One night stand with my president (chapter 671)

Chapter 671: Just That They’re Scared

The man jolted, taking a beat too long to process Harrison Thomson’s meaning. Then he quickly turned to Adeline Hensley.

“I’m sorry, Miss Hensley. I was wrong. I’ll never do anything like this again. Please forgive me!”

His apology seemed to fly a switch, and the other men scrambled to apologize to Adeline.

“Miss Hensley, we were wrong. We shouldn’t have been so foolish.”

“We were just messing around. Please don’t take it personally.”

“It was all Harlow’s idea! If it weren’t for him, we never would have done something like this.”

Harlow now completely terrified, wanted to defend himself. But with everyone pointing fingers at him as the one who started the bet, and the chat log as evidence, what could he say?

He could only hang back, wishing he could bury his head in the ground.

“Miss Hensley…”

“Enough.”

Adeline was tired of their babbling.

“Using women as the subject of a bet, spewing vile insults about the women as if you existed in a group chat. Now, instead of showing any remorse, you ask me, the victim, what I would like? I went to the office today. That hadn’t made you apologize to me, would you be here saying you were wrong?”

The truth was, they weren’t sorry for what they did. They were just scared.

The assistant had already retrieved and shown them the chat log.

They were a bunch of degenerates, with no respect for women.

Using her for their bets, subjecting her to all sorts of indecent language—it was utterly disgusting.

While Adeline knew she shouldn’t let these people get to her, she still found herself trembling with anger.

And thinking about it—what if the target of their bet and their vile comments today wasn’t her, but some other young woman with no connections?

What if that girl was innocent and naïve, and one of them actually managed to deceive her? What would happen then?

Given their character, if she simply offered a flippant “I forgive you today,” they’d just go and do the same thing again.

Hearing Adeline’s words, the men panicked even more, pleading with her desperately.

But Adeline had heard enough. Their voices now just made her nauseous.

Harrison noticed Adeline’s expression.

He cleared his throat.

The office plunged into a deathly silence.

So quiet you could hear a pin drop.

The men were scared out of their wits, afraid to make another sound that might displease Adeline.

But terror consumed them—if they couldn’t properly apologize and earn her forgiveness now, wouldn’t that just hasten their doom?

“Go to the lounge,” Harrison said to Adeline. “I’ll handle this.”

He didn’t want these men to sully her sight any further.

Adeline stood and walked into the lounge.

The men could only watch helplessly as the door closed behind her, not daring to call her back.

Once inside the lounge, Adeline leaned against the bed and played on her phone.

The soundproofing was excellent; she couldn’t really hear what was happening outside.

Occasionally, she caught faint, indistinct sounds of pain or cries, but they quickly faded.

Before long, Harrison walked in.

The aura of menace hadn’t quite left him, but the moment his eyes fell on Adeline, his expression softened instantly.

“What happened to them?” Adeline asked.

Harrison came to sit beside her, draping an arm around her waist.

“I just had Kevin have some people take them away. He knows what to do.”

Seeing those cold eyes, his heart had burned with rage.

The previous swarm he cherished above all else, being degraded by them.

Adeline nodded, leaning against his shoulder.

She still felt unsettled.

“Hey,” Harrison murmured soothingly. “I’ve already had a company-wide memo sent out. They’re terminated, effective immediately.”

Beyond that, if it were their files circulated to all the major partner companies, it would ensure no employer wanted them.

Even though the Thomson Group’s presence in these men are blacklisted. Permanently.

Even though the Thomson Group’s presence in Yewhallia was just a branch, it still held considerable sway.

Like this, those men’s futures? Consider them over.
