One night stand with my president(chapter 154)

Chapter 154 He Can't Rest Assured

Georgia handed over what she was carrying and said, "Mr. Thomson was worried that you might be feeling anxious, so he specially sent me over to keep you company and bring you some food."

Adeline could tell that Georgia was trying to soften her tone as much as possible.

However, Georgia always appeared cold and expressionless, so Adeline remained impassive.

"Thank you." Adeline took the items and smiled.

"You probably haven't had dinner yet, right? Let's eat together."

After saying that, she opened the door a bit wider to let Georgia into the room.

Acting on Harrison's orders to accompany Adeline, Georgia walked into the room.

Adeline closed the door behind them and went to the table, taking out several boxes that Georgia had brought.

Georgia had bought four dishes and a soup, far more than Adeline could eat alone.

"Let's eat together," Adeline said to Georgia.

Perhaps because Georgia had bought too much, the restaurant had provided several sets of utensils.

Standing beside Adeline, Georgia said, "No need, these are Mr. Thomson's instructions for your dinner."

Adeline was stunned.

While Rowen and Georgia were siblings, their personalities differed greatly.

Rowen was smooth while Georgia was rather rigid.

However, Adeline couldn't bring herself to have someone watch her eat like that.

She walked over to Georgia and asked, "Can I touch you?"

Some people were sensitive about physical contact, even with someone of the same sex.

Knowing Georgia's reserved nature, Adeline wanted to clarify.

Georgia didn't understand why she was asking, but answered truthfully, "Yes."

Hearing that, Adeline pulled her arm and gestured for her to sit at the table.

"You..."

"Georgia, we both work under Mr. Thomson. Is there any reason why I should sit here eating while you watch?"

Georgia tightened her lips and said, "Mr.

Thomson didn't say I could have dinner with you."

Adeline's mouth twitched.

She knew Georgia was extremely loyal to Harrison and treated his words as absolute.

But this was going a bit too far.

"He didn't say you couldn't, did he?" Adeline probed gently.

Georgia hesitated.

It seemed right.

"So you might as well sit here and eat with me in  peace," Adeline said, sitting opposite Georgia and setting out a set of utensils in front of her.

Georgia fell silent for a moment before saying, "Thanks."

"I should be thanking you. After all, it's you who bought dinner," Adeline replied.

After saying this, Adeline opened the boxes containing the food and soup.

Georgia silently unpacked her own utensils before doing the same for Adeline.

Although there was only one portion of spaghetti, it was surprisingly generous.

Adeline shared half of it with Georgia.

Georgia thanked her quietly and began eating.

Faced with a table full of delicious food, however, Adeline had little appetite.

She was still thinking about how things were going on Harrison's end.

"What's wrong?" Georgia asked. "Does the food not suit your taste? I can go get something else."

Adeline hurriedly said, "No, it's delicious. I'm just...”

She didn't finish, and Georgia continued to silently observe her, not knowing what was on Adeline's mind.

"I'm just worried about how things are with Mr. Thomson," Adeline admitted.

Georgia understood immediately and reassured her, "Don't worry, Mr. Thomson won't have any problems. He's surrounded by capable people, and he brought quite a few with him to Marifort City. Besides, there are already some of the Thomson family's forces here in Marifort City."

Hearing this, Adeline began to feel a little relieved.

While she was Harrison's chief secretary, her usual responsibilities were limited to matters within the company.

What Georgia told her was something she didn't know much about.

"I understand," Adeline said. "Thank you for letting me know. Georgia, after we finish eating, you should go help him. I'll stay here at the hotel and won't go out. Nothing will happen."

"Mr. Thomson instructed me to stay with you," Georgia said expressionlessly. "If I leave, he won't rest easy."

Georgia spoke straightforwardly, stating the facts as they were.

Although Adeline had limited interaction with her, she could tell what kind of person Georgia was.

"He won't," Adeline said. "I'll stay at the hotel. What's happening on his end is more important."

"You're just as important to him," Georgia interjected.

At her words, Adeline suddenly felt her face heating up.

She knew Georgia was just stating what she knew, but what Harrison had said that even Georgia, who was so reserved, could tell his feelings for Adeline?

Adeline knew Georgia wouldn't listen to her further, so she didn't try to persuade Georgia and continued eating.

At the same time, in a private room of a bar, Ronan sat in a corner with a bruised and swollen face.

By now, he had sobered up considerably, regretting not only getting involved but also not considering the consequences beforehand.

But his men probably had contacted Harrison, and Harrison was probably already on his way here.

With Harrison around, he had nothing to fear, but...

If Harrison found out about this, Adeline would definitely know.

Ronan thought, "What would Adeline think of me?"

Ronan was filled with regret.

"Hey, useless, I thought your brother was supposed to be so great and here in Marifort City too. Why hasn't he shown up yet?" a man sitting on the long sofa sneered.

This man was Tommy Mclean, the one Ronan had clashed with tonight.

His family held considerable influence in Marifort City, so he was always arrogant.

Tonight, he had been harassing a girl at the bar and trying to force her to leave. Ronan couldn't stand by, especially under the influence of alcohol, and had intervened forcefully.

What he regretted wasn't stepping in but doing so without thinking about the consequences. He could have handled this more wisely.

Hearing Tommy's words, Ronan looked up and said coldly, "You better think about how you're going to beg for mercy when my brother gets here."

Tommy laughed arrogantly.

"I know your brother, Harrison, right? I'd like to see what he can do to make me beg for mercy!" Tommy said.

Just then, the door to the private room was kicked open violently.

Four burly men walked in.

The occupants of the room were startled, and Tommy cursed, "What the hell!"

But the four men ignored him, standing respectfully by the door as if waiting for someone.

After a moment, Harrison entered.

As soon as he entered, the atmosphere in the room seemed to get tense noticeably.
