FLASHBACK
"Hey, dear best friend, your party is lit!" Mandy said at the top of her voice trying to be sure Tiffany heard her over the loud music.
"Are you drunk?" Tiffany asked getting a hold of her bestie. "Oh my goodness, you reek of alcohol," Tiffany said as she felt Mandy's breath on her.
"Me? Drunk? No way! You know me, Tiff, I don't get knocked out that easily, I just..."
"Goodness gracious, girl what have you been eating?" Tiffany asked her best friend who collapsed on her body. "Oh, who am I kidding?" She said realizing Mandy already slept off.
She took Mandy to the couch and laid her gently on it. That was when she realized, that almost everyone at the party was down too, just like Mandy."
"Now this is strange, Mandy isn't one to get knocked out easily and... (She yawned feeling dizzy herself.)....... am definitely not one to...to get knocked out too. Where is the toilet, l have to ease myself."
Tiffany managed to walk her way to the toilet. She heard some noises and then she came out after she was done.
"Maybe I should just rest a little," Tiffany said as she walked her into the room on her left. "Oh my, I'm so sorry." She said apologizing to the two people making out in the room; little did she know it was her drunken boyfriend and
best friend. Everyone was under the influence of something more than just alcohol.
She walked out of the room and headed to the room on her right.
###PRESENT###
"Ma'am, are you okay?" Kali inquired from Mandy who was wailing in pain.
Mandy couldn't say anything; all she could do was wail and scream. If she wasted any more time she was definitely going to lose the baby. Kali ran back inside with Ray and Jonas
who helped her get Mandy into the car.
"I am sorry ma'am! But you lost the baby." The doctor said to Mandy who already regained her consciousness back. "You would be discharged in two days." He said handing some files over to the nurse with him.
"No, no, no, no! Tell me it's a lie! No!" Mandy screamed. She was in pain; this pain was way deeper than any other kind of pain the Mallory's made her feel.
Not only did they treat her less than a human should be treated, but they've also killed the one thing that gave her strength and kept her going, and the worse of it all is the fact that they dont even care.
"Be strong ma'am." Were the only words Kali could say to Mandy in the car.
Ray opened the gate and Jonas drove in.
Mandy walked into the house and what she saw only infuriated her the more. Now she had nothing to lose.
She walked over to where Jake and Tiffany were acting all mushy, lifeless and without strength. She had lost her will to live. She flung the TV remote very hard across the TV and then she took out the TV switch.
"You are not a human Jake! (Tears rolled down her cheeks.) | never asked you to love me, did I? I never asked you to care for me, did I? I never asked you for your time, did I? All I asked was that you treat me with the least decency of a human. Are you happy now? Are you satisfied? You've finally gotten what you wanted. Wow! Kali bring me some champagne because my beloved husband would love to celebrate now."
"What are you yapping about? And what the hell do you think you're doing?" Jake said feeling furious and burning with rage."
"What am I yapping about? (Mandy couldn't hold it in; the tears flowed down like a waterfall) Jake, | can't believe it. All because of your mistress, you pushed me to the floor and left me there not minding the fact that I was carrying your child! I was in pain, screaming, but you didn't even turn to know why. I left this house bleeding because of you, I didn't come back for two days and you didn't care, now I've lost the only thing that mattered to me in life, now I've lost my child because of you. Oh, Jake Mallory! (She cried out very loud.) I would make you pay for all of this, someday, you would beg me, and it would be too late because then I won't even bat an eye."
"You've lost the baby? (Tiffany asked with excitement in her voice) Oh my goodness, that is great news, Kali hurry up with the
champagne!"
Mandy became even angrier. She couldn't tell if she was standing before human beings or two hideous monsters. She bit her lower lips really hard until she had a tear and it began
to bleed. She clenched her fist and grinds her teeth, she was holding back with every energy in her. She was holding back for the sake of the happy memories.
"Now you have no reason to be here. Get out you whore!" Tiffany said with a mocking smile.
"Oh! That's it!" Mandy said. She couldn't hold it anymore, the one whom she was trying to stay calm for, didn't deserve it. She rushed over to where Tiffany was and gave her slaps across her face simultaneously. Then she went for her hair and pulled it as hard as she could, almost taking it out from the skull. Tiffany screamed because the pain from the surgery was still very fresh.
Jake pulled Mandy away and hit her severally with punches and slaps. This wasn't something a human being would. Not to a woman who once carried your child.
"Don't you ever lay your filthy hands on Tiffany ever again, more so in my presence!" He picked Tiffany up and they left the living room.
Sobbing had become Mandy's music, sadness her favorite mood, loneliness her best friend, and pain her daily meal!
Mandy couldn't return home, there wasn't any home for her in the first place. Mandy grew up without her parents. All the life she had lived with Tiffany and her mother. They were the family she had. That is why it's even more difficult for her to leave the Mallory's residence.
"And what do you think you're doing?" Tiffany asked Mandy just as she was about to take a bite from the meal served to her.
Mandy ignored Tiffany's question and went on with her meal.
"How dare you ignore me, you ingrate," Tiffany said, hitting off the spoon from Mandy's hand.
"What is all of this for?" Mandy asked Tiffany.
"Well, the rule now is, if you want to eat, get your food. You are no longer allowed to eat anything you didn't get with your own money in this house. So if you want to eat, go outside and work for your food."
"What? (Mandy yelled, shocked by what she just heard) And who gave you the right to make such a decision?"
"I did!" Jake said as he came down the stairs. "I did, and if you have a problem with it, just go ahead and sign the divorce papers. It's that simple."
"I can't believe you, Jake! I'm not surprised and I'm just disappointed that you didn't surprise me." She shoved Tiffany out of her and then she went upstairs.
"Bye babe. I love you!" Tiffany said to Jake as she planted kisses all over his face.
Mandy could hear the kiss sounds from the stairs.
"What are you doing?" Jake asked Tiffany who was making tickling movements on his chest.
"Nothing, I...l just spelling my name on your body so every other girl will take their eyes off you."
Jake walked into the wall intentionally.
"What did you do that for?" Tiffany asked him.
"Well, I am just trying to show you that I only have my eyes on you I can't even see what's in front of me."
"Oh, you silly boy. You know how to be cheesy you know."
"Well, I know you like it." He said giving her a cheesy smile.
"You know I was watching something before you came right?" Mandy said to Tiffany who had changed the channel.
"Well, I don't care."
"What is your problem, Tiffany? You want Jake, have him! Why do you like being in my business and just intentionally annoying me? You know l know you tried pushing me into the pool that day right, knowing very well/ my phobia with water. What did you do that for?"
"Well, I'm not particularly scared you figured it out because you can't do anything about it. You got lucky that day, but you won't be that lucky next time. I would tell you a little secret,” she leaned in closer I want you dead “ she whispered softly and slowly in Mandy's ears.
Mandy can't believe this was someone she once called a sister.
"So you better watch your back every time," Tiffany said with a peal of laughter that sounded as evil as the word evil.
