One night stand with my president(chapter 329)

Chapter 329: He Didn’t Contact Her

Jasmine clutched Rogelio's hand, tears streaming down her face. "Honey, I admit it. I did ask Manuel to find a way to bring Miss Hensley to meet me. I know how much she means to Russell, so I thought she could help convince him to stop being at odds with us.

After I met Miss - Hensley, I messaged Russell and told him she was with me. I thought if the three of us could sit down and talk, maybe I could finally get him to forgive me."

Rogelio didn't speak, his expression complicated as he looked at her.

Jasmine began crying even harder.

"But I didn't expect that when Russell arrived, he'd misunderstand and think I was going to harm Miss Hensley, so he... Regardless, I never told Manuel to frame Russell. He's our family. How could I possibly do something like that?"

"Then why would Manuel say that?" Rogelio asked, confused.

Jasmine sniffled and said, "Maybe someone forced him to say it. He must have been scared and spoke nonsense. After all, he helped me, so matter is also connected to him."

Seeing her like this, Rogelio felt his heart soften.

"Alright. Don't cry. Crying like this isn't good for your health."

"You don't believe me anymore. What's the point of caring for my health?"

"I do believe you," Rogelio said quickly. "It's just that Manuel said..."

"The one who's hurting the most from losing the baby is me," Jasmine said. "You know how long I've waited for this child. Do you think I'd make a joke out of something so precious? And Russell is my nephew. In my eyes, he's like my own son. You know that better than anyone."

Her words and demeanor made Rogelio's heart ache even more.

He pulled her into his arms and said, "Alright, I believe you. Manuel must have been forced to lie to drive a wedge between us."

"Honey, I don't care what others think of me, but you-please, you can't stop trusting me. I've already lost my baby, Now, I only have you."

"Don't worry. I trust you the most," Rogelio reassured her.

He thought to himself, "Jasmine is so kindhearted and has always been so good to Russell. How could she possibly use her unborn child to frame him? It's Russell, on the other hand, who has always treated Jasmine with hostility. Now that Jasmine has just lost her child and is grieving, I can't add to her pain."

In Rogelio's arms, Jasmine smiled victoriously.

She had known all along.

Even with Manuel's confession, it didn't matter.

She knew exactly how much Rogelio loved her. A few tears and some sadness were all it took for him to believe her unconditionally.

Russell should count himself lucky to be competent.

Otherwise, the Hunter family would have no place for him.

Soon, it was the day for the Mendoza family to retum to Yewhaina.

Gracie had arranged for Alberto's discharge from the hospital early in the morning.

Alberto was mostly recovered but still weak Adeline had arranged for a wheelchair to help him move around comfortably.

Before leaving the hospital, Adeline went to see Lacey.

Lacey wouldn't be discharged until after Christmas, meaning her family would be spending Christmas in the hospital this year.

Fortunately, she was in a private room, so it wasn/t too inconvenient.

"You've never been to Yewhaina before.

What if you don't get used to it there?" Lacey said. holding Adeline's hand with worry.

Lacey's biggest concern was the Mendora family's status as a wealthy and powertul household. Even though isaac was the family head, other relatives might try to undermine or ostracize Adeline.

"Don't worry. Lacey" Adeline replied with a smile. "You know I adapt quickly, and I'm fluent in the tocal tanguage."

Lacey sighed. "If anything happens, promise vou'll tell your parents immediately."

"Of course. With such amazing parents, why wouian't I rely on them when I need to?"

Adeline wasn't one to throw her weight around, but if someone dared to bully her, she wouldn't hesitate to fight back.

"By the way, where's Mr. Thomson?" Lacey asked. "is he going to Yewhaina with you?"

Adeline's smile froze.

Since the day Harrison had walked away, he hadn't contacted her at all.

She wanted to call him, but every time she thought about what had happened, she felt conflicted.

She blamed herself but also blamed him for not understanding her.

Whenever she picked up her phone to Call him, shed stop herself, wondering. "Why hasn't he called me? is he so angry that he doesn't want anything to do with me anymore?"

These thoughts left her mind in turmoil,

'Adeline? What's wrong? Lacey asked, noticing her distracted expression.

Adeline snapped out of her thoughts and forced a smile. "Nothing. Of course, he's not coming with me to Yewhaina. He has his family to spend Christmas with.

"That's true," Lacey said with a nod. "You two aren't married yet, after all."

Adeline sighed inwardly.

She and Harrison were still in a cold war.

How could she even think about marriage right now?

Just then, Bianca entered the room.

Her expression was odd, and she seemed hesitant to speak.

Adeline noticed this and asked. "Do you have something to tell me?

"Oh. Bianca forced a smile. "I just wanted to wish you a safe trip. You're heading to the airport soon, right?

Adeline nodded. "Yes."

"Alright, take care and try not to use your phone too much while traveling."

Bianca's reminder seemed normal, but Adeline felt something was off.

Bianca's behavior was too strange.

Adeline thought, "Was she trying to stop me from looking at my phone? Why?"

Adeline hadn't checked her phone much that morning. She had looked once to see if Harrison had called or texted, but when she saw nothing from him, she felt frustrated and stopped checking.

Bianca's odd behavior piqued her curiosity.

However, she didn't check her phone immediately. Instead, she said, "It's about time. I should get going."

"Alright, safe travels," Lacey said.

Adeline got up to leave. Bianca watched her go, looking worried as she thought about the gossip she had accidentally come across earlier.

If Adeline saw it, she would definitely feel hurt.

After leaving Lacey's room, Adeline unlocked her phone.

The moment she unlocked her phone, a news notification flashed on the screen, with Harrison's name glaring at her from the headline.
