One night stand with my president (chapter 226)

 Chapter 226: Jasmine Is Pregnant

As she spoke, Jasmine's eyes turned red. "A few nights ago, I dreamed of her. I dreamed of the times we played and went to school together when we were kids. Those times were truly beautiful."

Tears fell from her eyes.

Her demeanor broke Rogelio's heart, and he quickly handed her a tissue to wipe her tears.

"Alright, don't cry. Your sister would be sad if she knew."

Russell suddenly felt like laughing.

Now, when Rogelio mentions his deceased wife in front of Jasmine, he referred to her as

"Jasmine's sister."

Russell thought, "Has he forgotten that she was once his wife? It's truly ridiculous."

Every time Russell saw this scene, it made him feel incredibly uncomfortable.

Would his mother be happy to know that her beloved husband was now with her sister, whom she always cared for?

In fact, Russell hadn't wanted to come to this dinner today.

But Rogelio called him several times, insisting that he come.

Russell didn't want to make things too awkward between them.

Although he had never accepted the fact that they were together over the years, these two people were still his family.

After comforting Jasmine, Rogelio said to Russell, "Russell, I know you've held resentment against us all these years, but today is a family gathering. Can you please not throw a tantrum?"

His voice carried a hint of pleading.

Russell felt a mix of emotions.

Was mentioning his mother a tantrum?

However, seeing his relatives looking at him cautiously, he ultimately said nothing more.

Rogelio let out a sigh of relief and started to have the waitstaff serve the dishes.

The dishes were brought out one by one.

One of Russell's aunts smiled and said, "Rogelio, you treat your wife well. These dishes must be her favorites, right?"

Rogelio looked at Jasmine sitting beside him and gently replied, "She is my wife, and these are the things I should remember."

Russell suddenly recalled that when his mother was alive, Rogelio didn't even remember what she liked to eat.

But back then, his mother was Rogelio's wife.

Russell thought, "Is this the difference between love and indifference?"

A thought suddenly popped into Russell's mind.

He wondered if his mother's death was somehow unnatural.

But soon he dismissed this thought as absurd.

Back then, Rogelio and his mother treated each other with utmost respect, and

Jasmine was his mother's own sister. Such a thing wouldn't happen.

Russell lowered his gaze and silently took a sip of the red wine in his glass.

Another relative said, "This wine seems to be something Jasmine likes too, right? Here, I toast you, Jasmine."

"No thanks," Jasmine smiled and said. "I can't drink right now."

Russell's brow suddenly twitched as he raised his gaze to her.

Coincidentally, Jasmine also looked over and gave him an apologetic smile.

At that moment, Rogelio stood up, beaming as he raised his wine glass, saying, "Guys, I called you here for dinner not only to catch up but also to share some good news."

Russell clenched his fingers tightly.

Rogelio continued, "Jasmine is pregnant."

"Oh, well... Congratulations to you."

"Yeah, congratulations."

Everyone spoke congratulatory words, but their hearts were filled with unease as they looked at Russell.

At that moment, they suddenly heard a loud

"crash" as glass shattered.

Russell had crushed the wine glass in his hand.

The red wine mixed with blood, indistinguishable from one another.

Jasmine screamed, "Russell, you."

"What happened?"

"We need to bandage this quickly. Get the waitstaff to bring some hemostatic agents and gauze."

"Did any shards go into the flesh? Just bandaging won't do. Russell, hurry to the hospital." The relatives were in a frenzy, but Russell seemed oblivious to the pain in his hand, his gaze fixed intensely on Rogelio.

Rogelio felt somewhat guilty under Russell's stare and said, "'ve been married to your mother... your aunt for many years now, and we finally have a child. You should be happy for us."

"Tell me how I am supposed to be happy." Russell seemed too pained to even be angry, his face filled with sorrow. "Do you even remember what you promised my mother?"

Russell remembered that when he was five years old, Rogelio had told his mother that he would never betray her in this lifetime, that there would be no other woman but her, and that he would never have children with anyone else.

Rogelio just wanted to be with her and Russell.

But later, Rogelio married another woman and now had a child with someone else.

Russell was only five then, yet he still remembered.

But Rogelio forgot all of that.

Before Rogelio could speak, Jasmine cried out,"Russell, I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I've always said I wanted a child of my own. If you need to blame someone, blame me. Your father has always cared about you."

Rogelio quickly hugged her. "Jasmine, don't say that. Russell, it was me who wanted a child with your aunt. It has nothing to do with her."

Russell watched the two of them with cold eyes.

They united against Russell, the "outsider."

Russell sneered inwardly, "How touching."

Just as Russell crushed the wine glass, the waitstaff was serving dishes to Harrison and Adeline. The door to the private room opened, and as Adeline turned her head, she saw the opposite room's door also open, revealing a chaotic scene inside. Russell was seated near the door, so she could see that his hand was injured. Adeline frowned slightly and thought, "Did he have a falling out with his father and stepmother?"

Then she heard Rogelio and Jasmine speaking.

Adeline thought, "So Russell's father and stepmother have a child again."

What she could see and hear, Harrison naturally could as well.

Seeing Russell injured made his brow furrow even more.

To be fair, he had a certain appreciation for Russell.

For Harrison, in the business world, Russell was a capable partner and a strong competitor.

He hadn't expected Russell's family situation to be so complicated.

When Harrison turned his head and noticed Adeline seemed a bit worried, his brow furrowed even tighter.

"Are you worried about him?" Harrison couldn't help but ask.Adeline sighed and said, "Don't think too much of it. My concern is just for a normal friend, and I can probably understand the pain he feels."

Although Russell's family situation wasn't exactly the same as hers, she understood the pain of losing a mother.

Harrison understood what she meant and stopped being jealous. Instead, after the waiter finished serving the dishes, he got up and closed the door to the private room.

  2. Really feel pity for Mr. Russell, because it looks just as Adeline's case of being an only child without a mother living. And in his case his mother's sister married to his father, and it is suspicious about his mother's death. They killed he also as Jani yah and Mateo did to Adeline's foster mother.
Well, I pray that his hands heals faster and better.
