One night stand with my president (chapter 229)

 Chapter 229: She Likes You

After Regina left, Sam asked, "Why didn't Ms. Hensley come with you?"

“What would she come for?" Harrison asked.

Sam chuckled, "I miss her, can't I? If I can't see Ms. Hensley for a day, my heart aches."

Harrison certainly knew he was joking, so he replied in jest, "But Ms. Hensley said she doesn't want to see you."

"You must be talking nonsense." Sam said, "I have such a good relationship with Ms. Hensley. How could she not want to see me? I think it's your possessiveness that's causing her not to visit me."

"She should have less contact with someone like, you," Harrison said expressionlessly, "to avoid you leading her astray."

"Look at you, talking nonsense in front of Ms. Monroe." Sam timely pointed out Joyce to prevent her from feeling neglected.

Joyce laughed and said, "It's fine. I won't tell Adeline."

"That's not good. He said that just to make

you think I'm a bad person."

"Aren't you?" Harrison replied bluntly.

Just as Sam was about to say something, his phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID, clicked his tongue, and didn't answer.

But soon the phone rang again, and Sam still didn't pick up.

Then, new message notifications started ringing one after another, making Harrison feel it was noisy.

"Can you put your phone on silent?"

"Oh, I'm not in the habit of putting my phone on silent," Sam said aggrievedly. "I can't help it. My new girlfriend cares too much about me and calls me many times a day. I went to great lengths to keep her from visiting me at the hospital. If my mom sees her, she'll definitely be angry."

Joyce's heart suddenly felt like it was gripped by a large hand, causing her so much pain that she found it hard to breathe.

Joyce thought, "So he has a new girlfriend now."

Realizing this, Joyce felt uneasy.

Joyce thought, "He now has a girlfriend. It wouldn't be appropriate for me to sit here with feelings for him, right?"

Thinking this, Joyce quickly stood up.

"Uh, I just remembered that I have something to do, so I'll leave first," Joyce said.

"Then go ahead. Forgive me for not being able to get up to see you off. Harrison, can you send her off?”

"No need," Joyce quickly said. "I can go by myself."

After saying that, Joyce hurriedly turned and left.

Once she left, Harrison said, "Why say such things in front of her?”

"Huh? What?" Sam pretended to be confused.

"Still pretending?" Harrison said, "Can't you see she likes you?"

When he heard this, Sam's eyes flickered.

After a moment, he said, "I can't hide anything from you."

"Ms. Monroe is quite nice," Harrison said. "And she is sincere towards you."

Sam curled his lip and said, "You're not helping her because she's Ms. Hensley's good friend, are you?"

"Maybe that's part of it," Harrison said candidly.

"But she is great. That's my objective opinion."

Sam sighed and said, "Just because she's a good girl, I can't hold her back. If she was trying to get close to me for my money, that would be one thing, but she's not, so I can't deal with her."

"So you don't dislike her?"

"How should I put it? I have a good impression of her, but I'm not at the point of liking her yet," Sam said. "Plus, her friend who owns the bar obviously likes her, so l'd better not stand in the way."

"But she doesn't like that man," Harrison said.

"She likes you."

"Maybe she will realize how good that man is to her in the future," Sam said.

Harrison thought, "If Callan is the mastermind behind the attack on Sam, then Joyce would never like him after knowing that."

Not only wouldn't she like Callan, but she might even hate him.

"Well, let's not talk about that. Let's talk about you. How have you been with Ms. Hensley lately?"

As soon as Sam asked this question, Harrison visibly became happier.

"Whoa, you don't have to answer. Just by looking at your flirtatious demeanor, I can tell you two must be making great progress recently," Sam said with a tinge of envy.

"Wow, I grew up with you, and I never thought you'd have a day like this."

Not just him; Harrison himself had never thought SO.

"When do you plan to get married?" Sam asked.

Harrison said, "If I didn't consider other factors, I would marry her tomorrow."

Sam's eyes widened in shock.

"Wait... Are you Harrison? Did those words just come out of your mouth? I'm not dreaming, am I?" Sam exclaimed, "I know you like Ms. Hensley, but I never expected you to like her this much."

"Isn't that normal?" Harrison asked, puzzled.

If he had fallen in love with someone, it meant he wanted to spend his life with her.

In this life, apart from Adeline, he would not marry anyone else.

"That's so pure," Sam remarked. "I didn't expect you to be such a 'crusader for pure love'"

Just as he finished speaking, the door to the hospital room was suddenly kicked open.

"Sam, I'm here to see you."

Sam jumped in fright, and his injury started to hurt.

After recognizing the person, he couldn't help but curse, "Daphne, are you sick? Is this how you visit patients? If you want to scare me, just say it."

Daphne brought a pile of delicious food. Hearing that, she wasn't angry and placed the food on the bedside table, saying while untying the bag, "Oh, it's all my fault. I scared you. I'm sorry."

Sam was puzzled about why she was in such a good mood today when he suddenly caught a whiff of food.

He finally saw what Daphne had brought.

She actually bought various snacks, everything from chips, popcorn, pretzels, and the like.

"Daphne. You..."

Sam wanted to curse, but he was drooling, so he had to shut his mouth.

"Oh, you know, l've been abroad for a long time: and miss these snacks from home. I

originally wanted to buy them to eat with you, but I remembered you can't eat them right now when I got to the door," Daphne said cheerfully.

"But I've already bought them, so I can't throw them away, right? So just watch me eat, and you can at least smell the aroma."

Sam was nearly fainting from anger.

"Harrison, do you want some?" Daphne asked.

"I'm not eating."

Harrison had eaten dinner and wasn't hungry yet.

But looking at these snacks reminded him of the night he spent with Adeline at the night market in Marifort City.
