One night stand with my president (chapter 272)

Chapter 272: Strange Dream

"Oh, come on," Harrison immediately said.

"Alright, it's my fault. You sounded sincere. I'm dumb not to feel it."

Adeline couldn't help but let out a chuckle.

"What do you think others would say if they saw you like this right now?" Adeline said.

"I don't think they'd have any reaction," Harrison said.

This was his normal reaction in front of someone he liked.

"Then you're mistaken," Adeline said, smirking.

After a pause, she added, "But I don't want others to see it. It's just for me to see."

Harrison couldn't help but smile again and said, "You're quite domineering."

"Compared to you, I'm not domineering at all."

"If I were really domineering, I wouldn't have let you talk to Russell just now."

"Why? There's nothing going on between us," Adeline said.

Harrison made a dismissive sound.

Adeline had no feelings for Russell, but the way Russell looked at her was affectionate.

But there was no need to say that to Adeline.

The car soon stopped again at Adeline's building.

"Well, I'll head home now," Adeline said.

Harrison checked the time.

Just as Adeline was about to open the car door, he suddenly sighed.

"What's wrong?" Adeline immediately stopped opening the door and asked with concern, "Is something bothering you?"

"No," Harrison said. "It's just that I'm a bit tired.

We played badminton all night, and then I drove for a long time without much rest. I feel like I don't have the strength to drive home now." Hearing this, Adeline immediately caught on to his little trick.

She forced herself to keep a straight face and said seriously, "In that case, let's call a driver."

Harrison was speechless.

"What's wrong?" Adeline asked.

"It's so late now. The driver must be asleep," Harrison said. "It wouldn't be appropriate to wake them up at this hour, would it?"

"Oh, I see." Adeline nodded. "Then I'll drive you home."

Harrison's mouth twitched. "So, you're saying ! drive you home, and then you drive me home. Are we really that free?"

"You make a point. Well, I remember there's a hotel nearby..."

At Adeline's words, Harrison's face visibly fell.

Adeline almost couldn't hold back her laughter.

"Alright, come up with me," Adeline said.

"But you can only stay in the guest room."

"I was planning to stay in the guest room anyway," Harrison said. "Unless you want..."

"I don't," Adeline quickly interrupted, fearing he might say something that would make her blush and her heart race.

Harrison smiled and ruffled her hair.

He wasn't going to do anything to her right now, though he really wanted to.

After all, he was a normal man.

But he knew that would be irresponsible.

For now, he just wanted to spend more time with her.

Harrison was already planning his formal confession and proposal.

Once they established their relationship, she wouldn't be able to run away.

Adeline was really tired, and she was yawning even in the elevator.

Once they got home, she said goodnight to Harrison and went straight to the bedroom to shower and sleep.

Harrison was speechless.

So, he only had that brief time with her in the elevator.

But it was still better than leaving right downstairs.

Harrison sighed and thought, "It's fine. We have plenty of time."

After arriving in the guest room, Harrison also planned to shower.

Just as he was about to take off his shirt, his phone suddenly rang.

He picked up the phone and saw it was from Myra.

"Mom, what's up?" Harrison asked.

"Harrison, it's nothing. I haven't seen you for a few days, so I just wanted to call and check in." Myra's voice was gentle. "Are you at home?"

Harrison was silent for a moment and said, "I'm at Miss Hensley's place."

Myra was taken aback and said, "It's this late. How come you're there? Have you two already..."

"No," Harrison quickly said. "We had some things to do tonight, and it got late when I was dropping her off, so I'm just staying over at her place for the night. I'm in the guest room."

He wasn't afraid of what Myra might say, but he just wanted to make things clear.

"I see," Myra said.

"But, Mom," Harrison continued, "I like her. We're going to be together sooner or later. I'm sure she's the only one I want to spend my life with."

"Are you sure she likes you?" Myra asked.

"After all, she told me herself that she had no romantic intentions towards you. Did she lie to me?"

"No," Harrison said. "She's just very rational."

At that time, Adeline hadn't considered being with Harrison.

She never thought Harrison would like

her.

Later, it was Harrison who took the initiative to approach her and slowly opened her heart.

Myra sighed and said, "I know. I can't change your mind... Anyway, as long as you're happy.

When you have time, bring Miss Hensley over for dinner. I feel like I need to apologize to her for what happened before."

Harrison was a bit surprised.

"Mom? You..."

"In the past, I always thought I shou suitable wife," Myra said with a wry smile. "But after everything that's happened recently, I suddenly realized that those things are meaningless. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. Right now, what I wish for most is for my loved ones and friends to be happy, especially you, my son."

"Thank you, Mom," Harrison said. "Don't worry.

We'll definitely find the real murderer and clear our name."

"I know," Myra said.

After talking with Myra, Harrison felt very happy.

He wouldn't have to worry about the relationship between Myra and Adeline anymore.

He wished he could tell Adeline about this right away and share his joy with her.

But thinking about how tired she looked just now, he decided against it.

It was better to let her get a good nights sleep.

Adeline finished her shower, barely dried her hair, and fell asleep on the bed.

She even dreamed of the scene where Harrison and Russell were playing badminton.

However, as they played, the shuttlecock suddenly grew larger.

Moreover, the shuttlecock grew a very sinister face.

The shuttlecock said to them, "Do you want to end this game? Don't even think about it. As long as I'm here, you'll never leave this court." Then, in the dream, Adeline got angry.

She kicked the giant shuttlecock right out of the window.
