand what you are trying to do, but l am still not happy with her going with us," Tiffany whispered into Jake's ears.
"Do you think I wanted her to come with us either? Just relax and enjoy the fun.
The comic relief is about to happen, don't stop the show when it's still showing the tragic scenes, the comedy is coming!" Jake whispered back into Tiffany's ears.
Mandy watched them from the mirror a little above her head. She felt really left out, most of all she had a very strong feeling that the whispering was about her.
"You would have to wait behind," Jake said to Jonas as he stepped down from the car. "Just park the car around and then you could hook yourself anywhere as you hang around. The party would be over in less than three hours."
Jonas had gone to open the other door for Tiffany. Everything Tiffany wore smelt of wealth. From her to die for white converse, to the denim black Jeans she wore, to her beautifully made and quality looking navy blue turtle neck. Jake was dressed in the same way as Tiffany.
"What are you waiting for?" Tiffany cried out to Mandy. We have been here for quite a long while, just come out already. We didn't bring you here with us so you could just sit in the car!" Tiffany yelled, pissed off by Mandy who wasting their time.
"Yh! (Mandy said with a low voice.) You obviously didn't bring me here to sit in the car, because if I did then you won't get the laugh you want. (Mandy scoffed, and then she wore sadness on her face.) You told me this was a
cocktail party and the dress code was fancy dinner gown for the ladies and a tuxedo suit for the men."
Tiffany didn't even budge. She wasn't really scared of whatever it was Mandy had to think.
"What did you think? That we brought you here so you could have a swell time? Wake up stupid Mandy. You're actually very easy to manipulate because you make your weaknesses very visible. It was so out in the open that you felt stuffed up having to stay either at the penthouse or the main building. You kept showing everyone that you were tired of the repetitive life routine, so it wasn't hard to get the information needed to sway you." Tiffany said with an evil smile on her face.
"I can't believe you, Mandy! (Jake blurted out.) I can't believe that after all, it was that I did for you; you still find it very easy to believe me. I had always hated the fact that you’re smart, because every time, you try to outsmart me, and now you've ruined the entire surprise, because your same sharp brain, already figured out what this was all about, before the big surprise."
Mandy wiped off the teardrop about falling off her cheek, she retouched her makeup and walked out of them unapologetically. "You want a drama right, you need a show, you want some comic relief, don't worry I would give them all to you."
It was Showtime. Mandy laid her hair prettily. Jake and Tiffany were excited, although it wasn't going to be as humiliating as they had planned, but they were still excited about seeing Mandy even the least humiliated.
Things weren't going to go as they had planned.
"Would you both be laughing, or would I be smiling?" Mandy asked with a smile. "Don't get too excited, but get your popcorns ready, because it’s going to be an amazing show." There was this look in her eyes, a look no one had ever seen.
-if you were Mandy what would you do?—
